You know what I took the cooling rod out and now it seems to work golden for flowers for me. A couple of good sessions off a bowl, batteries last a couple of bowls, I think this is gonna be good.

If it works better without the two main selling points (the cooling rod and the stir gizmo) aside from removable batteries (with the trade off of short runtime) what does this offer that one of the many other Chinese produced vapes on the market like the Flowermate Pro series already do for half the price?

That's what I hope to figure out here. I've got both Boundless vapes, two FlowerMates and some other stuff to compare it to.

Interesting to see the reviews as this vape is emerging. Seems a lot of people will be thrown off by these early review, but don't fret...there's always room for ugprades and improvements. Hopefully 7thfloor watches this thread, and if not, hopefully some people will contact them about their vape.

I'm sure if lots of people are asking for refunds, they'll figure out very quickly where their vape falls in line with the other conduction styles.

There's only so many ways to do conduction, and frankly, it seems it's been spent.

I hope for great things with 7thfloor, and I use my LSV as my daily on a constant basis. I know they can produce great things, but I don't think they realize the gravity of the portable vape industry.

How was the vapor production? Was there more of it with the cooling rod removed and tighter pack? Did it affect the temperature of the vapor at all or make it harsher?

Vapor production was fine. Inline with my other portables. The temperature was noticeably warmer without the cooling rod. (expected) It felt harsher, and I choked a bit on my second hit.

My main problem is still that it consumed .24 grams of material for 2.5 normal sized hits. That amount should have been plenty for 6-8 decent hits from all of my other vapes, except the PAX2.

Sounds like this vape manages to defy physics.

That's insane. I get 30 or more very large hits from that amount of weed in any portable, including the P2 (and the FF1 and 2, and the Mighty....). A 1/4 gram is a sizable amount of material. I can't fathom any non-combustion process that generates a single-digit number of hits from that sized mass.

I know you usually to get to know a vape before a review but I'd really like to hear your first impression tonight.

First session on 8 the whole time. vapor was very tasty on the first two hits and got progressively spent from there. I got about 8 to 10 hits, of which about half were satisfying and impressive. Very comfortable vapor throughout. The cooling system does its job. i stirred it and gave it several seconds to create vapor
after each hit. I kept hitting it until the 7 minute timer shut it off, which was two hits too long in my book. i dumped the load and it was dark coffee brown. i will use the bubbler next, but I don't see the need for it as the stock design cools wonderfully.

That's great news, and much better on efficiency.

Well, I think I found at least part of my problem. The air path seal had come loose at some point. (I made it more obvious for the picture, but in the unit, it was hard to notice.) The thin metal insert had come out of it's groove, and left a very tiny air path.

I can't imagine that would help a sub 2 minute session charring a full .24 gram bowl; but I'm sure it will help get much better extraction! :)

I can't wait to get it on this evening.

What temp are you using? Draw speed? Time between hits?

Start at 6, walking up .5 to 1 in between each hit. Usually ending around 7-8.

I take 6 full second draws on average. probably 20 or so seconds between hits

That seems like it could be your issue there Verax. I think too much airflow in there would cause excessive burning. Did you get better results last night? My Sidekick just arrived today so I won't get to try it out until tonight (my awesome wife has already got the batteries on the charger for me), so I will find out for myself really soon. I love my DaBuddha, and really hope the Sidekick lives up to the high expectations I have from the crew at 7th floor.

DISCLAIMER: I loosely represent 7th Floor on this forum and sell their products. Please keep this in mind when reading my opinions about this vape.
___________________________________________________________________________________

My first session that I reported on yesterday was with a lightly full bowl, like the instructions say to do.

After that session I did some testing. First I went with a very light load starting at 6. I didn't expect much and I didn't get much visible vapor, but the effects were there...consistent with a light load.

Then I had some fun and threw a whole nug in there, as I like to do. My thinking is with the stir tool I may not have to dump and crumble, and I was right. After about three hits it started to loosen up and I was able to use the stir tool to crumble up the nugget...very cool. My last session was a nightcap with a nug starting on a higher temp, because it was a nightcap, and I got the same results.

So I am getting consistent results without the inefficiency problems our other members were experiencing. The bowl is shorter and wider than your normal conduction vape and it can hold a decent amount. It gets up to temp very quickly, inside of a minute easily...probably more like 40ish seconds.

Pros:
- The design is well thought out.
- The cooling system does its job very well. No bubbler needed unless you just want it (I like mine...it feels high class).
- removable batteries
- modular design means I can take it just about completely apart for cleaning or whatever. I can even change the shell color if I want to order a different one.
- Glass mouthpiece feels nice
- Stir tool is great for me and my whole nugs
- fast heat up...not the absolute fastest with the Boundless vapes that just got released, but faster than the FM's, I think...it's close
- Display shows battery life, temp setting, whether or not it is heating or surfing, and a session timer
- feels really good in the hand with its curved surfaces.
- very customizable like a lot of 7th Floor products
- vibration feedback when up to temp

Cons:
- Portable but not discreet. About the height of a Mighty. Not awkward at all, just not discreet, especially with the bubbler.
- For me, the fact that it is a conduction vape is a con because it's not the way I like to vape. There are others who feel the exact opposite of me regarding this. I would love to see what members like @OF and @KeroZen think of this one, as they appreciate conduction vapes more than I do.
- Price is $300, which is more than any conduction portable I can think of. Now, I like it more than any other conduction vape I've tried, but the others are in the $100 to $150 range (except the Pax). But if you take those cheap portables and add all the bells and whistles this has (including the vapor cooling, stir tool and customization options like colors and glass), it can be justified.

Verdict After One Day:
This is one that will draw lines in the sand. I feel like some will love it and others will hate it. If you prefer conduction vapes and have no problem with the price, I think you will really enjoy this vape. If you are a convection whore like myself, you will find yourself thinking the only thing you would change is to make it convection. Truly, I like everything about this vape except the conduction aspect. I found myself thinking if I could take any of the on demand convection vapes that are about to be released and put them into this design it would be the shit.

7th Floor will continue to tweak this thing and changes will be coming soon. But they will mostly be tweaks like temp changes and small redesigns to parts like the one pictured above by @Verax (great pic again, btw!). So I think the choice is simple and comes down to what I said above...if you like conduction and are fine with the price it is a no-brainer. If you're like me and don't usually use conduction vapes, I'm not sure all the other great things about it will draw you away from your current favorite convection vape.

@steama , I hope you take full advantage of the money back guarantee and abuse that thing. I won't be able to devote myself to it for a bit, and I think you represent an unbiased, experienced resource for fc to use and report about it, if you're up to it. If I were ever going to sway towards conduction, this seems to be the one that would do it.
