So HP is working on a 3d glass printer.

Anyone seen one in the wild?

I've been watching the industry closely for obvious reasons. I haven't been able to find any more information about the HP glass printer, very little info out on the specs or what it can do yet.

But you can bet your ass as soon as it's available I'll begin working with it

I remember watching that video about a year before I got a 3D printer. I thought it was cool as shit

Glass is currently not available, but I am waiting for Shapeways to release 3D printed porcelain which should be perfect for my 3D printed accessory needs (For now).

Though like I said, I'd LOVE to get into 3D printed glass.

@Ratchett I signed up for shapeway's porcelain beta. Diswasher safe, micrwave save, high temps... what's not to like other than not having something that is clear?

I wish the HP printer was out. Then again, it prob would suck for fittings? How would they work? Hmm... maybe I am not that excited.

I do think that a sweet glass screen could be made. It looks like the porcelain will give more detail and arrive first.

Yeah, I want to get into Porcelain 3D printing, but I didn't want to attract unwanted attention from Shapeways regarding what I'm making in porcelain. The last thing I want is shapeways to shut down my store before I even got it off the ground!

The last I heard about 3D printed glass is that current glass 3D printers produce a fragile semi-translucent material.

I'm still not sure if Porcelain will work for my needs, since the process involves 3D printing a mold based on your model and filling the mold with liquid porcelain. But as soon as they take it out of beta, I'm going to be placing a bunch of orders for test parts to see how they can handle various shapes/designs.

I never thought of that before, but 3d printing is perfect for glass and porcelain screens! Bring 'em on!

Exactly, I already have a few different ideas for exotic Concentrate pieces designed for various higher powered vapes (think submliminator style dabbing)
