Eliminating the elbow...

So I got an Arizer V-Tower, and it came with a cracked elbow piece. I'm working of getting that sorted out, but in the meantime, I think my unit needs some slight mods.

I've ordered silicone tubing to replace the stock stiff vinyl tubing, so I'm sure that will take some strain off the elbow piece. It is still a point of mechanical stress, however, and is doomed to cause damage over time.

My question is, are the compatible straight pieces on the market? The website for Da Buddha sells a 19mm ground glass male hose adapter. It seems like it should work, the ground glass end goes directly into the cyclone bowl, and the tubing attaches to the other end. I'm just worried about sizing. Will this piece fit in my stock Arizer cyclone bowl? If not, is there another similar straight piece that would? I'm not looking to get bent over on the price, so the Da Buddha piece or something similar in price would be idea.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

@zxro while waiting for answers here you might want to check out the EQ thread there have been people using the Arizer tower/Q for some time if its possible someone's probably done it over there. A read through that thread may help.
    Good Luck with your Quest.

Yup, I've been slogging my way through it. I don't wanna get too trick with this yet, and I'd prefer to not purchase anything off of eBay. Just looking for a simple piece that is compatible. Arizer doesn't offer much in the way of specs, and their accessories are limited. My problem seems like it should be a common enough thing that someone out here has the cheapest easiest solution already. My forum search-fu isn't very strong, I'll admit.

Its not always easy to find just what you want with the search. You can always ask for the specs on the EQ thread everyone DIYs stuff so they must Know. I don't own an airzer so I'm no help.

I would think that a male 18mm to a male 14mm male adapter would work. I would call your local head shops and see if they have any in stock.
I would put the dome screen into the 18mm side and then stick the tubbing over the 14mm side. [IMG]
THis would have the whip pointing up into the air

Ugh, metric. :p is 18mm the standard for a stock Arizer cyclone bowl? is 14mm the same as a 5/16 ID tubing? the actual part seems like what I need. Da Buddha sells one thats a 19mm, but they don't specify the diameter of the end piece that goes into the tube.

Since when did this get all complicated with like math and engineering and stuff? ;)

18mm is actually the same as 19mm I think. I'm pretty sure they're both actually 18.8mm. 14mm is the other common size.

The Arizer elbow is probably what you want, not so much for the 18mm joint because any 18mm part will work in the cyclone bowl (which is 18mm, yes) but for the tubing connection. Ideally you want a piece that fits your tubing. You're using the same size tubing as came with the V-Tower, right? The part from 7th floor would probably work better with their wider tubing.
