Greetings to my fellow gadget happy FC'ers. I want to record about 30 gigabytes of mp3 per session at 256 kbs. I want to record all ambient sound in my yard for a 24 hour period. Check my arithmetic? I don't intend to try to record better than my ears can hear. I will not be using a zoom or shotgun mic. The audio quality that my TASCAM DR-07 records is adequate, but the wall wart introduces a hum and the flash storage is way too limited, and I want an accurate recording of dBCs. I would like to process it speed it up into audio that lasts about an hour. How much of an issue will RAM be? Any new tek or kluges?
