If you clean your vap parts in Everclear you can also make a THC beverage.

I did that last weekend and got so high I think I broke my brain. :o
Will 151 proof Everclear work? I apparently cannot buy the 190 proof in California.
Anyone know where to get either one in California? I've never bought it and just heard about it on here.

MOE - 151 should work I think. Probably just need to let your vape parts soak longer than you would had you used 190 proof.

BevMo has the 151 Everclear. They do not carry 190.
Thank you Hopandstop. According to what I read on the net, 190 proof is not permitted in CA.

Vapo- also thanks for that info. Probably safer than 90% isopropyl, I bet...

You already get an extra stem since you are a FC person even though you did not tell me when you ordered. We figured it out.

That 190 is probably hard to find anywhere? Getting real close to pure Ethyl at that stage. Calif and most states do not allow the sale. I hear they do have stills with tall columns now that will do 190 proof(95% alcohol). Sugar, turbo yeast and about a week will give close to a gallon of very clear and clean shine is what I have heard. Probably a better bet just to buy Everclear with all the taxes paid. 151 works just fine. A nice treat is to put a nice sized nug in a small bottle of it and let it be for a few weeks. Beautiful amber green and unbelievable effect.

Isn't it cool how us humans like to trigger that pleasure center? Those who don't are missing part of the fun of being human.

Yeah you right. And that desire can be observed in little children who like to spin around and get dizzy. The true gateway drug.

I'm pretty sure we can get 190 here in Orygun.

Got my Zap today! So far so good, though I'm still getting the hang of it. I look forward to many happy sessions in the future once I dial things in. Gonna have another session in a little while. I'll try and get some pics up in the coming days. It's a very lovely piece of wood. Thanks very much, Rick.

Cr8z13 congrats on your new MyrtleZAP!

I've had mine about a month and it's consistently producing nice, milky hits. I'm just now getting to the point where I don't think about technique & simply enjoy the high. I've run about a half an ounce of killer bud through it.

Enjoy!

Ordered my primo zap 10/31, got it 11/9. What a lovely piece of lumber. Knew after a few days I had to try the 13.5v transformer. Ordered one 11/12, got it 11/15. Rick is ddaaaaa mmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn! I prefer the performance with the 13.5v by a mile. Way thicker clouds and the abv cooks to a deep brown. The efficiency is amazing.

I have been getting some HUGE vapor clouds lately. My setup is to have it plugged in 24/7 and putting this Koozie i made over it for 15min before i start (i just took a Koozie and sewed the bottom to the side. Then i cut a hole in the bottom to put the stem in). I'll remove the flower when i put it on. Then ill load the bowl and let it sit in the vape for 5min before i hit it. the clouds are huge and make me cough everytime. :o Ill then let it sit for 5min everytime i hit it and ill get 3-4 good hits before its done.

I was wondering where i would get a 13.5v adapter. If anyone could help me that would be great!

Very interesting technique, Puff. I'm using the 13.5 plug that Rick sells but I'm going to keep my eyes open for some kind of koozie. Here are some pics:

Regarding those huge vapor clouds, I'm still working on that. I did manage to get one massive hit on the first day that made me cough but I haven't quite been able to duplicate it though I'm getting nice hits, just not like the big one. Anybody have any tips? I puff on it like a cigar until I can see vapor, then I draw steady and slow.

Cr8z13, very nice looking unit.....

I assume some are getting only the 13.5v plug after reading my posts in the lounge? I would personally suggest on getting the 12v and the 13.5v. 12 is nice in the morning for a light puff......

My unit came with both transformers. Haven't even tried the 12v yet.

I caught that one too. We were quick on that 13.5 to you but not that quick.

Thanks to a good customer, we have found a second source for the 13.5 volt transformers that is about 1/2 the price we pay at Jameco. They have not yet arrived so we will wait to comment on them but it does appear we can offer them at a much more reasonable price.
Cr8z13 opted for the 13.5 when he ordered his Myrtle which is the best way to do it as our extra shipping is minimal. They are heavy little turds so shipping alone is pricey.
Also looks like we will no longer be able to get the cheaper 12 volts from Jameco so will have to keep looking for a better deal on 12 volters.

Happy Turkey day everyone.

Hey Rick,

Any luck on the variable voltage power supply? I've been searching and have found a couple that include 12 and 13.5v. One is a no name brand shipping from Hong Kong through ebay. Another is manufactured by Minwa and is sold from the UK. Also, any suggestions on physical stores that I might try? I'm heading out to Radio Shack now but I can't think of anywhere else to try. I know I could get a separate 13.5v adapter but having it all in one would be sweet. I like the idea of not covering my Zap with a koozie when I want to vape at the higher temp. Also, is 13.5v the highest you recommend?

I think rick should send a myrtlezap to the white house for obama! I bet he'd like one, and it might make him reconsider the Afghanistan war!

Cr8z13 - stunning pattern on your MZ - they are quite beautiful aren't they?

Regarding tips - I regularly get whatever type of hit I'm looking for using the 12v - my lung capacity isn't the greatest, but I'm able to draw some massive hits. An iron-lunged friend has drawn AMAZING hits. I wish I had my video camera on hand, would love to post his hits online.

There are quite a few tips regarding getting the most out of your MZ - I posted my techniques recently on (I think) this thread. There are other techniques discussed too, and my best advice is to try everything you read until you find what works best for you & your MyrtleZAP.

Enjoy!

No luck on the variable. I have looked a little but find limited voltages(not high enough) but mostly too much money for me to consider. I am thinking the 13.5 with the 12 volt offers the best range for the lowest money. Yes, a bit of a hassle but minimal really. We also find most folks are like Vapofish in that the 12 volt does just fine most of the time.

I still think some folks have not perfected the stem tip pack/pull flow. Keep varying the technique just a little, even when you think it is good. I also still recommend a medium pack of the stem tip for proper restriction of the airflow. You pull with a bit more vacuum and slower but get big heavy hits.
