I have never smoked anything before. I feel that's a good piece of information to begin with. I have recently been curious about portable vaporizers, but I really wanted to avoid tobacco and nicotine (essentially any form of harmful/addictive chemical/substance). I head about vaporizers, E-Cigs, etc. a few years ago, and I'm very interested. How do you recommend I get into the whole thing? All I'm looking for is a "clean," portable unit that basically uses flavored water vapor. Preferably, a rechargeable, refillable model. I have a budget here of about $50-60. If this is a bad idea all together, please let me know as well.

If you want to avoid chemical substances, what are you planning to vaporise? Inhaling anything is inherently inhaling chemicals.

EDIT: Are you talking about vaporizing just for the flavor? Because if that's the case, you should consider essential oil aroma therapy over directly inhaling anything high in essential oils if health is a real concern. The SOLO comes with an attachment for it I believe.

I meant harmful or addictive chemicals as in tobacco, nicotine, etc. I should have been more specific.

EDIT: I'm also looking to try a vaporizer for the sake of trying it, I want the experience as much as anything else.

There are non nicotine E juice mixes, but the health risks of inhaling those is debated. There have been few studies on the e-cigg additives PG or VG used to make e-cigg juice, but since most e cigg studies being done right now are focusing on the health effects of vaporized nicotine. Some of the members here that are more familiar with electronic cigarettes could probably give a better answer.

Not sure which one of us is confused... you want to avoid tobacco and nicotine but want a vaporizer/ecig that's clean and uses flavored water? This site talks about a different kind of vaporizer that isn't "refillable" with flavored juice, we refill with "herbal materials" that happen to be green and sticky and smell like weed. Some of us do like to use ecigs (they're being called "personal vaporizers" now, to make things more confusing...), which I think is what you're referring to especially with a $50-60 price range. Nothing inherently wrong with wanting to get into ecigs especially if you intend to vape 0mg juice (AKA no nicotine, just flavor), just understand that the health effects of it aren't 100% understood yet. Nowadays it's easier to get into ecigs, perhaps something like a variable voltage battery and an EVOD or Aero Tank? Then you'd need juice.

I would advise you to avoid it, but I'm an ecig user and you're going to want to use a vv battery and a tank. Its all about the ejuice from there. I don't cheap out on the juice, but my setup is kind of cheap. Anyway, I'm getting the new aspire nautilus mini soon (supposedly very good). I use an an ego cig. That set up will cost you like 50-60$. I found five pawns and virgin Vapor to be my favorite for ejuice.

I think it would be helpful if you told us WHY you want to vape.
Me, half the time I'm trying to get high, the other half I just find blowing clouds to be relaxing.

If you want to vape mj, then this forum is a good place for info. If you want to use e-cigs to vape the products that work well with those vaporizers, you're better off on the forum linked by Kief.
