Discontinued The Grasshopper

Question for the few who have a grasshopper vaporizer.

- When pack with .25 of herb how many hits\pulls before the chamber is finished ? on temp 3.5.....w/ 8 seconds pulls

Any info would be very helpful. Thanks for your time
This is really dependant on draw speed and pressure. From what it sounds like, the GH is really versatile in this aspect.

So depending on draw speed, with the temp dialed at 3.5 you could probably make a pack finish fast or slow.

At least that is what I expect...

I cant wait to try low temp long slow draws. And want to experiment with microdose full temp single hits - perfect for mind and body!

:peace:

Here's Buzz's June 13 update to his prelim review (no real new info though), hope ok to post here. How come we never mention Vaporents here? (I've never heard of it):

Link to full article.

Update-6/13/15:

Backers are beginning to receive units and the Grasshopper is finally making it out into the wild. So far the reports have been good from other sources over at FC/vaporents and the main complaints so far have been the vapor temp which is something I’ve talked about before. I’m looking forward to more people getting their hands on the grasshopper vape and seeing what they have to say about it.

My Stainless Steel Grasshopper is still going strong and I will be sending it back for a new SS production unit here shortly so I will be able to compare the different units side by side soon.

Right before they started shipping out production units I was able to get my hands on the Titanium Grasshopper and I’m really impressed with the changes they made. Let’s go ahead and break down the differences between my Stainless Steel pre-production unit and the new Titanium Grasshopper v.9 that I just received.

So the first thing I noticed was the difference in weight between the two units. The TI unit is about 12 grams lighter than the SS steel model and it was much nicer to hold in the hands.

It also was much more appealing in the way that it looks more like a pen, and not a shiny piece of stainless steel. The SS isn’t bad but after receiving the TI model, I definitely noticed quite a bit more scratches and blemishes. The TI model is much more resistance to scratches and dings, so the TI model might be a better pick for the clumsy individual.

Next is the new screen. I really like the screen that they designed and I haven’t had to do any cleaning. I’ve ran probably close to 10 pretty full chambers through the Grasshopper and zero material has been gunking up.

One thing that I have noticed is that I don’t think it will work well with fine grinds (i.e. MFLB finishing grinder). So I would recommend that you stick with a regular grinder. Something like a Space Case or Santa Cruz Shredder.

The screen can be removed but it is very durable and doesn’t need to be. You can scratch it and it will be fine.

Complete Changes:

-Better thermal properties, runs cooler longer.
-New screen, Is user removable with a tool but is very durable and probably dose not need to be. You can scratch on it and it will not get damaged. Very strong.
-Improved Dial action. Smooth rotation.
-Labeled batteries
-New charging ring, more robust for a better connection.
-New Charging Cable, Twice as thick for better durability.
-Production charger housing. With molded logo and smooth finish.
-New Manual.

So it seems that everything is finalized (for now) and the Grasshopper is FINALLY shipping out to the backers. The downside to this wonderful news is that if you are not one of those lucky unlucky lucky backers, you will not be getting a pre-order Grasshopper until Sept 2015. That’s not a bad wait considering the actual backers had to wait almost two years… har har har… but the one thing the pre-order does lock in is the price. Get it now IMO and it will be a nice surprise when it shows up at your doorstep in a few months.

Thanks to all who replied . In that video total of 18 pulls on temp 3.5...then stepped up to temp 4.25.

Yeah that was my request test, to hit it as much as possible at 356, and then when its done there, temp step to 383 to see how much more you could get (and then they also pushed it to full power as well, so it was almost a full three stage temp step session)

hmmm my plan was ordering the ss and check if I like it and if I would like it to order the ti (and hoping if there were problems with the first hopper that they will find solutions until i order a ti hopper) but now i do not know if i should change my preorder to ti from ss... because they anounced that they will raise the price... and the difference in price between ss and ti is now 45 dollars ... whats the opinion of fc?

I got the ti because I wanted it in a other than plain silver aesthetic, and because of it's supposed superior thermal qualities. I also like the idea that it may be slightly more scratch resistant as I'm sure I'll drop mine at some point, and I'm usually over a hard floor surface when I'm vaping, if not outside. The price to me seemed like a small difference in the long run.

Keep the ti because im sure it will go up a lot more than it is now

Who's FC vaporents? I copied this from that link.

EDIT
So FC was included with the vaporents on reddit info letter. The 2 FCers other than Buzz and Justin have units that don't work now. They said the issues were something else. It's seems like it's just an advertisement for the GH.

Vaporents is the vaporizer focused section of Reddit

Money aside, my biggest concern between the two is thermal properties. Sounds like the ti will stay cooler than the ss. I got the ss because I expect to hit it and quit it, so I don't think I'll run into the gh getting too warm. But I won't be surprised if I end up with a ti down the road...

Could be stupid question, but if I wanted hit the GH fast and hard, think any damage to the unit would result if you put it in the fridge or freezer for a little bit. Pack it then hit it!

How long (if it does) would it last cooling the vapour down?

I can see that being a bad idea with extended fridge stays..especially the freezer. The idea of the heater going from - anything to +400° doesnt sound too good.

Yes but this could be of great interest to, for instance, Northern Canadians who want to vape outdoors.

Im actually in canada so of course i would wanna use it outside in winter but chances are it will be in my pocket keeping somewhat warm. Buzz was in CO snow boarding with his hopper and he said it was perfectly fine

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
 waiting patiently for your update/explanation. not!

"Hopefully same outcome" sounds like someone is waiting for a replacement unit to came before speaking. I think bad thing has to be expected: 2nd faulty unit in 10 days - 100% if you only count regular customers who buy a new GH and reveal themselves on FC :bang:

@Just Justin, on your review site, it shows a close up of the screen section.
From what it looks like, it's a machined s/s screen...but if you look close enough, it appears that a bunch of the sections have broken. Did it come that way, or is it just a little fragile? I recall other reviewers commenting on how durable they thought it was.
