@Morty, Thanks Homie !! You posted 2 great tracks by 2 great artists . Arrested Development played a free show in my home town about 14 years ago and they were amazing !! I was also lucky enough to catch the Digable Planets reunion tour last year and it was a bucket list moment for me . Digable Planets have always had a place in my playlist .
Bumpin this right now ..

@Morty , bummed I never got to see Tribe . I did see Phife Dawg when he was on tour promoting the Ventilation : Da Lp album . He was great . When I lived in Florida , Tribe came through on their reunion tour . All other shows were affordable , but the venue they were at that was close to me charge $400 for general admission !!!! That was out of my range at the time . Still sad I had to miss it .
Here’s a few more I listened to today
This is a NY hardcore band that likes to incorporate hip hop , jazz into their music ..

My man! Thank you for this! Seriously diggin' it hard! Love, love, love the vibraphones! People don't understand till you see (feel) them live. Reverberates through your whole being! Still my favorite instrument.

Jazz is freedom!

$400 for general admission !!!!
:o Fuck! For 4 bills, I'll just buy a fat sack, vape my nutz off & fog out the car while listening to the CD's. :science:

Dude, this place is hot fire! This is where all the Jazz guys go where I live to play the real shit after their paying gigs. This place is unreal! Some of the coolest shit I've ever seen...usually for no more than a $10er! Everyone should experience music like this at least once in their lives. Jams that can sometimes go on for hours non-stop! So so hip...

Agreed !! I actually discovered my love for jazz through hip hop . I love a great jazz sample or remix !!!!

DJ Spinna killed this Donal Byrd remix

Dope! How about this classic

Dope !!! Of course Jeru always gets props , but I feel like Naughty By Nature were very under rated ...
Bumpin this Gza remix right now ..

i heard this in the background of a review on something....can't remember what.

@olivianewtonjohn , that whole Jazzmatazz album was dope . And it was a nice change because it actually involved the jazz players .
Anybody remember US3 ??
They were heavily jazz influenced . They hit the mainstream with this ...
I think they are still making music , but I haven’t kept up with them ...
@Dr. Strangelove never heard that , but I like it !!!

I'll do a bit of catching up later, the 'hip hop thread' neglect line have been on to me.

@needalift mate I was just thinking the other day 'I wonder if he's heard this?'
Not quite hip hop but a great tune

And as you mentioned the UK how about a bit of a get together of a couple of my favourites from both sides of the water.

@phattpiggie , didn’t mean to put you on the spot homie , just hadn’t seen you around here in a while .
I love Thievery Corporation !! That Ocean Wisdom joint is dope too . You can’t go wrong with Meth on the track !!!
How about some Louis Logic ..

@felon167inc I couldn’t agree more . Music is the goods !! Any genre . I’ve had a conversation going with @Morty that started with Roy Ayers , and it has ran the gambit of genres since it started . You can just about pick any genre and spend a few minutes and come up with a dope track from that genre .
Never listened to Chronnix , but he sounds good . Not the same , but reminds me of Collie Buddz
That Nyoil joint is serious !!!! Premier , Rakim , Nas , and KRS-One couldn’t be called anything but classic !!!!! Great posts homie !!!! I recently caught KRS live and that dude is still on top of his game . It’s like he’s still in his 20s , but with the wisdom of a god that’s been here forever ...
@Razshiro , you hit a soft spot in my heart with Ice Cube . I caught him live a few years ago and it was amazing as well . He puts it all out there for the fans and doesn’t let the fame get to him ( at least it seemed that way ) .

^^ all fire . Keep that good shit coming .
That whole deal with Bam was fucked up , and really hit me hard . KRS definitely took an L with his stance on that . I hope that 13 and good was meant to be an eye opening fictional story and not a hint to how he lives. Being a father , I can’t even wrap my head around abusing kids ....
Geto Boys , Rakim your killin it . And Big L !!

Some gritty 90s underground ..

Yeah, that ^^

And Big L !!
Underrated AF (IMO).

Remember buying Tony Touch mixtapes on cassettes on the street uptown? Remember hearing all those Hot 97 DJs before they swapped to TV or satellite radio jobs? Remember when Soundbombing II fed the souls of the backpack crew? Remember when Outkast woke everyone up and put the coasts on notice? Remember when Lauryn dropped “Miseducation ...”?

I remember!

Big L Is definitely underrated!!! He was definitely on of the illest lyricists ever !! As for Soundbombing II , I still bump that shit !! Was definitely a fan of OutKast ( Aquimini and the previous albums ) . I’m not hating on Stankonia and beyond , just preferred their beginnings over their ending . Miseducation is still in my rotation too . I actually recently copped an OG copy on vinyl !! I missed out on the Tony Touch mixtapes and Hot 97 , being from the south . But luckily I didn’t fall into the trend of only appreciating southern hip hop like most people down here . I am a fan of damn near every genre of music , but I think hip hop has the biggest hold on me . I though with age it would fade , but it just seems to get stronger ..
a little lord quas in the headphones right now ...
