Do you rate your movies.

As I scroll through the list of movies I have rated on Netflix, I wonder to myself how often do you all watch and rate movies. I have started to take movie watching and rating as a serious part of my life, as it is one of the only things I do everyday (excluding vaping).

Also I was wondering what sources do you use to receive your movies; Redbox, Hulu, and PPV are nice examples.

If you have Netflix could you recommend me something to watch, I have had trouble with finding new things.

i don't usually rate movies. i have not found those ratings helpful for me.

i know, i know. If I (and my clones) participated in them more they would

What TV shows have you liked? Netflix has lots of good series for stream.

Being Human, Skins, Various Anime Shows, Soul Eater, Baka and Test, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Eureka, Better off Ted, Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, Eli Stone, Arrested Development, Kyle XY, The Sarah Silverman Program, Code Monkeys, Archer, Ugly Americans, Persons Unknown, The Gates, Roswell, Shin Chan, South Park, Survivors, Psych, Heroes, Weeds.. Alot more..

I think the ratings for me at least are very accurate. I look at the rating they suggest I will put, then I read the reviews and decide whether or not I will watch it, I don't watch trailers nor do I really read or pay attention to their inaccurate descriptions. But I think they should have a pretty good assumption of what I like after 700 ratings and doing all of the taste preferences.

This is an interesting question.

Back in the day, Siskel and Ebert ??? other 'critics' etc. tried to 'advise' me. Didn't work then, doesn't work now...

Watched a Bruce Lee on AMC last night... very staged, but his moves were beautiful. No more hokey than most James Bond flicks. He was unique. The David Niven Bond was a cool dude. Casino Royale (1967) Peter Selars and Ursula Andres... (OVO) hope that's not out of line...

when I read the title I thought rate how, write it down or so? and for what purpose? :p
I download most of my movies(torrents), documentaries I mostly watch online because usually they're less restricted by coppyrights, and are just on youtube or google video
tv-shows I either download or watch on streamingsites like megavideo(often linke trough another site, lately I use tv-links.eu a lot)
veetle is great too, but live streaming so less choice, and after a while of watching it begings lagging and making laptop really hot wich isn't nice for my knees

I have a grudge against netflix and hulu, sinve ut has happened multiple times that I was desperatly looking for a place where I could watch some older show(like alf or the A-team)
ofcourse one of the first results was netflix or hulu
I try, but only accessible if you're in the US(I live in the netherlands)
then I look further, after a long and extensive search I finally find a link that may work... turns out that side just links to hulu/netflix and still can't watch it
and all the while those hulu/netflix resultys keep taunting me, knowing it's right there but I can't watch it

like not eating anything for a few days, being locked in a room with in the center of that room a see-trough box filled with the most delicious food but no way to open the box

(eventually I could watch it tough, alf with graboid and for the A-team I found a torrent, but not with many sources so took some time)

Regional restrictions on online content is the worst. I feel your pain, I miss out on all the great Canadian content. :(

The Netflix rating system is a technological marvel; of course its not a perfect predictor, nonetheless, I think its worth taking a step back and appreciating how amazing that algorithm is.

Re: OP: I used Netflix/Huluplus/free satellite/torrent content to cut cable several months back. I haven't looked back.

I personally don't see why everyone just doesn't only use internet and cellular phones? Is there something else one would need? :/
I have DirecTV and used to watch it consistently, but getting Netflix last year was probably the best decision I have ever made. Never watched anything on DirecTV after that, my dad still has it for his Sunday Ticket but it is just the most unappealing thing we have electronically. I keep telling him there is a reason Netflix was built-in to his TV.

I feel like my ratings number isn't really that high but compared to most of my friends who don't rate it is.. What are your guy's? Mine's 720 now.

I like regular tv because sometimes I just don't want to think about what show or episode I want to watch, just turn on the tv and see if it's fun
and I cant link my laptop to my tv(it's an older tv, had another bigger flatscreen wich I could link my laptop to, but it is already a few weeks in the shop for repairs now, everytime I turned it on or switched between tv and laptop the brightness and color setting were messed up, resulting in a black screen untill I set it back, and often connecting my laptop wouldn't work because only half of the screen would be visible)
but sadly the choice is limited on regular tv, I mostly watch comedy central
discovery and national geographic can be good too, but also often uninteresting stuff and NG reruns everything way too much
mtv can sometimes be fun for making fun of(sometimes watching jersey shore high can be hilarious, but usually I can't keep it up for anj entire episode before switching to another channel)
and veronica has part good shows

most other of our dutch channels are mostly crap, lot of realityshows and all kinds of idols-spinoffs
especially sbs is bad, I dislike pretty much anything that channel stands for(a lot of celebritycrap, and a newsshow that basically 'OMG sad handicapped kid got robbed of ..., that's so bad and we feel so sorry for him' and then the next week 'OMG that handicapped kid is so happy because our viewers sent money to him and now he can buy a new ..., even more expensive and he is so happy and gratefull now OMG')

and after about 12-1 in the evening most channels switch to only broadcasting sexcommercials, and a few to the same but with tarrot and astrology instead of sex
only comedy central usually has a good night programming, altough during the week it are just reruns of everything that was broadcasted the day before

I used to spend a lot of time rating and reviewing films, but now I find that I simply like to watch and enjoy these days. Now don't get me wrong, I still like to check out IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes before I go drop an absurd amount of money to watch a movie in a theater... but I hardly do any criticizing personally.
