I am not sure this doesn't belong in the PAX2 thread, though this is more a generality question as opposed to the specific model.
I am thinking of getting a PAX 2, which of course comes with a USB charging cord, but a dock that can accept power from a PAX 1 wall charger.
So, both the PAX(s) and the Ascent charge from a 9vdc transformer, but the output on my Ascent charger is listed as 3000ma (3A). I don't know, but will assume the PAX charger has a lower output (perhaps 1 amp?).
If the polarity and plug dimensions are the same could I use the Ascent charger to charge a PAX 2?
Will the ~3 times more amperage cause me problems?
Battery charging, not my strong area.
The reason I ask as I have read elsewhere that the PAX 2 doesn't like USB wall chargers, which I have several of, but am seeking a reliable alternative to charging from a computer USB.
Also, if the 'extra' amperage won't be a problem, but the connector/polarity are different/reversed, could I make an adapter to change from the Ascent plug to the PAX jack and/or polarity?
