Ed's cocobolo wood stem

Hi - I enjoy using the glass stem with Ed's woodscent log, however my just shattered. I'm considering the cocobolo wood stem and would like an honest opinion on whether it's an upgrade or just an aesthetic piece. Thanks

I use a wood stem with my logs far more often than the glass or metal. Ed’s work is top notch!

Do you prefer it over the glass stem as far as taste and effect? I hark back to my younger years using a wood pipe, and how awful the herb started to taste after awhile.
How do you clean the wood stem?
