VapeXCase:

I got the email about them , the medtainer has been out for quite some time now , looks like they put there logo on them. The case is cool , I have had thoughts of making my own with a case and some pick n pluck foam but I don't really like taking the Evo out of the house. I heard the medtainers are cool though , I never tried one myself.

This is directed to the people who say the Vape xhale is the king of vapes have you people tried the verdamper, as i have a volcano to but my verdamper is much better, and the best vape I've tried, personally the vape xhale has too small a herb chamber so i wouldn't get too high but i wonder how much more efficient if at all my vape ( the verdamper ) would be if i vaped smaller amounts like 0.2g.
I never tried the vape xhale its looks that you can get a good cloudy hit but i just cant imagine it being better than the verdamper, so anyone try both?

You would have to go to the verdamper thread but not a lot of people outside of Europe have ever tried one. That said, one could look at the diffrences in how the heaters are designed and draw a pretty good conclusion about which would perform better IMO. The Verdamper technology is a bit dated now IMO vs a vape like the Evo.

You would have to search to find it but there is at least one or two people who have posted previously on the topic and have tried both.

Edit. A rep from verdamper is a regular poster here i believe.

ok thanks but i dont think the thread it that active and i thought its best to ask here.

it seems as you have not tried the vape so i dont know why you want to assume the evo could be better, again i dont see the technology being outdated in any way, additionally as i said before i can fit large amounts in my vape much attributing to how effectively and quickly i can get baked, its very necessary for higher tolerances ( and just for this reason if i cant fit 1g+, then it takes more hits/longer and i cant get as stoned and im wasting herb by not vaping all my dose in a single go)

and its pretty cool to have someone from the company post here but asking them which is the best vape on the market or wether the evo is better isnt getting me anyway, thanks tho
any help is appreciated, peace.

Mod note: This is off topic for this thread. Please ask these questions in the VerDamper thread.

Hey listen up!
If you don't get a EVO your dumber than a door knob!

Of all the ones I tried the EVO has been the easiest to use!
I forgot the FLAVOR is all time.
BAGS are not a thing and I'm afraid I won't like the taste!

I can't smoke joints anymore because flavor spoiled me!

Does anyone think my 2nd Hydratube purchase should be a Turbine or a HydraBomb? :D If I had to purchase one based on looks alone, it would obviously be the HydraBomb.

I already own a knockoff HydraTube from Steven.. Would I be missing out if I paired that up with the HydraBomb instead of the Turbine? Or does anyone think Steven's knockoff HT offers similar flavor to the Turbine?

I'm personally not a fan of how the Turbine looks. Does anyone know if the glass ontop of the bottom 4 slits are additional percs? Or just a splashguard? The only thing that makes me want to purchase the Turbine is the claim that it offers the maximum flavor...

Hi Unidenwallet, the section you mention is the actual turbine function of the hydratube and yes it is a type of perc :)

Guys, still no answer...

Has anyone reclaimed his HT?
I mean, its seems tough to pull...

Also how do you clean your HT without reclaiming?

Is the HT dishwasher safe?

Much thanks!

When reclaiming(which I never do) ISO wash should work.

If you want to clean and NOT reclaim, use salt+ISO.

On my HT I use denture cleaning tablets and let sit for 1-2 hours. Comes out looking brand new.

A couple of months ago I returned my Turbine Hydratube to @VapeFiend.com as I never enjoyed using at and was convinced something was wrong with it- as it felt extremely restrictive to draw through. Vapefiend found one of the perc holes sealed up - so they gave me an option to swap it for another.

I requested to wait till they received stock of the Hydrabomb - which came in yesterday and it works really well.

qd3RAMB.jpg

Let me just say this first : I really appreciate Vapefiends service , they could have made me wait till they got their stock of Hydratubes to send me a replacement but instead they took one of the tubes allocated to be sold with an Evo and sent that to me next day to avoid me waiting any longer.

The piece itself was visually disappointing. I am one of the few here that was a bit vocal regarding VXL's drop in QC when it came to the HT'S. I just think at this price they should follow some measurement guidelines or soemthing so customers aren't getting products of such varying quality. @CarolKing posted his Hydrabomb a few pages back that is the quality I would expect from a vaporizer of this caliber. Nice big can proportionate to the overflow chamber and the rest of the piece.

The matrix perc takes up most of the space in the can . No problem but the only way the perc fires is with the water covering the perc - which requires filling up more then half of the can, but as the can is soo small water will be shooting up the neck of the mouthpiece which leaves me watching that space in case it shoots me a drink .

The performance is good though it has a very nice tight seal on the Evo and just purrs away when you take a draw. It is definitely the most free flowing HT I have had the good fortune of owning.

The flavor on the turbine was definitely better but I couldn't comment on the draw restriction as my turbine was faulty in that regard. I also like how the neck is long enough so I can watch that vapor build up in the can before clearing it.

All in all I am happy I chose the Bomb over the Turbine. I have steven's HT for when I want flavor and less draw restriction. I just wish VXL could help their customers more when it came to glass. Please post some function videos of your glass on your site and some more detailed pics . So confusing you see one video of the same tube and it looks complete different, don't think that is right.

One thing I will say is that I would not pay full price for these Hydratubes, as it seems a gamble as to what quality of tube you would receive IMO. Maybe one of the limited edition ones they release in the future but not their standard stock. This is not a post bashing VXL - just an honest opinion of a VXL product which I know could be better.

Edit : Here is @CarolKing Tube for reference ( same price , same company )

I don't have ISO.
I have SD 40 which has Denatonium salt...

So not sure if I want to use it for cleaning...

I will however, have pure 99% Ethanol (drinkable if watered down correctly) for reclaiming...

So you would, seal the HT from below, and shake the HT for few minutes, then pour everything out and let it evaporate?

Yes.

I'm wondering how are you evoprating the ISO? boiling point at 82C ... hot water?
Well I can't seem to get that in my country anyway...

I just use time. No rush for me.

Will vinegar work?

OH well...I'm feeling stupid...the Ethanol will take care ;)
I will never clean my HT without reclaiming...

SD40 is for ELB's and the salt melts at 170C or close to it...so I can put them in my oven at 200C for few minutes ;)

i wish you wouldn't say I'm being off topic I'm trying to get any help, whats more likely that a few people that have a verdamper here have tried a evo, or the large amount of people who have evo's here have tried a verdamper or has some info.

Again I'm not so much interested in buying a evo as my verdamper will get me higher quicker, as the herb chamber is pretty large, although id be interested in seeing if the flavour is more pure in the evo...

Im asking if anyone who has honestly tried both so i can see what they think any differences are and also give me any info or things i might want to improve as i might make my own huge custom glass vape, so i want to know the function and comparisons of top of the line vapes.

Thanks to anyone who helps

Wow. Those two hydrabombs look completely different. I am planning to purchase during 4/20 sale and hope they improve consistency. I definitely don't want to take a drink when using the ht.

So the first evening with the EVO was interesting, but definitely enjoyable. :D I started with some ground up matter I had that was a mix of 3 sativas and an indica. I've found it to be a little anxiety inducing so I am trying to finish that up, I normally grind enough to get me through 3-5 days at a time for convenience. So this stuff, my EVO was blowing clouds, my throat tickled quite a bit making me wonder if I should have went with the hydrabomb instead of the Turbine, but I liked it. The feeling to me is somewhere between vaping flowers and vaping wax out of a pen, it has that wax pen kind of more focused and clear headed high but totally potent. I've also never used a convection vaporizer, I realized the taste is much better all the way through the bowl, I had very little to no popcorn taste.

So for the second session, I ground up some blueberry indica, and the vapor was much much wispier even though I turned it up to about 2 o'clock. You could still see some visible vapor, but not much and the ELB was finished rather quickly, maybe 5-6 hits. This same indica in my Haze v3 seems to create much thicker vapor which I found to be odd, especially since the sativa mix I mention above was very impressive with vapor production.

Not a big deal, but it makes me think maybe I'm missing some technique and it's user error. One thing I thought I might be not getting right is that it was suggested to me not to pack these at all but just leave them loose. Even ground up matter I am surprised how little it takes to fill this thing completely up if you don't tamp it at all.

Maybe I need to tap the basket on the counter to at least settle it so a bit more fits? Do you guys tamp it down a bit at all? I feel like I get way more flower in one of my Haze chambers than in the EVO ELB and I don't know if that's just the way it works, or if I am actually putting too little and leaving it too loose in the ELB. Also, I have a 4 pc grinder I use, medium grind. Any pointers would be appreciated, I wish I had a scale to tell you what I am getting in there but I don't.

I still payed full price for my evo - £485 ( $669 to be exact ) so after paying that much you would be disheartened to get the lesser quality product available- especially after knowing what they are capable of producing like @CarolKing's hydrabomb.

Hi,

Should I be worried that I can blow through the bamboo tube, while covering one hole? Air seems to be escaping from the top vents. Never dropped it since I got a replacement tube from it dropping initially. However, I have been super careful. I noticed that it used to make a crackling noise when preheating.

Please never use ISO if you're going to use it to reclaim your pieces. ISO alcohol has isopropyl in it, which is a poison. Isopropyl is added to it so people won't consume it. I understand that it evaporates easily, but you shouldn't be putting it in your medicine unless you have equipment (vacuum oven) to extract most of it. ISO should only be used to clean your piece, not to reclaim oil.

You should definitely use ethanol! It's much safer because it is food-grade. It's made for human consumption. Over here I use 95% Everclear. Ever clear is safe for reclaiming oil. :)

The lack of QC on the new tubes is why I haven't bought any of them. Past year bought the 2 last Swagger they got and I love them! But I will never pay full price to receive a crocked perk or a non working one. Happy to know tha @VapeFiend.com took care of you, that's why I always buy from them. Best shop ever!

I have 3 Swagger now and I wish VXL would partner with them again, best HT's IMHO.

So far I've been really happy with the Hydrobomb. I don't always put water in it either. It works well dry too. Used some Platinum GSC and the dry Hydrobomb last night. I started at temp 11:00 and worked up to 1:00 at the end. It has great flavor. The PGSC tasted so great I didn't want to hide any of the taste using water.

Got a nice bit of variety in my stash so that meant I have been putting quite a bit of mileage on the EVO.....the TASTE!!! SO great.

Looking at the photos, I am very thankful I got the EVO when I did with the Evolver Hydratube....I was thinking about this last night when I was using it. I literally can just walk over to the EVO station, tilt my head down just a tad, and hit the EVO without it ever leaving my counter.....don't think I'd be able to do that with the sidecar tubes TBH. Look a little too short. Plus it is such a nice piece :)

@VapourLove have you tried the EVO? I ask because if you have not tried the vape I would not assume the Verdamper to be better....per your own words.
