Boundless Tera

Micro-dosing is something I've been reading here. One of the reasons I'm thinking about the M, the other being I'm smoking roughly the same weight in flower as I did burning flower in my bong.

I think I may have to get one in the 420 sales or something (my CFX is only two months old xD )

I was going to suggest an IH, but I can see you've already got one from Pipe's (another toy that would be on my list if I had VC :p ) .

Thank you for the reply jerseydvd, looking forward to reading your take on the Tera ;)
Get an M regardless of any other vape you have. You’ll be happy you did, plus the price is pretty negligible.
Next stop, Tera!

First look impressions just posted on Planet of the Vapes (in stock there too)

Why is namastevapes so cheap? They adjusted the price a little bit but it still only costs 159€ or 149₤ :o.

BOUNDLESS TERA VAPORIZER FIRST LOOK
Boundless Boundless Tera First Look

There’s no shortage of mid-size, portable vapes vying for your attention. It’s an attractive category, with better battery life and vapor quality than you’d find on smaller options. The Boundless Tera vaporizer sets itself apart from the competition with user-swappable batteries, huge clouds, and a mostly convective style heat that keeps your herbs cool between hits.

FAST FACTS
  • $219.99 Retail price
  • Mostly convection hybrid heating
  • 0.15 - 0.25 Grams bowl capacity
  • Full digital temperature control 140° - 446° F / 60° - 230° C
  • Concentrate mode 500° F
  • 4.25 in x 2.25 in x 1.5 in | 10 oz
  • 45 seconds heat up time to 390° F (53 seconds to max temp 446° F)
  • 3 Year warranty on workmanship and defects, 90 days on batteries
  • Available in Black only
BIG, TASTY CLOUDS
Boundless fans will immediately recognize Tera’s nice airflow. Straight down the middle -- not too wide, not too restrictive. The result is big clouds, with little learning curve, and a better taste than other vapes we’ve tested from Boundless. You don’t have to stir mid-bowl either, which helps keep things moving along. Plus, the oven cools down quickly between hits, so you won’t cook your herbs if you set it down for a minute with the heat on.

HEATS UP IN 45 SECONDS
The Tera vape should reach your target temperature in 45 - 65 seconds, depending on how hot you like it, and how much juice is left in the battery. That beats out some other slower convection vaporizers in the category, like the Mighty vaporizer, which can take 90 seconds or more to heat up. You won’t be sitting around waiting for it to reach the target temperature, but there are definitely better options out there for a quick single hit on the run.

PORTABLE, NOT POCKETABLE
The Tera vaporizer isn’t particularly pocketable, instead, it slides into a mid-size portable category with some of our favorite vapes, the Storz & Bickel Mighty vaporizer and Arizer Solo 2. It’s easy to carry around the house or throw in a bag and feels solid in hand. The magnetic closure for the mouthpiece and battery door keep everything from falling out, without causing trouble when you actually need to open them.

THREE BUTTONS. SIMPLE SCREEN
The Boundless Tera’s onboard display shows temperature, battery level, and dry herb or concentrate mode indicators. There’s a main button for powering on the device, and up and down temperature buttons -- simple and straightforward.

DRY HERB OR CONCENTRATE USE
Clicking the power button three times switches the devices to concentrate mode, which pushes the heat to 500° F. It’s a slightly aggressive temperature, which can lead to harsh vapor and a hot mouthpiece, but it gets the job done if you have some wax burning a hole in your pocket.

Boundless_Tera_Batteries_1024x1024.jpg

SWAPPABLE BATTERIES
One of the best features of the Tera vape is when the power runs low, you can just swap in some fresh 18650 batteries. Basically, you can vape for as long as you want with a wall charger and a couple extras.

In our initial battery test of our demo unit, the Tera ran for 40-50 minutes of continuous vape time. In practice, that means about seven to ten sessions. That said, there are whispers the production units that are almost to the warehouse will have different batteries. We will be conducting another full test and write up a detailed review soon using one of the production units.

HEATS UP OVER TIME
No vape is perfect, and the pre-production version of the Boundless Tera gave us a bit of harshness with those big clouds at higher temperatures. Over time the unit got a bit warm and the concentrate setting does the work needed but felt too warm for comfort.

As mentioned, we will be writing up a full review using a production unit and will keep you posted on any changes we find.

A SOLID VAPE FOR CONVECTION CLOUD SEEKERS
On paper, the Tera is an excellent offering from Boundless, with user-swappable batteries, big clouds, and great flavor. It takes a swing at some of the best vapes on the market and finds a few ways to improve on a burgeoning category.

Price seems about right (give or take 10-20). Specially when you compare the price of other Boundless products.

I feel like its worth noting these are pre-production units (I think thats why they dont talk too much about performance). Plus, they changed from the heating elements to SS since then (I would assume?)

No it does not. It's 219 dollar/euro's everywhere but Namaste.

Since Boundless is active in this thread; how come?

I assume they're using that value as a placeholder. After all 220 dollars isn't 220 euroes (as much as some company's would like you to believe :p ).

I think namastevapes made a mistake, that that page should probably be a pre-order page. And even if they price is wrong, I believe they're in there right to cancel the order (only after its dispatched can they not).

Plus (and this is HIGHLY speculative) I don't think anyone (currently) outside Boundless has stock, I mean, Boundless only got them from there Chinese supplier a few days ago, and I doubt their manufacturer shipped multiple packages to retailers around the world (Puffit doesn't have a page up yet, and I would have thought they would have been one of the first retailers).

They're a FC sponsor, so I'd take their word on that :p .
namastevapes is also an official Boundless retailer (Same as Vaposhop), so I wouldnt worry about taking a risk ;)

So has anyone that has received a tracking number yesterday actually seen any shipment?
Still says that label was created, but that's it.
Figured if they were packing them up and putting labels on that they'd have been at the post office first thing today.....
Just curious. Never know, I've received stuff before the post office even registers the tracking before...

Nevermind, just got an update. Says expected delivery day is tomorrow the 15th!
May have a first report tomorrow if that’s accurate!

I received the update and a notice from BNDLS notifying me that they have sent me a package from USPS but it did not include a tracking number. Anyone get a tracking number or just the USPS notice that they've have shipped a package to you?

I think the Tera will give the Mighty a run for its money...They are both beasts and the Mighty has more conduction probably and the Tera has more Convection, so it will be interesting to see how they compare!

I went to the website to get the tracking number from my account at boundless. The tracking number just says shipping label blah blah blah though.

Edit: Just looked again and it says expected the 17th :(

At least we’ll all have our preorders by the weekend it looks like. We cut it so close with Chinese New Year. I’m happily surprised!

I wonder if you can change the rotation of the screen? It would be nice to be able to draw with the swivel mouthpiece and read the screen right side up but no biggy. I know some vape s can flip the screen but don't remember which ones. If like to have seen some color in their display again like the CFX that had such a cool lcd.

Vaposhop has some more pics of the Tera, chamber, sides etc.

Please make some vids and a review!!!

Does anybody know what a material the heater is?
Is it the same way complete isolated from the airpath like the alternate's where the air don't comes in contact with the aluminum ceramic heater?
