Reunited and it feels so good!!!:luv:

I bought my first dog in February, it seemed to run good for the first few days. But seemed a little cooler and not getting my abv as dark. I first thought I needed a different outlet that wasn't drawing too much power else where (please excuse my ignorance on electricity). Once that didn't work I thought maybe since my house was built by my great grandfather that it was dated and just had weak power supply. Haha I had no idea why my pup was running cool. Summer months blow by and before I knew it I was moved into my own place with my gf and ran to the outlet to see if my dog would heat up hotter. Left it on for a few hours with no luck, even tried an over night heat up just to be sure, nothing.
Finally I was looking for an excuse not to offer a trade, this pup for some kids lsv with custom stems .
So I sent @underdog a quick pm asking if there was something I could try instead of a vvps. He told me that a batch of not up to par heaters got out to people before the issue was caught. He said mine sounded like one and recommended I sent the pup in for a check up.
I had the dog in the mail Wednesday afternoon before xmas eve.
It arrived Saturday, he had it fixed Sunday, and back in the mail by Monday!! This was a one week turn around with a holiday in the middle.:tup::rockon:
Quite unbelievable if you ask me, but then again the duo @underdog & @underdogette soo do u expect anything less..?;)

I got home from work tonight plugged it right in.... Heard a very familiar cracking sound. It was back up to par and running hotter than ever. I actually combusted the bowl on the second draw:doh:
I'm so happy to have this beautiful pup home and running better than ever!! Once again @underdogette and @underdog provided outstanding above and beyond customer service. On top of all of that there was a very special surprise in my package. A NEW SS STEM!!:o:o
I was planning to order one but was so busy Sunday and was having trouble getting a free shipping code to work I just said forget it I just need this pup in the air headed home, I can just get a ss stem later. I would like to send a huge thanks for that freebie I was taking back by the generosity truly great people:clap::bowdown::clap:

What more can I say but thanks underdog you guys really are the best.
Hope you have an awesome New Year!!
And that goes for the whole dogg pound gang stay safe!!

Hmm here is all my Stems in review.

Remember I have a standard core if that means anything. I have not played with the stems at all as far as modifying them with tips.

Glass is always going to taste good and if I want glass I use the glass. Yes a bit harder to clean but you get the purity.

In truth the Nylon is nice because it stays dirt free mostly and is easy to get clean when debris builds up. The SS tips I feel I can keep the dog on longer than the glass ends so I use the dog a little different with them. The flavor isn't hurt much, if at all. Just nylon stems hold less material.

Funny how the SS stem, without anything else, has the best flavor of the UD made stems though. With a 10mm attachment I have been paring it with water and letting loose.

Like I said in my last post though my favorite stem is Ed's. The wood is awesome and his SS tip is huge and goes around the UD heater, like the glass. They really should have him make them regularly for the dog as wood stems are perfect with it. Flavor kicks too.

I really like the UD vapor wet, but the SS stem produces the best dry vapor.

OK mikeben, on your word I pulled the trigger! The Nano stem is what you use right?

now to get my girl a Joda j-hook/bubbler and UD gong!

hey! first post here.

I discovered the underdog on reddit and after consideration I decided to order one. I received it fast and I'm already a big fan. Excellent work UD team!

when I'm not medicating, I'm using the UD for aromatherapy. I see here http://underdogvapes.com/vvps-links that 3-4.5v is the recommended voltage for the aromatherapy cup. I have the dimmer switch that's recommended (the Hitlights one from amazon). About where on the dimmer dial would be 3-4.5v?

There's not really a set setting- it depends on your vape and also the oil that you're heating. Some oils like to be hotter. Try the dimmer somewhere in the 25-50% range and play around with it to see where your oils smell the best. Remember too if you're in the room when they start, you might get used to the smell faster than it hits you (kind of like when you're cooking)- so walk out of the room every so often and come back in to smell it. :)

Just pulled the trigger today. Looking forward to getting the UD next week. I was wondering though, is it possible to use concentrates? If so how?

Welcome to the UD Pack Danksta! Yes, it is possible to use concentrates, but since that's not my area of expertise, I'll let some other pack members answer that one for you. :)

Concentrates will work but they aren't ideal flavor wise except in the SS stem. Like with all my Haze I use cut SS pads to keep it clean when I use them.

Ed made me a very nice wood stem just for the UD. It has a really huge SS stem that fits around the bowl of the dog. Great airflow. Totally worth it.

Posted to the "what vape" on New Year's thread and wanted to SO to the Dog Pound and say Happy New Year. Enjoying, appropriately enough, Dogwalker OG in my lovely little teak Underdog now!

If I needed reassurance that I did the switch to vaporizing "right" and picked good vapes:

My UD is my daily driver for flower along side the Haze V3.0.

I think you, me, and @mikeben all regularly use the same 2 vapes.

And my god, does this thing conserve herb!

Agree! I was shocked at how conservative this is, even compared to my other quality vaporizer. Amazing!

Do you have to use cotton?

I recently made some honeybud using my UD.

Do you have to use cotton?

Basically the bud is the cotton. I put a layer and then put the honeybud or shatter on top of it. If it's sticky wax I usually melt it on. If it's hard to get off I just smear it off against the SS tip.

Haven't tried straight concentrate though.

Have my new Birch Air Core Holiday Vape and loving it! Had a Tineo twig previously, but the core was not compatible with the new nylon stems, which I LOVE! Really love the wood grain and the black band.

I've enjoyed "micro dab" droplets of BHO/wax in my nylon stem. Push the screen all the way up, load a tiny layer of flower, glop the micro dab (small, like a black mustard seed used in Indian cooking) in there, cap off with another tiny layer of flower. Probably could use bigger dablets, but a little is all I need usually.

Question for ya'll: Anyone know of a rubber or silcone cap (something like a thin MFLB battery cover) to put on the SS end of the nylon stems? I like packing a couple stems and saving one for later. A cap would be nice to ensure no flower is falling out.

Thanks!

I'm measuring the outside diameter at 8mm on my calipers. And if my math is correct, that is 5/16". I think a high-temperature material would be best, of course. And an inside height of 1/2" -- not exactly sure which would be a better fit: http://www.mcmaster.com/#84735k15/=10iics5 or http://www.mcmaster.com/#84735k14/=10iictk

I might want a few of these as well!

I am with @mikeben in regards to the cotton, obviously plenty of people use it perfectly fine, but I find it imparts a taste that I don't particularly like, and am always worried about burning it. SS pad cut up all day!
Exactly, I dislike the taste and I always scorch it by accident. SS pads do it so much better for oil and (though I don't use it) e liquid too. It's because they are vegetable matter and absorb the oils, and e juice far more cleanly than cotton. Much purer flavor too. No offense to those who like cotton btw. Maybe just try one SS pad and see if you aren't impressed.

Wait, can you vape e-juice in the underdog? How do you do it?

I'm not knocking SS pads bc they rock w/ errl, however, I can't scrape my gong or stem clean with a tiny bit of steel and vape it, like I can with hemp fiber or organic cotton. The vaporist toolkit is a vastly dynamic and I love it!

Honestly I just have had bad luck with it, I can't seem to not burn it and the SS pads work for my needs so I stick to them. Totally cool you can get good results.

Yes @j-bug the S&B SS pads do absorb ejuice so yes you can do e juice in the dog if you wanted. I guess my dislike for e juice is the same as my dislike for cotton, I just have not had any I like. I don't know how to find any good ones for vaping that aren't already in cartridges and I dislike e-cigarettes . Again I realize I just don't know that area well enough to make a good buy so I don't buy it.

I hope as I gain more experience, I'll figure both e-juice and cotton out. With how big my collection has gotten, and how much my health has improved, it's hard to believe I've only been serious about vaping since mid September!

Back to the Dog. I bought a cloud buddy which is made by VapeXhale. It's a glass tool that with a few adapter will let me easily use my dog with their Hydratubes. For those who have a HT you know how exciting it will be to pair it with the dog without having to worry about spillage or an extra basket or screen falling out. This will be GREAT!

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you've all enjoyed a great holiday season. :)

We did run out of Holiday Vapes last week, but we are busy making more! They should be back in stock by the end of this week. We'll also have more wood types available too.

Also, our website automatically ended the 10% store-wide sale yesterday, but we've put it back up for another month- so everything is back on sale through the end of January!

Thanks!!
