Discontinued herbalAire

Thanks man, really appreciate your help. If the HA milks better than a Solo & gong, then i'm not sure why people say the clouds are lacking on the HA? The Solo milks huge, especially when you stick the gong in and allow it to heat soak. Thicker, denser milk than ANY vapes i've ever owned, except maybe the Nano (way more than EVO). So the Solo gong works in the HA? I assume you have to hold the HA on it?

I didn't have great consistency success with the Nano, and not a huge fan of the EVO....I think i'm at the end of the game here....have owned tonnes of vapes, but mostly convection, and am looking for convection/conduction hybrids now, and the HA seems like the best fit for now.

Do you really notice the lack of upper temp past 400? I noticed that with certain vapes with a lower ceiling (Mighty, Crafty, Solo), i'm perfectly okay with it....210c seems to be perfect. But then other vapes like the Herbalizer, I can max out and crave more temperature....I suppose it could again be a conduction/convection thing? What vapes do you think do better in a bong?

I get heaps of vapor when using the whip or direct draw so my lack of vapor when using a wp is, i assume, due to user error.

For me the only real downside to the ha is that the top temperature is 200c. I find it good for both large and small amounts of herb. You can hit it as hard or as gently as you like and the heater will keep up the temperature. I thought the auto-shutoff would be annoying but it hasn't bothered me so far. This is the vape i take with me when i go away because it is almost unbreakable and really easy to use.

How do you like it compared to the EQ? My relationship with the EQ is about to end forever. The EQ definitely has that upper ceiling, but based on how the vape works and is designed, I don't venture much past 230c anyway. I'm pretty sure that i'd prefer the HA over the EQ, and I made a mistake recently and went with (another) EQ, instead of trying the HA!

The only difference to me between whole nugs and grinding or breaking it up is the clouds are a little bigger at first and it vapes a little quicker. I still get the same abv and effects, just seems to speed the process up a little. Seems like that to me anyways.

It's hard to recommend one over the other. I don't use either of them with a wp so i can't comment on how they compare.

All i can say is that if the ha went to 230c i would not have bought another vape. Everything else about it was perfect for me.

That would be amazing, makes me want a herbalizer but the time it takes me to save for one the zion should be out!

@Tommy10 i was talking about the herbalaire (ha) not the herbalizer. Sorry for any confusion .

Sorry, I meant I really like my HA too. Just wish it went hotter, herbalizer Is apparently similar In function but it goes much hotter. 445F I think.

Lol, i'm a bit vaked.

I've cracked the shits waiting for an international version of the herbalizer and i pretend i would never spend that much on a vape...betcha it's $1000+ in australia...but i totally want one, lol.

Don't regret buying the herbalaire, though. It's really built to last.

Mmmmm:( not available here yet either! When will this nightmare end.

In other news, rocking the solo stem in the ha loving it. Getting a solo gong, as it works on my hammer conduction mode into my bong as with the ha as with my solo... One bit of $39 glass and 3 different Vapor gong set ups! Woop woop!!

Also what are other using to get the solo/air stems to hold firm? Tied a bit of cord around the stem.. Tuck the top of the knot on the White teflon rim and slide the stem in. So far from ideal, but day off and I'm yet to leave the lounge... Happened to have a roll of roman blind cord on the table.

..hello everone.
..now after a little while w/ the HA iv been mainly using it dry lately...w/ a 18f to 18f adapter on the tong...
..then a vapor bros. 18m mouthpiece...and a keck.
I crank mine full to get it to max temp then back off until it turns red...let it sit there till green..and Im getting massive clouds.
I'm going w/ a ruff grind..fresh & fluffy..then packing the cut down crucible down w/ a screen.
I was using the ceramic screens but after an iso soak, and thorough rinse I could detect the iso in the vapor...so..in a pinch I used a ss screen instead and think it works better for me..it doesn't move whatsoever.
The clouds for me luckily w/ my HA are not an issue...what I feel lacking is a sense of density...like a ssv or dbv density...
For me the positives far outweigh the negatives on this vape...

I got my concentrate kit...it just seems to be a crucible w/ a few screens in it...anybody have any tips for concentrates or the concentrate kit?...
I'll reread the earlier posts..I'm sure it's in there...but any info would be appreciated.
Thank you

I'm not sure how similar the Herbalizer is in function to the HA, but i'm going to say not very? They both produce vapour, and can be used with bags/whips but I think the similarities basically stop there. This is also why there is a huge difference in cost. Although i've never used a HA, I have owned a Herbalizer, and one common complaint is that it "doesn't get hot enough" at 229c. So top end temps aren't exactly apples to apples between vapes. The EQ top end says 260c, my Solo 210c, Mighty 210c, and they all can roast a bowl just fine....i've seen the HA ABV and it looks very extracted/cooked, so why all the complaints about the HA not getting hot enough? 204c seems like a good top end, depending on the technology.

Do people think they are severely limiting their cannabinoids by the HA not going past 204c? Is this part of the "lack of dense couds" complaint? Simply because it doesn't get hot enough?

The clouds for me luckily w/ my HA are not an issue...what I feel lacking is a sense of density.

This is probably due to airflow....I notice this on my Solo....with a regular gong, i'm in absolute heaven, i've never seen vapour so thick in a water tube in my life, and instant.....with the PVHES, with the extra airflow (not required IMO) there is so much more airflow that it still fills the can, and there is lots of vapour, but it's much less dense and "thinner" and less satisfying for me personally. I wonder if packing the crucible tighter (as suggested by manufacturer - works better obstructing the holes) would yield denser vapour clouds?

I got my concentrate kit...it just seems to be a crucible w/ a few screens in it...anybody have any tips for concentrates or the concentrate kit?...

There should be 4 of those triple screen crucibles in the kit? They are apparently "offset" and thus catch any concentrate and spreads it out. Have you tried it yet? I don't see how using this crucible with concentrate wouldn't produce massive clouds!?

The lack of density clouds could more likely also be the result of not grinding as mentioned by @StormyPinkness.... I think a coarse grind and tight pack should make all the difference? There is definitely an advantage to getting more airy clouds though, for example even though I love the thick dense vapour, my wife is much more sensitive and would prefer the lighter wispier clouds that don't irritate as much.

@stickstones posted: "I was told to heat the unit up with the crucible in it. Then add the dab, wait a minute to let it melt down and enjoy."

My advice is to not overload it and be careful about it getting dirty. If you overload it or the screens are all dirty the wax will have nowhere to go but down into the vape. Also don't expect huge clouds, the taste is great but it vapes at a pretty leisurely pace. With the right amount and clean screens it does a pretty impressive job of holding the wax.

You can also easily pack the regular crucible with a pretty solid plug of bud (can't see the screen) and just place a square of wax on that. You just need to be careful about inhaling at first so you don't dislodge the bud before the wax melts on top of it.

I haven't been to this thread for a while. It's nice to see the HA still has a nice following. I think its about time to take a break from my Aromed and show my herbie some love. It's still a great vape !

I've been thinking I'll pull it out this weekend. It just doesn't seem fair that my Zion owns me exclusively. Gotta share the wealth a little... ;)

I got my concentrate kit, but my crucibles are filled with silica gel betwen the screens, two of them looses the firts screen inside the tube (package) and a lot of siliga balls are loosed inside.

The idea is use the crucible with the silica balls inside? in this case, are these safe? or it's just a protection and must be removed before use?

DO NOT VAPE THE SILICA BALLS!!!!
A package must have ruptured during shipment.
Remove all silica balls and clean the crucibles before using.

But the rest of crucibles had the silica balls well sealed inside with two screens perfectly atached at the top. Inside of the tube (package) i can't find any broquen paper, envelop or similar. Only the crucibles filled with the silica, one opened and the rest of silica loose.

I can't imagine how that could be safe. Maybe they are made of some heat resistant material and meant to hold the screens apart, but I find that a little hard to imagine. If they are glass, that may be OK, but if they are soft at all it is just too weird...

I can only guess, but my guess would be no.

Is silica gel hazardous? Silica gel is inert, non-toxic, non-flammable, non-reactive, and stable with ordinary usage. The substance was in existence as early as the 1640s as a scientific curiosity and is safe to use for protecting foods, medicines, sensitive materials and much more. It will react with hydrogen fluoride, fluorine, oxygen difluoride, chlorine trifluoride, strong acids, strong bases, and oxidisers. Silica gel is irritating to the respiratory tract, may cause irritation of the digestive tract, and dust from the beads may cause irritation to the skin and eyes - so precautions should be taken. Some of the beads may be doped with a small amount of a moisture indicator, such as cobalt(II) chloride, which is toxic, and may be carcinogenic, and irritating to skin and the respiratory tract. Cobalt (II) chloride is deep blue when dry (anhydrous) and pink when moist (hydrated). We, along with several other retailers, offer a safer alternative which is an indicating silica gel that changes from orange to green and does not contain cobalt chloride.

No is not soft, is like glass. I put one in water and don't changue the color, remain transparent but some silicas don't have the cobalt you say, like ones i have in the packs of nori algue.

I see all the balls perfectly sphered and exactly the same size, if can help to clarify anything.

Anyway i sent a mail to herbalaire and i keep us informated.

Ps: i do an experiment. I get 2 glasses whit hot water. I put silica gel (from the nori algue) in one. And the misterious balls in the other. Results: the verified silica began to crunch, break and liberate a mount of very little bubbles. The crucible beads do absolutly nothing and remain intact. I'm pretty sure are glass beams.

If is glass, or its a new design from herbalaire or i don't understand how is not comented at the product description.

I'm looking forward to hearing just how effective these concentrate crucibles are with the HA, especially if they are now filled with glass balls!
