Fuck combustion… or fuck vaporizing extracts? (Dun dun dun!!!)

Been thinking about the health differences between smoking flowers and vaporizing extracts in a bong. Wanted to post this and see what others think, hopefully some people with medical knowledge.

I have a bong for buds only that I use a carbon filter adapter with. The water and chambers of the bong get little to no residue after many sessions, only from small pieces of ash slipping through the carbon filter. I would assume the cleanliness of the chambers is similar to my lungs.

I have a bong for oils only that I use both a ti nail and a Health Stone with. Regardless of whether or not I use a carbon filter, the water quickly turns yellow and the famous golden brown film forms in the chambers. This happens, I assume, because the solid is being vaporized instantly and then is partially being cooled and transformed back into oil in while cooling in the water and the chambers. Don't our lungs have this film from the reconstituted vapor just like the chambers?

Now unless your extract is 100% pure, there are probably other things in the residue besides THC. Seems like this should be discussed.

you carbon filter isn't removing nearly enough combustion gases.

Lungs are much more porous than a glass bong, so I'd assume most (or all) of the vapor you don't exhale is absorbed into the tissue. The only thing that really concerns me about oils is that some of them have questionable purity (residual butane). As for dabbing vs combustion, do you know notice any difference in the harshness on your throat/lungs?

Using the same bong, I find vaporizing to be the smoothest, followed by dabbing; while smoking is the harshest.

I use to dab but I feel its somehow worse for your lungs than vaping or even smoking. I won't pretend to know the science, but that's just my experience.

I go through stints of oil use. Right now I have no oil made and have no desire to make anymore. I think people are using oil too much lately, it's for a couple hits here and there or for nice quick pain relief. But still oil doesn't medicate the same as Vaping flowers. Flowers first in my books. Oil is a nice cherry on top.
