The Solo may have a slightly different vape signature. You can fit more in the Crafty though, but IMO the Solo sessions last longer, and thus I think you get more conduction and perhaps slightly different effects. My sleep has seemed to improve using the Solo over the Crafty in the evenings.

Could also be o2 deprivation if you're having airflow issues with the Solo, as some do in comparison to the Crafty. When you say you feel "better", how exactly do you mean?
Well I decided to part with my air, basically the same as the solo hoping it will be much better. I liked my air and solo but I wanted something that delivered a heavy punch. Randy from PIU hooked me up and the Crafty will be here sometime Friday!

You will def be happy , The Crafty delivers a heavier punch over the air that is for sure but the air is also good to have , it tastes a bit better and holds a longer charge and is def a good companion to the crafty.

I kept my all my portable vapes, and let me tell you, the crafty blows them all away.
The only one I bring out on occasions is the solo.
It's flavour is better, but only for the first 3 draws... After that it goes downhill very quickly... The crafty has more consistent flavour right till the end and has cooler vapor too.

But as you stated, a good companion/backup vape.

The reason why I sold my Air for it was because I got 140 for it and since I got the Crafty for 280 I only had to pay 140 for the upgrade. I will still keep my solo though for a backup portable but I will miss my air.

Thanks right back at you for your valuable feedback on the Crafty. I guess it makes me feel a bit better that I sold mine, and am very happy with the Solo for home........ but...... nothing compared to the Crafty for ultra stealth for me personally, but I think the Mighty has it beat on longevity....just don't hear of as many breaking down and being sent in as the Crafty.

How is your new one heading in the same direction? Sounds like it's battery related?

Funny you ask, it just died about 6 hours ago. What I meant was that things such as the slow heat up times and whatnot were beginning to show up more and more. You can feel how it sort of craps out over time. And this just confirms that I could tell it was about to die.

I've enjoyed the crafty more when it was just me that was hitting it, does anyone else feel the same way thats it not really a type of vape to share with a friend?

Storz and Bickel have provided excellent service both times.
The emails have been answered within 24hrs.
I'm dealing with s&b Germany.

Wow, incredibly fast shipping. The Crafty came a day early and so far I really am enjoying it. I've had a couple friends over who've tried as well and thought it was awesome. I've enjoyed the crafty more when it was just me that was hitting it, does anyone else feel the same way thats it not really a type of vape to share with a friend?

Yes, very much agree that the Crafty is more a personal vape. I find that with multiple people/bowls, it gets too hot and needs to cool down.

The Mighty is much more suited to a small group.

I'm curious whether S&B gave you some consideration on your upgrade? Warranty replacement of Crafty?
Sorry to pry, but I'd like to compare with my experience of the 'upgrade' process.
I've not regretted my 'upgrade' from Crafty one bit! The Mighty is just terrific. I made a Muzzmod the other day and things are definitely looking up!

My crafty is falling apart, every week we seem that some plastic part breaks, but so far believe that none came to affect performance. Anyone know if it's viable try to glue that part of the socket? She fixed perfectly, but do not know if it worth trying paste.

Let the unit fall 2 times, but all were from a height of no more than 40 cm, and is a long time ago, now he simply falloff

That's an old** one!. There's a newer housing that's been upgraded/reinforced at those weak points. I think you could easily get yours replaced for an improved model.
It doesn't appear that there's much there that would actually be glue-surface, and these areas are under stress when tightening the c/u in place. I don't see good chances for successful repair. (I've had the very same break happen)

My first Crafty did break in the same place. That's why I felt I could respond about you repairing it yourself. That one was also developing problems with overheating/shutting off due to overheating, taking a very long time to charge, so I had to send it in for those reasons. The replacement had the reinforced housing. So that's a weakness that they've acknowledged by their own correction.
Your piece is also using older firmware (by 2 or 3 versions) than is being shipped.
I think I'm merely suggesting that you have some strong argument for warranty replacement. The anecdotes here seem to say that the housing and firmware are not simply replaced, instead they ship a new Crafty.
S&B are typically very good with customer support.

I received it today, came in the same box I sent, with a note stating that they just upgraded my housing and firmware, but is the same mighty I sent in. However, it looks new (they cleaned it and the bowl looks like a new unit) with a new serial number in the 27,000. I'm charging it now. Do you guys think it's a new one? If it was new, I'd expect a new box. I apologize for posting in crafty thread but read vapvikings comment and maybe they learned to fix it without sending out new units.

Was this service done in CA or Germany? It was a hand written note about the service?
Are you noticing improved performance (battery in particular?), over the way it was when you sent it in? It sure sounds like a new one, given the new serial number. No new box is not the usual. Maybe they are getting more into some actual repairs now, rather than just replacements?
I do think the tale will be told by the battery life you're getting now. Please let us know. They did tell you you needed batteries!
Bet you still got a new cooling unit, though!

The Mighty and Crafty have a two year warranty. If yours was under warranty, what you should do is ask for a pre paid mailer. They don't usually offer them; but if you ask for one they will give it to you. In short here is the answer. You have a brand new unit. They don't waste time fixing units under warranty. Its easier to send you a new one. They normally tell you to remove the Cooling Unit, and send in ONLY the Mighty or Crafty; if its under warranty you used to get a new box that's sealed from the factory. In your case since you said the box was your old box; you can be pretty sure that they replaced your unit with a new one. This video should give you a good idea of why they don't bother reparing them. Once you see it you will never look at a Crafty the same way again.
If I had to guess Storz & Bickel sent them a bunch of replacement units that aren't boxed. It was probably getting expensive giving people new cooling units, power cords, grinders, filling tools, and brushes. Oh yes; and lets not forget the spare parts bag. The people that paid $469 for them when they first came out were given brand new boxed units when they sent them in for service; if you got it after they marked the price down to its current level; it would make more sense to just take yours out and use it for parts while they send you a brand new unit. I know they say they don't cover batteries; if they know it's something that was defective they can replace the unit at their discretion (if they feel like it). Just remember you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar... :)

I did get a new cooling unit. I purchased it for the $469. I bet it is new, but there is A note saying it is my old mighty.



I will let you guys know this weekend if it is new.

Edit: I did get prepaid postage.
