chadb has had no glass blowers standing over his shoulder, i dont think atleast. He did some homework and went at it. I think all it really takes is somebody being courageous to invest and try it themselves. Its a trade, it can be learned. Keep it up chad...

And chad, that weld would be a lot easier if you had two flames... buy a hothead, so you can keep two points hot at the same time. or just get a hand torch as well if you wanna be super pro, but a hot head will do the trick for getting that bottom connection to move while you connect the top... like buttah.. i assume thats the problem youre having... lil geoff taught me that.

thanks andy, he's right, i dont... im one of very few glasblowers in my town, sure denver, there are thousands of em.... but im over an hour away, i had to drive everyday up to that town and was lucky enough to spend time in a place like Swagger, just to WATCH someone do something for a few weeks, let alone have someone let me play on their torch just a few times, was enough to get me hooked. regardless, im pretty sure i woulda bought a torch either way it was just gonna happen... now that i melt things i now understand why most arent ready to jump at you to help, its a learning experience that you just have to fuck a lota stuff up to even get started...so worth it, one min im pissed something broke, next day im stoked to fire off the oxygen concentrator in the morning... cant explain it. not to mention all the skin on my hands its kinda melted...blistery.

Would love to learn how to glass blow. I have been watching alot of traditional videos, and I wish they offered something like that instead of shop class or home economics in high school :D

Don't disrespect home economics, you only need to make a piece of glass once but you need to satisfy the munchies every time you use it.

I just wanted to drop in and say that I think it's really cool the way you're showing your progress in this thread. It's inspiring to see how quickly you seem to be learning, you definitely seem to have a real mind for invention and you're not afraid to experiment which is awesome. Keep up the good work.
