Someone buy a bunch and sell me one when they make it into the USA

@OF, happy 15th *666 post!
I just had the best session ever with the SOLO loaded with GSC.

Old Vine now that life is reasonable!

GonG's? I spent more $ on glass than vaporizers!

Just have some made at a machine shop out of Stainless Steel or whatever will work other than glass?

We had a saying: "Work is for people who don't surf"!

You aren't helping me being patient for my solo arriving tomorrow!
I don't surf waves, but i surf pavement, although i guess it counts still because I am a job-haver!

Or my favorite Fields quote: "Work is the curse of the drinking class". Some narrow minded guys credit Oscar Wilde for it, but we know the truth.......

I worked for years however I managed to surf wherever I lived!

For 6 years I haven't worked and this is my saying or quote:

"Work is over rated"!

Cannabis is the HOLY GRAIL and the SOLO is the most practical in my option!

Oscar Wilde said some interesting stuff!

Not only is the Cannabis harvest ready the Grapes for wine are ready!

Sadly I rarely use the Solo anymore, it seems like a lot of work just to get a little misty light vapour from it.
However I've been reading this thread lately so I pulled the Solo out to test again this week.
On high I get charring but little visible vapour, on the lower settings browning & not much else.
Now I know vapour density can be about perspective & I'm not expecting it to be a triple M (Massive Milk Maker) but when I first used it I thought I remembered getting enough vapour to fill the can & slightly conceal the downstem.

I think it's still under warranty & I probably would have sent it back but it turns on, heats up quickly & the battery seems fine. I don't even know if anything goes wrong with them other than the base cracking on some models.
I appreciate different vape signatures & while I wouldn't use the Solo often I would occasionally. Plus I've spent over $100 on gongs & that kinda motivates me because it won't be long until it's all, Honey why don't you ever use that little vaporizer you keep buying parts for?
I know a lot of you love this thing & I'd like to as well. Most of you seem to know what you're talking about so I'm just asking for some feedback.
Is light vapour normal & am I possibly expecting too much because now I own several other fine vapes or do you think my unit could have a fault?

@Poostuff
that is basically why i gravitated away from the solo for a while.
i was actually thinking something along similar lines earlier today.

why did i buy a solo again, when i have a lot of serious heavy hitters i'm very happy with?

what i realized was, every time i got sick of the solo, was because i had come to depend on it 24/7 for all my vaping needs for one reason or another. while it does a great job of vaping, it can be a bit of effort to get those nice big tasty clouds, and when you're doing back to back sessions all day long it loses its charm a bit.

those who i know personally who never get bored of their solo as a daily driver vape have light tolerances! they vape once a day, not every day, and sometimes twice a day.

anyway im getting off topic. the solo totally does have a place and a particular charm. now that i have plenty of other heavy hitters, portable and desktop, if i want the solo its because i want to savor the flavor and have a nice session on low temps. no higher than 4!

when the solo was my main vape i always vaped at 6 or 7, but now that i have other vapes that can kick my ass more easily on command (like the mighty), i break out the solo a lot more often when i'm already kind of vaped and want to enjoy the flavor of a strain for a while.

so, i would say its half expectations from your nicer vapes and half that desire to pull the biggest clouds you can which i can tell you myself is very hard to shake!

Look it may not be fair?

Apple's to oranges, maybe?

I know their are many other fine units.
The SOLO is one that works well for many of us.

I'm a medical patient.
It's legal for most of us!

I use to like to smoke joints until it became medical for me.

If my need was recreational I would just burn.

Now that a SOLO has become my daytime doser I can't burn anymore without coughing!

Blue vapor will get you medicated.
I like almost milky because I like the full effect.
The SOLO is a medical device for me.

I hope you find your zone!

Whatever you like is what matters.

Besides CANNABIS is the HOLY GRAIL!

I vape a lot. The Solo is my daily driver and I never get tired of it! With the Solo I easily pull hit after hit of tasty vapor from my herbs. Sometimes it seems endless! :o Whether it's low temp flavor-chasing I'm after or a high temp knock-out punch, the Solo has me covered. And it'll milk a small bubbler no problem!

What's you guys preferred method of vaping kief in the solo? Should I even bother or save it up for a concentrate?
My preferred method for vaping kief is an herb-kief-herb sandwich in a standard sized bowl with a flat screen. I usually vape herbs without kief added in a stem with a domed screen taking up half the room, so when I vape a kief bowl like this it totally wrecks me. :ko:

In fact, I'm loading up a kief bowl right now. You probably won't hear from me again tonight unless it's to bump that one thread... :spliff:

So did end up ordering these caps (the 1/2in ones) because they were cheap and I can report that they do fit the stems, but they are ridiculously tight.

They might work. Vinyl leg ends tend to be very stiff (for wear resistance), more so than rubber the same size (which often have thicker (molded) 'tops' (or bottoms installed). The stem needs to stretch it out to .56 or so, that could be a tough stretch with vinyl, more so than rubber?

Tube caps, OTOH, are thinner and intended to stretch more since the sizes 'overlap'.

One easy way to find out for sure........

OF

Edit: Notice the half inch size is intended to also cover 9/16 (close to the actual size of the stem), indeed up to 5/8 inch?

So now we know for sure, thanks for the report.

Hopefully you'll find the ones from PIU work fine, the ones I got there did (as you might expect).

If the herb generates good vapour in other devices and is getting charred, are you getting any effect? If not, where did the volatile goodness go?

I guess the good news is that you can't get char without heat so I'd guess you've got most of a working Solo.

With char I'd expect smoke which usually looks pretty impressive and tastes dreadful - but you see none?

If you have a screen, try cleaning it?
I've experienced awful performance with a completely clogged screen.
Burned sides but hardly any heat into the center of the bowl

I'd really appreciate hearing how this turns out - otherwise I'm stumped.

they say im crazy but i have a good time
... i have found a use for my air stems.. i use the short one for solo stealth

... the solo is not all that much wider than the air, can still be concealed in your palm.
I like the short air stem because it does not stick out much, which i think the stock stems
being so long make them not stealthy.

imo my solo+short air stem = more stealthy than solo in cup with normal stem.

I also run a domed screen (really upped my efficiency!) but will hate having to remove the one in my strait stem, it was a pita to get it in the right spot without wanting to jump out! My bent stem is pretty much useless right now (will fall strait out of a week old solo), it fits far to loose and has a huge bowl. Wayy to much air to vapor, my strait stem fits snug with just a little "rock" to change up draw style. My answer: more stems (and maybe some Teflon tape or some heat shrink tubing to seal off bent stem a little better). Think I'll try an air stem, are the widths and tolerances just luck of the draw due to them being handmade or is there a more consistent supplier?

I'll try the kief method later this afternoon, that's how I used to combust it. Work got rained out today.

I never did the cup trick or anything like that.
Maybe its because I used to combust in precarious zones outside for so long before I vaped.
i feel the solo by itself is perfectly clandestine.

Human wants are never fulfilled!

Amen to that. While some few are, for sure most are simply replaced by yet bigger wants? And if we're happy with what we have, but notice the neighbor seems to have something better..........

pvhes thinned it out a little much for me.
is the vortex stem not for me? or should i give it a shot?

Yep, that's the way it works. Fine I think, for guys looking for huge hit volume in a hurry. They can overcome thinner vapor with volume.

I didn't care much for Vortex, but others like it. If it interests you the only way to scratch that itch is to try one?

Speaking of the vortex stem...!
I have used friends' PVHES and didn't really like it because I liked how dense the vapor is with the stock stem. pvhes thinned it out a little much for me.

I like the PHVES with a 113 seal under the cap!

Mixing it up is why I like the VORTEX however it takes ONE more level to heat.

PHVES = level 4

VORTEX = level 5

I like both!

You could always cut them a bit to shorten them. makes it easier to remove them.
