the airflow in the v2.7 was not as strong as the 2.5 . so i am working on the 3 now .. the new splash cap for the v2.5 will be available when the dc comes.
Bummer about the airflow issue :(
Still excited about the splash cap, as the 2.5 top was a big improvement in airflow over the 2.0 style (just tried both again last night)
Oh yeah -- will the DC work with the bubbler attachment?

Before I order. Can someone tell me the difference of having a shallow or deep bowl? Can I load more in the deep bowl? What's the pros and cons of each?

I have found that the deeper bowl does not splash as much. It is a little more difficult to put concentrate in. You still do not want to pack more than the shallow bowl. The size of a grain of rice is what you should use to it doesn't splash through the atomizer or onto the cap.
 
Just a quick update on my usage:

I've had varying levels of success with my atomizer (v2.5with my iStick 50w VW mod (no TC). At the 11w setting, I've seen suggested in the past, I get a tasty hit w/ low vapor output and lose most of what I pack out through the various holes and cracks in/around the cup. At 12.5w, though, I'm able to successfully consume far more of the wax, get great clouds, and still didn't have to worry about burning my oil as long as I'm pulsing for 3-4 sec at a time.

Can't wait for the v3.0 and the introduction of the larger donut element!
 
Shwoops, the ceramic outer shell of my v2.5 donut came off after I soaked it in hot alcohol for a cleaning. I am able to put it back on and use the atomizer, but it consistently slips off. Has this happened to anyone else?

@divinetribe does the DC fit the same glass bubbler adapter that the DT v2.5 donut atomizer uses?

Yes, it happened to me when I soaked mine in boiling water haha. I just threw mine away I'm sure you could just use super glue if you really wanted to

Gf got me a DT v2.5 kit for xmas after I've been talking about it constantly. So Stoked! Currently have no portable device, so this is going to be a fun christmas. I've got 4 different oil strains to sample: Girl scout cookies, Gran daddy purp crumble, candyland, and clementine. Plus blue dream x ac/dc flowers. All phenomenal! Wish I had the new dry herb atomizer to try out but it sold out pretty quick I see. Hate to resort to combustion!

A guy can resist this only so long, you know......I too ordered a pair of V2.5s (one each) and have been trying to get a handle on them using the recommended iStick TC40W. I'm able to drive them OK at 11 Watts, but all attempts at TC have been disappointing. It can be slower to heat up (taking several over temperature cycles). And I'm not at all happy hammering it with 40 Watts when a fraction is what's really called for. A bit like getting onto the freeway laying patches?

Then I tried the alternate the Invader Mini (currently out of stock, of course....):

This is supported by a couple of six month old videos from DT on using it:

This guy differs from the TC40W in one very important point (at least to me), both power and temperature control are active at the same time, not one or the other like in TC40W. You can set it to the recommended temperature (I'm using 210F right now) and also at a 'normal' power level (for me 11 Watts). The display shows both, the power delivered in big numbers, the sensed temperature in small ones. You can watch the temperature rise up to a point where the power level is dropped a Watt or two to prevent it getting too hot. Just what I wanted. Even though it's rated at 50 Watts it can be set to anything you want and still have TC control as well. A 'best of both worlds' kind of thing?

The unit itself is kind of seriously klunky IMO (sorry for the technical term...). It is extremely heavy, 10.3 ounces 'fighting weight' (battery, Atty and load) As opposed to TC40W's 4.6 ounces ready to go. More than twice as heavy. No doubt from the massive "Zinc alloy" (read 'pot metal') body. It's waterproof (within reason, not diving use), heavily armored, could be used as a weapon, and is probably bombproof as well. It has a Rambo/transformer flavor to me. But it does the job and it uses standard 18650s.

If you're having issues with TC in the TC40W I recommend it for your consideration.

BTW, this guy uses a different chip set than all the competitors (or so they claim) meaning amongst other things it's 'right temperature setting' might differ. Those degree numbers are set up for a different alloy heater is all. It's like being able to keep your car going the right MPH with a metric speedometer if you know what number to shoot for.

I had seen the ad for the Atmos Kiln in High Times, and since I'm a long time nicotine/cannabis vaper wanted to give it a try. Ordered the black model last wed, just got the shipment email info this morning. The order I placed from the Divine Tribe yesterday shipped same day, tracking shows it should be here tomorrow. Just in time for the new year!

When I have severe pain I find that my E-Nano takes to much time to get get it under control, so I resort to Rosin, same for my epilepsy. The problem is that the E-Nail take 3-5 min to heat up, just for a small dab or two. I wanted something I could pop on my Joyetech EVIC-VTC Mini when needed.

One of the things I've been trying to find out on this atomizer is the type of resistance wire they use. Currently for vaping eliquid I've been using Stainless Steel 316L wire for my RTA's and RBA's. However from what I've seen in the forum the ceramic disk works with the DNA-30 and DNA-40. And on the website they mention the iStick TV40W which only does temp control with Nickel resistance wire. And while I have stopped using this for eliquid, I'm comfortable with it encased in ceramic. With the new devices supporting titanium and stainless as resistance wire, hopefully we'll see more of the wax/oil vape pens moving this way. I should have both in by next week and will drop in and give my opinion on both.

@NekoGurrl if you need that kind of immediate relief, you should seriously look into the new portable enail rigs. They take less than 30 seconds and deliver true dabbing like effects.

Divine Tribe has come the closest I've seen, but even he disappoints as he has been promising to do this for over a year and still has yet to deliver.

But he is just a small fry. I don't see ANY off gassing analysis from any of the bigger co's. Not even a promise.

Just conjecture, mounted on speculation, mounted on conjecture everywhere and anywhere I look.

WHY oh WHY can I find ABSOLUTELY NO off-gassing analysis done by ANYONE?

Just endless talk.

Hell, why don't we all just chip in for the cost and ship DT's atty off to the lab for him?

Oh my god I feel the same way. I'm still skeptical about the ceramic used in the heating element.

I think they are afraid it may be toxic or something

Finally, the search is over! I've tried and hated plenty of 510 wax attachments including the Wulf glass globe ceramic bowl one, and two styles of metal bowl types, all with wire coils and a wick that looked like plastic fibers. The v2.5 atomizer solves all those problems and the rips are beautiful with 14 watts at 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Thank you @divinetribe!!

I'm kind of astounded too, but not that this hasn't been done but rather that folks would see any reason to think it's practical.

You want to know what sort of gas is being evolved at 400F or so from a part that was baked at over 2000F for a very long time to make? Mullite and cristobalite (the two most common components in Alumina ceramics) don't even begin to fuse until over 2000F, and they have to be held there for much longer than you'd ever do vaping. Everything that could possibly happen at 400F has happened long ago somewhere else on the way to MUCH higher temperatures. It's like saying, 'will this glass melt if I put hot water in it?'. Since it was exposed to heat many many times higher in manufacture the answer seems obvious.

"Sintering" (the first stages of linking) starts to happen about 1800F, if it didn't get at least that hot for a while it'd crumble to bits. It doesn't get 'full hard' for another 700F or so more.

AFAIK there are no labs in the business of testing ceramics for outgassing hazards at these temperatures since 'there's nothing to find'. You could rig up a vacuum oven and RGA (Residual Gas Analyzer, sometimes called a Mass Spectrometer) to sample what comes off, but it'd be residual Nitrogen, Oxygen, trace gasses and water vapor no doubt and in the typical ratios.

Does anyone know of any "off-gassing lab" in this business? Neither do I. Probably not a profitable business to be in, not enough customers.......

Such ceramics are routinely used in UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) precisely because of this. They don't outgas anything abnormal under elevated heat and vacuum, only giving up absorbed stuff. This almost literally to the 'molecule counting level'. Typical RGAs can measure like 10^-20 torr, say about 1/100,000,000,000, 000,000 the level of water in the air? Something like .1 Cent against the National Debt? This property is used in the classic UHV 'baking' where the entire assembly is heated as much as possible under vacuum over time to quickly strip away contamination, much like we do with 'burn offs'. The ceramic doughnuts have already been 'burned off' at extreme levels (say 2500F). Anything of possible health concerns as either evaporated off long ago or will not be effected in the least by a 'mere' 400F.

"Hot stages" for testing metals and other materials at elevated temperatures are made from this sort of ceramic exactly because they don't evolve gasses to foul the high vacuums they work in. 'Nothing to see here'.

If this was a provable concern, no doubt competitors would be using such tests to cast safety concerns on each other? Safety concerns are a healthy thing, but IMO they should be tempered against realistic risks......and there just are none such here I know of. Does anyone know of any? I'd be most interested.....
