Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
 I've procrastined so much my report here, also been favoring Daisy since I got it actually, but the WonG works very well with Lily for water and with a big dry mouthpiece. I had mentioned the looseness issue, and it seems to have gotten worse actually, but still works fine and looks so fucking stunning a photo won't do it any kind of justice. The fine grains and subtley variable coloring of the Blackwood are just so gorgeous in person...

mFliTIE.jpg

Perfect for the inline honeycomb, I can leave the WonG in the bubbler and just pull the Lily out since its loose, works well no problem

bOzq6Le.jpg

Dry 18mm glass mp (from FC-mod) turns Lily into small bowl Daisy (can do this with a GonG too, as I posted earlier in the Lily thread)

Now the Blackwood dry stem fits nice and tight in the Lily, but the smaller mp extender part does not, has to be held in with lips and can't stow securely (Ed had to rush a bit and knew about the fit issue with mine, but as I said I don't care one bit, normally it all fits tight)
2ksKhUh.jpg

UYSmxCE.jpg

However I don't mind one bit bc I only really wanted the shorter wider part anyway, it fits very secure, nice and tight, and does a great job cooling the vapor better than the stock stem all by itself. It is also more durable, secure, and looks so much better imo (I prefer this to the narrower mouthpiece too, but I will probably use that as a whip mp)

Zuoh4mw.jpg

The WonG was more of prototype, so I'm sure it will fit snug in the future. It also could be made a bit longer, so it can fit into more water tools, like a hydratube like this for example
3Oa1Dcd.jpg

(I took out the stem of the WonG and replaced it with the wide mouthpiece, long enough and tight enough now, but it's actually a bit too narrow to seal so this is just for show really)

All in all wood stems from Ed unsurprisingly make the Lily even more of a collectable, with greater function, durability, and versatility!

So i just picked up a stem for the enano. I like it quite a bit but its a very loose fit in the enano, and wobbles quite a bit. Is that normal?

Good afternoon all, gosh what a few days it has been down my way, got alot done Id say again, had a great time with my boys out in the shop and really looking forward to the weather warming. Am taking the boys to their first 4H meeting tomorrow night and get them involved in that, should be fun! We worked on Connors shave brush got it all done then worked on his clock which both turned out amazing! Carter had a bad go at a couple of pens, both split during assembly just had a bad spot in one and the other went in the wrong direction, ohhh my gosh was he upset and frustrated, he said "Dad thats it for me, I am done" I went to him, gave him a hug, I saw and knew his frustration, I have felt it many many times and it still sucks, I told him hey some days are good, some days are bad, we just take them one day at a time, today was a bad day, hopefully the next will be better. Seems thats life, we have to take the bad with the good and pray there is more good than bad. Still putting back here and there for the summer vacation, bout got enough saved for fuel, that is going to be the biggest expense but getting close to having that covered and that is a big deal. Now to get right down to it, here is what we have been up to, time for Show & Tell

First up is a 6" Bog Oak Nano stem for a great friend of mine, I am sure when she stops by she will know exactly who she is! I couldnt help myself and just had to show her off, really like the way this piece turned out, what a beauty, the lines and grain in it are spectacular!

Here we have a Katalox combo, 14mm long draw stem & 18mm WPA tried to get them both made from the same piece but hey wasnt such a great day for me either

Here we have a Black Walnut Nano set

These are a set for the Underdog, one with my bushing and the other with UD's tip

These are a few pieces I did for quick beta testers while I was at it, these are for the Zion/Milaana headed out today and tomorrow, 18mm Maple stems

Check out this curly Maple Shave Brush/Stand my oldest made, really dig this

Curly%20Maple%20Shave%20Brush%20amp%20Stand%20-%20The%20Crafty%20Carver_zps8mlz1vi1.png

If anyone is interested pls let me know, we are going to get the parts to make a matching straight razor to hang on the left side, should be sweet!

Now for the crown jewel, he really did a number on this piece and believe it or not it could use a home to hang in, Black Walnut Burl live edge slab

Walnut%20Burl%20Live%20Edge%20Slab%20Wall%20Clock%20-%20The%20Crafty%20Carver_zpsnozhl6wu.png

It really is neat to see how much beauty was in that piece hidden from the rough look it had at first, wow what a piece!

@Madcap79 I didnt think it was many but do remember one or so and you are right it was so long ago, gosh the time flies! Got those pieces out to you this morning, I remember you said you were skipping town, hopefully you will be back when they arrive and cant wait to hear what you think of all those pieces, thanks so much for the work and the fun I had making them!!!

@Shit Snacks Better late than never bro, well done on all the pics and words, I am glad to hear that you are happy with those pieces and appreciate you for letting me do what I do, that also was fun and took a little thinking to make happen but all worth it my man! I appreciate all the kind words and wish you all the best. Looking forward to what you think of the next piece headed your way homie, keep me updated!

@sve Hello, glad you got one of those pieces, ahh yes they arent made to be tight tight, they are what they are and have always been, they simply fit over and around the heat port of that unit, they are kinda loose and will not sit just nice and snug on that unit. They are made as an alternative to the glass, I just simply load mine after a quick finger grind and hover over the heat port slowly inhaling, this works best for me and hope you are finding it to work rather well for you also.

@little maggie Hello and thanks for stopping by, I am thinking the same thing and am really starting to evaluate my situation. I am going to finish up the last few remaining pieces on my custom work list and take a break from it for a short while, I just dont have the time to do everything, my guy I have helping me in the shop is working out but has a day job and kids of his own, he doesnt get out as much as I need him to but is a help none the less. I am always jumping in a hole and climbing out to only jump in another as far as work goes. My biz has really gotten to where I had hoped it would one day go, I am having alot of thoughts and making a lot of decisions about its future and what is feasible and what isnt, one thing is certain, I am slowing down in some areas and ramping up in others, I am doing alot of thinking and trying my best not to come to hasty conclusions. One thing I know is that there is really only one of me, I am sleeping and do so love my rest, I am not going where I once was, so I have to figure out how to do all this with a clear head and honest heart. What I do know is that there are great days ahead and I am happy to be where I am and to see them with a clear conscience and peace of mind, what a blessing!

Speak of devil! Look what the post just dropped off! Still a bit speechless....

Here is this AMAZING red wood 14/18 mm redwood. Mostly for travel and dry use.

Wish I could capture the grain better, but Samsung dropped my macro setting for cam in the last update I accepted...

It's beautifully amazing!

And here next to it is a blood wood 18.8 mm.... Again cam fails to capture the POOPING detail of this piece. Looks way better in person, trust me.

And lastly, the multi tool!! Been so excited about this! It mixes, tamps, and removes the c clip! All in one!

Hello and good afternoon, I hope all is well out there for you all! Its such a nice day down here, is already in the 60's still warming more, am working on taxes and all the weekly admin stuff like normal this time of week. Had a great few days as of last, got a lot done in the shop knocked out a bunch of VC woodies that I hear have been bought up quicker than I could get them up there, look out! Spent Friday with my girl at her BF's wedding, she was one of the bridesmaids, was looking beautiful I must say, yeah the bride looked good too, lol! The wedding was outside by a lake, had big cypress trees in it with a few ducks splashing around, it was under a large wooden timber open ceiling pavilion with vines growing around the sides of it, very cool. We did the reception afterwards and bounced out to the house. Friday was her BDay so we did something for her the next day, went to the city to a quaint area that had been slowly coming back for a while, they had a great little oyster bar, I have never really been into oysters, never thought much of em but am about trying new things, looked like a neat spot. Got a dozen on the half shell, a half dozen fried with crawfish tails, a big shrimp poboy, my girl got crawfish pasta, had a few drinks took a stroll on the sidewalks round the area and had a great night then as well. The boys stayed the weekend with their mom but I got them signed up for 4H shooting sports earlier in the week. Had a another great day in the shop for a little while then got the boys for church, what a weekend! Getting alot done, got my Milaana in Friday, seems the postal lady just dropped it off on the front porch, me being out in the back in the shop never knew, seems Major got a little curious, it and my custom made all wood duck call was all over the yard, OMGosh, I could have beat him, ughhhh! luckily he never got really interested in either and I was able to find both and was vaping in 3-4 hours with my new vape, gotta say yall, the Milaana is going to be the ticket, super easy to use, a simple couple finger grind, suck into the stem like a straw, place in the vape, hold the heater button for 6-7 seconds then long steady draw, got ripped, by the third I was done, no need fo any mo, Really cool! Boys start the shooting range Thursday, then its every Thursday afternoon and every Saturday morning, good thing I have plenty of ammo, I have an addiction I must come clean about, whenever I go somewhere that sells ammo I have to buy at least a couple boxes of something, could be shotgun, rifle, or pistol, could be some of all depending on price, one thing is certain I have thousands or rounds, enough to fight off any attackers for quiet a while just so long as they have small arms. I cant help myself, when I see bullets I just cant leave the store without a box or two in hand, yall know the pending zombie apocalypse is right around the corner at some point and we have to be prepared for such an instance, its inevitable!

How bout the PO, seems they were good to quiet a few last week huh, well looky looky, love you alls show and tell!

@Reflections So glad your piece made it earlier than I thought and you were able to get right to using it! I hope you are enjoying it as it was really fun to make, thanks for all the cooperation and I hope all is well out your way!

@Madcap79 How bout that sun man, I wanna see more, BTW hows those pieces performing for ya? Am anxious to see and hear more about it all bro, pls do let me know and thanks for stopping by letting me know they had arrived!

@Slow Draw McGraw LOL bro, good one for sure, thanks for the grin you gave me!

@slatihe Watch out my man, you got your beauties as well! SO glad to see how much you like them, sometimes its just so hard to capture the beauty of the wood at times, you have done well! Was fun doing your pieces also, hope you enjoy them for a long long time to come bro!

@KeVo23 Ahh yes sir that is snakewood and what an amazing species it was to work, I had gotten it long ago and was excited to use it, however I learned quick why I hadnt before, yes it is very dense and heavy but will crack with just a tiny amount of pressure between centers on the lathe, ohhhh I was so disgusted with the first piece or two I turned that I just put it back and didnt do any more with it, when you wanted a surprise thats what I found when I went to digging and hey it turned out, what a blessing, that wood is so so spectacular its outa this world sexy bro, I so dig it! Hope you are enjoying it and thanks for your S&T!

Wish you all well and all the best!

Hi Ed, Seems you are busy as usual and also having a great time. Glad you get to have play time besides just shop work. I was shocked how quick the stem came..thanks she is a real beauty! I forgot, so you just lay the screen on end of wood stem and slide the metal sleeve on? Ill have to look back and see how the screen goes. Have you ever thought about buying a reloader for bullets? Sure is a lot cheaper! Hubby has a Dillon Precision reloader with a lifetime warranty on all pieces..he loves it. Have a great week.

Sooooo, what do you all think guys? A beta-Zion-Ed-stem. Well, one thing is for sure, it doesn't look like a beta version!

Such a sexy finish.

You've done an excellent job, as always Ed. Wonders never cease where your work is concerned.

Thank you so much bro.

Just took these shots as soon as I opened the package . . . . now time to run it through some quick & rigorous first-phase test patterns :science:

Usage report to follow. And check the Zion thread later for more pics & info too.

Dude, you must know, YOU ROCK!

That Zion looks 10x better with that gorgeous stem rather than glass. Beautiful! If I get a Zion, this is a must have!

I know lol it's kinda like telling you that water is wet.
Hahaha! Bang-on bro! :)

Oh, btw - early reports are exceedingly positive for this little piece of maple loveliness! So far it seems to be further smoothing out and rounding off those massive signature Zion hits . . . . I'm pretty stunned actually. It is a marked, & very interesting difference, imo.

Loving it!

Thanks again to you Ed
