That looks AWESOME! and exactly what i am looking for in the log, something powered on that I can take a quick strong hit with, preferably dry. I’ll be turning the CL on and doing some more experimenting later (oh what a tough life it is ;) ) I’ll keep y’all posted about the results

That was a suggestion from coolbreeze. Thank you @coolbreeze
The Camouflet tip fits perfectly like it was made for the CL.
I tried it with different stems and the Revolve Gen2 and the Simrell MVS are my favorites.

I have a random simrell Blackwood stem with no port and it’s perfect for the couch log although the mvs is a bit cooler to the inhale.

I did some more testing and had better results (yay!). I slowed my draw speed way down, and on the initial hit if I see the vapor getting too thick I just take the heater off. Not ideal but I’m sure my technique will improve over time.

It’s a bit more finicky than I expected it to be but it makes sense looking at the diameter of the bowl and the proximity to the heater. I may try a glass bowl in the future too (if I had known I would’ve just included it heh) but I want to try and master this first.

Thanks for the help! It’s such a nice (and tiny!) vape. I have a thing for wooden vapes, hand feel is unmatched.

I'd recommend the bowl to anyone considering the CL. The stems are essential but the bowl is as well, I feel. The distance really helps manage the extra restriction of a water pipe, providing a more even roast. There's also the extra capacity, really great flavor, etc. I use the bowl (or the JoDa bowl) probably 90% of the time, fwiw. The glass stem is pretty sweet for smaller amounts/lower temps, with breath adjustments for closeness.

Yes! This is great too--very open, flavorful, great for low temp hits. A little more challenging to mate up on a waterpipe but works great once you line it up.

When you say JoDa bowl, do you mean the one in the 420eng shop?
No, that's the CL "glass bowl" but do get that one! The JoDa Glassworks bowl is made by an FC glassblower @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd .
Here's some info:

I have just now tried it using a glass injector bowl and a 14mm adapter I had laying around. Space between the heater and herb is more than doubled this way and holy shit it hits so much better this way! Ran it around 4, 4.5. I’ll still have to order a proper bowl though since this one is 18mm but the adapter makes the heated area smaller.

Is there anybody out there using the stainless bowl? Would’ve been great if it came with a glass injector bowl in my opinion, it completely opens up the vape. The stainless bowl reminds me of using a sticky brick with a thin 14mm downstem bong, there isn’t enough airflow so the margin of error between hot enough to vape and not hot enough to scorch becomes very small. Not saying the stainless bowl has low airflow but imo it has a similar small margin of error.

edit: or maybe a deeper ss bowl or a way to adjust the screen position or something. Just making suggestions here btw please don’t take these remarks as complaints. I’m very happy with it :science:

I think you kinda have to think about them as being two different uses. I turn down quite a bit when I go direct and I've learned to even the top rather than tamping and to pack a little less than full. I go through water most of the time but direct is just kind of its own fun thing to master.

I used to pretty much exclusively use a glass bowl but I bought a wood bowl from https://www.dfreezdesigns.com/ and it's really great. Wood is pretty indestructible and has nice insulating properties like glass.

I've recently repurposed the stock metal bowl by placing it inside a 14mm glass reducer. I just wedge it in there and use the o-ring to make a good seal and use that with a dry glass hook. You can also use the CL with the stock stem and place that in a 14mm glass hook.

I understand the design of the stainless bowl. You want a thin, narrow pipe to eliminate the possibility of scorching and hotspots that can occur when the diameter of the bowl exceeds that of the CL tip. If you use the right temp (around 4 for me, always less than with a glass bowl) and regulate your draw, the stock bowl extracts really really well.

Edit: VERY important in any convection vape to have your screens be as clean as possible for the best experience!

I still use the SS bowl with a wooden pipe and screen mod. My glass bowl also has a screen mod and gets used regularly. Both mods push the herb closer to the heater, so it doesn’t matter which bowl I choose (SS, glass, or dyna tip), my temperature stays at 4.
Here’s my preferred setups.

If I’m macrodosing (~.15), I’ll use the glass CL bowl with screen mod. Fill and tamp my bowl with the TRWW scoop and tamp, and run it through my j hook or small wp. I use a 3:1 cbd/thc ratio when using this setup (middle container of Reload).

If I’m microdosing (~.05), I’ll use the metal CL bowl with screen mod on my bocote pipe (Etsy). Fill and tamp using the TRWW OGB. This setup is high thc only (bottom container of Reload).

Sorry. No link on the screen. Mistvape out of business.

Ah yes, this seems to be working well for me too, using the ss bowl when dry and using a glass bowl with a bit more distance between the herb and the heater when using a water tool. Awesome! I have a glass stem with dimples that is perfect for dropping the ss bowl into with an adapter, I’ll add a pic soon. Can really squeeze the last bit of actives out of the herb like this, perfect!

The 14mm female Vgoodiez injector bowl that I quite like. Also comes in clear and has glass or steel screen options and either 14 or 18mm male connector.

I’m EU based so probably won’t be ordering the joda bowl or from vgoodies :( shipping is expensive

I’ve tried but I haven’t really hit my stride with it yet. When leaving the heater on for a while it seems too hot initially and underpowered after. As in, initial hit will scorch and I will have to take it off the bowl quickly, second hit won’t brown the material all the way.

If I don’t want the initial scorch I have to turn it down so much, like lower than 2.5, but then the subsequent hits are non existent.

This isn’t my first vape either. I’ve tried different inhaling speeds, different water tools, also an injector bowl I had lying around which works better but it’s still not ideal.

It works but my roast is uneven too. I will try to play with it some more but it has been easier to grab the Dani tbh, I even powered the herbo back on 😩 (I love my herbo but it was my intention to use the CL for a while)

I say keep at it and you'll get there! The stock bowl should really work the best until you get your hands on a nice glass injector that's made for the CL. I would go back to basics with the stock bowl and the wood mouthpiece but use the whole thing as your injector (turn it upside down into a female 14mm water piece). Make sure your seal is good.

I think your flower may be too dry if you're controlling your inhale and still getting scorching or uneven heating with the stock bowl. As long as your initial "scorch" is not black, or tastes bad, you'll be ok. Sometimes I think my roast looks too dark but it's not black upon closer inspection and it still tastes good. I keep my temp at about 4 on the dial.

If it's not this, then double check you haven't tamped the bowl too much and your screen must be clean. Perhaps try straw-loading or just dumping flower in with no tamping. Don't fill beyond the lip of the bowl. Any flower that rests on the lip/edge of the bowl where the CL tip rests will burn.

Edit: I forgot to mention that one perk of using the stock bowl is it's easy to rotate the CL on top of the bowl while hitting it. This will help to reduce any hotspots.

Is that the new big boy XL? She's a beauty.

I still love my original blackforest oak and she's plugged in 24/7. Does the original charger/temp controller work for the XL as well?

Edit: Doesn't seem like there are any XL "log only" versions available....

**Additional Option:**
- If you don't need the controller, power supply, or cable, you can add the code: NoController
to get it 110€ cheaper.
You have to use that code and the controller works for both. Pretty sure the one pictured there is the OG 14mm.

It's the OG. Are you thinking about the XL? I'll get there one day, for sure. : )

Yeah, this one is on all day, goes off with the lights. Yes as far as I know.

Oh ok. I have thought about the XL 😂... but right now my VAS is very satisfied.

Nice. Ok cool. @EarthworldTim was nice enough to explain how to just get the XL log if I want to.

I have received the glass bowl (Chris kindly sent one to me) and wow my experience has increased tenfold. Getting light brown avb on heater level 3 now. Nice big hits without any drawing techniques or whatever needed to avoid scorching.

Would highly recommend the glass bowl to anybody who doesn’t have one yet

Hi all! I am very new to desktop/log style vapes so please bear with me :). I used the tinymight for a while before expanding my collection to include a couchlog, but I’m finding myself frustrated with the size of the bowl that comes with the wooden stem. I’m a little overwhelmed by all the alternate possibilities… is there a glass stem with an adjustable bowl, like the tinymight, that can be used with the couchlog? I’ve heard the E-nano XL stems work, has anyone tried that out? Also I see this glass bowl linked above - this looks like it sits in a water piece, which I might also be interested in trying… any tips? Apologies for all the dumb questions, thank you all so much for your help!
