EDIT: And I am the only one here who just re-read what @ACE OF VAPE said?????

"New and Improved Products!"

What could this mean??? Whatever it is, I officially am calling dibs to be #1 on the list for whatever the new products could be. When can I put down my deposit???:nod::nod:[/USER]
Ahem. If we have a list of hopeful improvements...

Click-dial control. that's right, a dial that will click into a stop for each 1/4 increment.

Lighted dial control. I remember these from old electric blankets. Excellent way to make adjustments in low-light situations. Remove the neon bulb from the can, and light up the dial.

Move power coupling to bottom - have power in base station, when you set the Nano on it, it connects and heats the element... when you pick it up, you still have a couple of minutes before it cools too much to use, but you don't have a leash. Pick it up, use it, pass it across the way to someone, then return it to base to reheat. Sorta like an induction point, like my electric toothbrush has, but without a battery... UNLESS it's a small, powerful battery that will maintain that heat for, oh, 5 mins? 15? not so long that the full force of mains power, which sets the Nano pretty high on the bar, imo, is reduced, but long enough for a couple of passes before it weakens and needs to be set back on base. Definitely NOT a pitsy plug in like the stupid phones use.

Wow, I didn't realize how much I'd pondered this.

Anyway, @ACE OF VAPE , Merry Christmas, thank you for providing quality, and especially for how human you make it. anytime I can avoid supporting the "1%", the happier I am.

Yeah, my Nano still works perfectly. :)

I had that thought about the base idea and have thought of making one by stabalizing the current cord on a wood base. Using springs so that the plug makes contact with the nano but doesn't fully get stuck in place.

But I don't have the tool or know how.

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

The wooden one they make/sell works well. I put a small piece of velcro on the bottom and that helps hold it in place. I also drilled another small hole in it to stick the tool into so now it holds everything: Nano, 3 stems, 1 GONG, and the E-pic tool.

I posted this before, but since the topic of modifications for stability have returned, here's what I did: used removable 3M double sided adhesive tape to attach a small 2 piece Space Case grinder. Also, more little no skid pads on the bottom. It's completely reversible without harming the finish of either piece.

Happy Holidays to all! Santa was EXTRA nice to me this year

Anyone ever curious to see what the thermal signature of a Nano looks like - Here's my first picture with my entry-level FLIR camera.

BpQoFH4.png

I tried to get the dimmer in the picture as well (note the squarish blob on the left side). As you can see, there's really no heat buildup in the dimmer switch (which was a concern of mine while designing a replacement case for it!). And the base of the Nano is quite low in temperature (which is a good thing for the wires and neon bulb!)

Note the nano was running at approximately 6.75 for MANY hours by this point

I'll work on getting more pictures of all my vaporizers thermal profiles over the next few weeks for ya'll

Here's some more FLIR porn for everyone! Enjoying a nice session at 6.5.

Seems like the temperature readings are a bit off on small objects, but it's still a very useful device for visualizing heat around the house (and 3D printer!). Hell, I discovered my bedroom alarm clock is running HOT. Hot enough that I'm actually going to replace the device.

5y1vOif.jpg

Need to move the camera around more and see what temperature I discover on my nano (supposedly it can read up to 750F)

(Note the dimmer switch is not hot at all. I'm very happy about that)

Nice and toasty at 143F. But the wood cools off VERY fast - here's what it looks like after I put my hand on the Nano for 5 seconds:

Ready to try my awesome nano with a wp. After reading the cheap glass thread, I'm considering the D020-D, the GB-187, and the FC-187. Anyone want to help me decide? I have no experience what-so-ever, so any thoughts on which one I should get would be greatly appreciated.

Do I also need to purchase a GonG to work with these? If so, I'm thinking it's the 18mm one right?

Thanks everyone...Merry Christmas/Happy Newyear.

Start with the D020-D or the GB-187, skip the FC-187 for now.

Buy a carb'd 18mm GonG from @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd (I'm really crazy about ABV blowback, the carb'd GonG works perfectly to prevent that)

For simplicity due to you being new, I'd get a D020-D and a stock 18mm GonG from Epicvape. This will get you up and running in about 2 weeks for less than $50. Then start exploring other options/setups as your budget deems fit.

I have 2 carbed GonG's inbound from @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd, and am excited to try them out, but he does have a longer wait time. From what I understand though, these are game changers.. no need to remove the nano or GonG when clearing.

Hope that helps.

The GB-187 is OOS, so I helped you narrow it down to two, he he.

I prefer the size and volume of the FC-187, but the D-020-D is the safer bet, as it's smaller size is easier to fill and clear and Sunshinestore is a proven quality vendor with fast shipping and nice customer service. Both are great functioning pieces IMO, so you can't go wrong with either.

Order both and see which one gets here quicker,.

So I heard the new USB 3.1 is coming out and supposedly it can output 100 watts. Do you guys think it would be possible to have a usb adapter power cable that can be used with one of those portable charging hubs and use the e-nano as a portable? I don't know how hard this would be to implement or if its even possible but in my head it sounds like a good idea

I have had my nano for an awesome 3-4 months, during which it has seen all sorts of use from all kinds of people. My E-nano (named, Flos) is easily one of the best purchases I have ever made. I had a bit of trouble at the beginning with power output (Which I determined was the shitty place I am living as 7.5 in my room was about a 6 at my friend's house). You can even get great sessions out of this baby as it warms up (Not as powerful obviously, but still light cloud production.

At my other friend's house, he doesn't like the smell, so I set it up in the bathroom, take a quick shower and Flos is ready to go. Sometimes I set it up while I am on the toilet, setting it to 10, and by the time I am done I get steadily increasing power throughout the stem.

Also, rather recently I got my hands on some oil, and boy, does the nano shine with some oil. Efficient and the taste. Just wow.

Finally considering getting a water tool to get the other side of the nano (bought the GonG when I first ordered my nano), and under @ataxian 's suggestions will likely get the d022 (with a small question being, how well balanced is said water pipe, I.E., is it easy to knock over? if so, I might consider another piece)

Ataxian is correct with the D022 it is a beautiful piece and is really solid and is more sturdy than it looks in the picture. Unfortunately my clumsy self knocked it off my desk and broke it but it was amazing while it lasted.

@*plainlazy* I find the D020 a solid piece its just too small for my liking. If you get a bigger piece your nano will be able to milk more which I find more enjoyable. Idk anything about those pieces but they look fine. Try to find a water test vid of it

Wow shortly after placing my order for my new D020D yesterday morning, I rec'd tracking info a few hours later. Not sure if that's phony info or not, but it's certainly quick.

problem with this WP it hasnt got a code name like the d020. was hoping someone had one to pass on their findings with it.

I may post this on the cheap chinese glass thread and see what happens.
not ordering for a while anyway

Think you're better off with questions like this in that thread - actually "Cheap, high quality bubbler" . Link is to last page as of now. Thread is now over 530 pages and can move really fast, but lots of good info. I'd say start by going back at least 20 pages and read forward.

This one also good to read and look at pics, but for reviews and not questions. "DHGate Glass Review thread"

Be careful with some of the hype on either.

Glass choices can be very subjective and personal. I'd never consider buying many of the pieces I see people rave about and am sure some people would want none of the pieces I really enjoy. This is one of the best things about Chinese Glass. You can try different types of pieces for $50 or less, and see what you like. Not sure what you mean about codename.... The numbers are just model numbers. The picture you linked to comes in several similar configurations with different numbers.

IMO, less diffusion is better for vaping because it leaves more flavor. Some want crazy diffusion because they love to see all that action (or use for dabs and other things). I like to keep it simple. D020 is a tried and true favorite that works well with nano. I don't have the D020-D, but looks like a nice upgrade from the original D020 (more volume and a bit more of a perc), and seems to be well loved by all who have it. GB-187 is a nice one with a bit more volume (though OOS right now). FC-187 is similar but seems a little cheaper produced, and has a sidecar. Sidecar means mouthpiece comes out of the side at an angle instead of straight up. This keeps your nano off to the side instead of in front of your nose, which I really like. This is only 4 of probably 20 or so models that are popular with FCers right now, and only a small sampling of what is available.

Many options, so best to do a little homework and ask questions in Cheap Bubbler thread if you don't already see them posted and answered. Also, a good idea to stick with vendors who have a better track record and much info in that thread about such things. FWIW, sunshinestore has always been good to me and has a solid rep here on FC.

Would love to know off you or other members that have had Solo for a while and how these two match up. I realize that the draw would have to be better then the solo but by how much? I am not a fan of convection vaps and have sold my MV and Plenty to name two because of the "airy priming" of those two in particular and how they give me crook guts when I have to do long "primes".
With both the MV and Plenty there was a fair distance from mouth to to bowl so to speak.
I would think because of the similar short shaft to the Solo you would get the vapor fairly quickly without too much priming is that right? Is the vapor hot? Is it more potent as the MV was then the solo?
I have always extended my Solo`s with a bit more longer tubing to cool it down more. I have a pinnacle WT if I want to go through water but I generally prefer dry vapor. Basically is there a LOT of difference between the Solo and the E-Nan to warrant the cost? It costs me a fortune every time I get something from the States to Aussie due to exchange rate difference and postage etc etc. What costs you bugger all over there is double or triple here. Need a Aussie reviewer? Im going cheap LOL Thanks

Actually purchased both. What I hear, the enano is EFFICIENT. I hear enano does better than my expensive portable vapes. You got to remember that this is a desktop (more power) so I see the solo as my portable and enano as my home piece.

Hey jivebuggered, I only heard great things about the enano from the most experienced vaporists on FC. In addition, this thread gives me the feeling of 'family.'

Yep thanks for the reply more replies are welcome from other members. Trouble is when you "surf" the threads there will always be members that swear black and blue "this" or "that" is the best. One just has to try and get as much info as possible to make a choice and because I am left with only the Solo now after a half dozen different vaps the Solo is as good as any to compare right/ Im still hanging out for a export herbalizer which will be my home one and the Solo was to be my portable in a perfect vap world LOL. If I can be convinced and can afford it I might make the E-Nano my second home one or better still there might be a change at hand where the E-nano becomes portable in the new Year? Ta
