Damn you guys are fast! Hahah

I'm happy to announce that my Loading Funnel and Mini Spiral Loading Stand are finished and now available for sale on my store!

(I'm also releasing a Lotus version of this stand in the next few days)

 Actually I've been making really good progress on a battery case design. I'd already have released it, but the material I'm using for the cases has been a huge PITA to work with. Unfortunately I've been too busy printing new orders to tinker around too much with new materials. Guess it's time to buy another 3D printer!
Can/does the spiral stand have a cut-out where you could put/hide the magnetic charger underneath, so you could "plug it in" to the charger by just plopping the hopper in the stand, button facing down?

Honestly since I only have one battery I haven't considered making a permanent stand to hold the cord(I carry the cord everywhere with me). Well not permanent, but it'd be inconvenient to remove every time you wanted to travel with just the cord.

However that is an excellent Idea, I'll have to play around with some concepts and see how I could make it print nicely every time (part of the challenge I have in designing inventions for an FDM printer is to avoid 45+ degree overhangs as much as possible). Maybe I'll offer a larger charging dock with slots to hold various accessories for the hopper

Thanks for the suggestion! Keep em coming!

A charging dock as a separate accessory? Ghl sells extra charging cables. If people buy those, could it be integrated with your stand like an iPhone charging stand?

Yeah, that's what I figure. I'll probably end up buying a spare charging cord for myself anyway. Shouldn't be too hard to make a charging dock. Gimme a few weeks to play around with that

Are these the same? I think they are.

If I ever get my GH, I will be able to really compare (I have a DipStick). Does anybody that have a GH that has a DipStick to confirm this?

Nope, not the same. The GH has a 750mAh vs 320mAh on the DipStick.
Even if they were physically the same , I can't imagine using a battery that would give half the life of the already relatively short battery life of the GH.

Ok cool, thanks. I thought I might had found an alternate battery for the GH.

What you could do is just cut a rectangular hole down the middle of the current design. You could slide the charger through this new hole sideways (the magnetic connector portion that looks as though it can spin), and then turn it flat so it is resting on top of the current design. You could make your original hole deeper to account for the charger.

I hope that makes sense.

Edit: think buttoning your shirt. You have to turn the button sideways to get it through the hole and then it rests on top.

I think I get where you're coming from, although the magnetic charger port doesn't spin on the cable, it is fixed in the wrong position from where I need it.

I'm going to need to find a way to incorporate some sort of clip to hold the charger in place, and bend the cables out of the way. It's doable, but not quite as easy as if the charging port did freely spin on it's cable.

Edit, If I can figure out how to secure it from the underside, the cable could hang down naturally

I'm thinking put a hole underneath the hopper just big enough to fit the usb end. Feed the usb through the top, pull it through, and the round charger won't go through the rectangular hole. And walls extending up a little bit that are the same size as the charger could keep it snug

I confess that I'm failing to understand what the recently posted ideas are solutions for.
For simply providing a way to integrate the GH charger cable into the stand?

What's wrong with a simple recess to fit the round portion (high enough to allow room for GH button), and a groove running from the edge if the 'foot' of the stand, along the bottom surface of the stand to the simple recess? (a groove deep enough to accommodate the cable OBV).

I'm vaped and near certain to be missing the whole point though.

That was my first thought but then I remembered the charging cable has a big brick in the middle of it.

Boom!

Hey Everyone,

It’s October 15th and we’re back with another update. We’re four days away from receiving the largest batch of Grasshopper components yet. The next shipment includes enough parts to deliver all outstanding Grasshopper units. This is a huge step for us, and we’ll all breathe a small sigh of relief when DHL pulls up to the shop on Monday.

These parts include three production changes that are designed to speed up the assembly process. After assembling over 1500 units, we have a much clearer picture of what’s required to mass-produce the Grasshopper. These small part adjustments will eliminate entire assembly steps. We’re predicting nearly a 50% reduction in total assembly time just due to these changes, not including the tooling and equipment we’ve gotten online in the last several weeks.

We’re in the process of completely revamping our website backend. This will streamline the shipping procedure, make processing repairs faster, and allow us to track problems as they appear to further increase the reliability of the assembly process and the devices themselves.

Many of you have been asking about shipping estimates. Due to our pending website upgrades, some shipping estimates have slipped. Things will be adjusted when the upgrades go live, but we’re not expecting many dates to change. Look for this within the next couple of days.

Next Monday starts the beginning of a huge assembly push, and lots of address confirmations will be going out. We’ll have part pictures and concrete shipping numbers for you on the 1st.

The Grasshopper Team

Well that's a sigh of relief.

I was really stressing about upgrades to their already useful website.

I'll definitely hold my breathe about seeing a shipping confirmation next week.

Just over a month before the 2 year anniversary date for my order!

I noticed they sell on eBay over 400$ for the titanium. Before that an original also sold for over 400. Whatever happened to patience, lol. Or are they so fantastic.

It's pretty fantastic and worth every penny of $150/200. If the alternative is $400 I would say it's also worth the wait of a few months! I mean definitely get one because it is pretty fantastic and I realize that coming from someone who has a GH preaching patience is more easy than virtuous but it's still the right thing to do. Hang in there and if you REALLY need to spend $400 then support the team and just buy two grasshoppers! ;-)

I have ordered in about three weeks ago. I also got v2 series 3 max for the meantime. I think I will sell my firefly though. The gh sounds like its what I need in terms of quality and stealth. The pen I have is OK but the aroma doesn't work for my usages
