Cheap High Quality Bubbler

So I've been talking to Kathy, trying to work this out before putting in an official dispute with Dhgate. At first she offered me half my money back, which I thought was kind of strange. I considered it for a second, but the thing's honestly pretty useless. It pulls bubbling oil straight into the stem and then drips it down the outside of my joint... Not usable at all in the long term, despite the couple of dabs I've done off of it. So I told her that and asked again for either a refund or replacement, and she asked me (I think) to send the nail back to her. This is what she actually said:

"this one we sent to all other clients all very good . and we checking my stock all very good too
if you really can't usually send back to us ,then we will checking where is the mistake.
Thank you."
I replied asking if this meant that she wanted me to send it back, and asked if she would pay shipping (not worth it to me, obviously, to ship an $11 nail back to china, plus I used it anyway). What do you guys think of this whole thing? Is she being unrealistic? Am I?? This is Kathy we're talking about, who is known and well-liked here, and has a reputation for making good stuff...

I'm not sure how to handle this. On the one hand I don't want to pay for useless stuff, but I also don't want to stress over a cheapo nail. So what would you guys do? Demand satisfaction, or chalk it up to "you win some, you lose some" with China glass, trash the nail, and move on with your life?
I would ask her to give you an $11 credit towards another purchase.

Like i said, I have no memory of it at all. If the system didn't have my name attached to it I would deny it all day long! I don't even remember ever typing that sentence.
My guess is that North Korea is just going down their hit list alfabetically of enemies they hack.

grdwaste,

goin to some place where I've never been before
Got my FC-187's in the mail today. Ordered 2. Came very well packed, both in one box. Each individually wrapped in bubble wrap with 5-6 layers then he also added some foam and cardboard pieces along the sides and top to reinforce them. Looks like the box went through some stress too as it was quite beat up, but they both arrived with no damage at all, so cheers to steven on his packing this time. He does seem to be learning. As for the pieces, they both have slight differences between them in terms of size of the can and how low the perc goes to the bottom. I guess it should be expected from chinese pieces made in bulk. On one the can is noticeably taller, cant really tell if its wider, if it is, not by much. Glass is thick and feels sturdy, mouthpiece connections are solid looking, and the angle is nice. The perc on the one with the smaller can looks like it has some imperfections and its slightly higher from the bottom. Only tried the one with the bigger can so far and it hits decent. Not as fluid as the original 187, but the feel and position of the mouthpiece make up for this in my opinion. It is much more comfortable of an angle to hit with it sitting on my desk opposed to the original which wrenched my neck bending over. No issue with this fc-187. I'm far enough away also that i dont feel heat on my face and glasses. All in all i am very pleased with it.

Still waiting on the tube and pillar but got my feet wet with the double vortex recycler. I noticed @Frederick McGuire gave it a five star rating, that's good enough for me! Here is hoping for a quality product and quick, safe delivery from Ms. Kathy! Which reminds me, @syrupy have you two married yet?
:D
Just be careful with the water level coming pretty high up the joint (only use a domeless nail for dabbing), and you should enjoy it immensely :)

That looks identical to another piece sold by growhighglass aka CCG.

Here's the link to the Dhgate page:

Here's a function video:
Looks like that top chamber can fill up if your not careful but that might also be because he has it overfilled

First 2 from SSS came flawless and packaged amazingly for the price. One more package with 2 d020's in it is in the state. And i ordered like 5 more models. I have a problem lol. Use to just have way to much american glass. Im gonna have 7 different models for less then 300$ if all goes as planned. My cheapest american piece was more then 300..

Dont get me wrong i might still get a gridded american piece for ocassiasion but dam are these killer

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on in this piece?

So air would come in the stem, go down, flow through the showerhead the wrong way, perc up the return tube and bubble in the return funnel?
 ...I almost want to get it. Just to have it on my shelf and see who notices.

EDIT: How about this one?:

I stumbled across it on my own a while ago, but think I remember seeing it on this thread way, way back.

I saw that one at the same time as the other one I posted. I was scratching my head over that one for a few minutes before I chuckled and said "that shit won't work!!". Then ordered the little recycler.

Hi folks. First post here. Happy New Year. Here's to '15 when I stop combusting. I own an Arizer Extreme and a Thermovape which I'd like to sell and get a Solo and am waiting for any reports of the DZ-026 bubbler, as a previous poster had asked about, to go with the Solo.

Anyhoo- I brew and just wanted to give the FYI on PBW so folks could use the more readily available version. PBW works great and I use it all the time. It is though almost identical to OxyClean Free, albeit with a surfactant added to help penetrate the cleaner. When brewers run out of PBW for the brewery, we have no qualms about going to the store to pick up Oxyclean to do basically the same job for less money. Just get the 'Free' version without the perfumes.

PBW does go after basically anything organic and destroys cells. Great for lots of things. It decreases in effectiveness after about an hour or so when the oxygen has done it's thing, but a good soak overnight is the best way to get brew gear almost totally clean without much scrubbing. Also good to take labels off of beer bottles to bottle your personal brew.

Some professional brewers use PBW (the commercial version) but many more use a much harsher chemical called ... Caustic.

I wouldn't recommend getting something from China if you're going to be upset over ~20 dollars tbh. It's basically the risk you assume in purchasing something from a mass scale factory overseas that cost nothing to manufacture. I guess thats my opinion though. I would pretty much dgaf if my $40 dollar piece arrived broken and they wanted me to purchase more in order to get a replacement. That's why I have a $400 dollar Mobius as well. I know what I'm expecting with both products and it's pretty much inline with the money you are spending.

NewVape

What a guy!
*sigh* now I join the long slow wait for glass, as 3 of my orders sit in limbo between San Franciso and my home less then 500 miles away. Curse you New Year's Day for delaying the mail.

Oh and Happy New Year FC.

Oh, yeah. I'm not upset, haha. I always assume it's a gamble, and either way the nail is just tiding me over till I get my new awesome custom JoDa honeybucket...

I'm mostly wondering how to handle this based on the principle of the thing. This is a seller that this community has a long and complicated history with, and she sent me out a defective item and is being sketchy about it when I ask her to make it right. I don't care about the money, but on principle I feel that she should make it right, and don't want to encourage the idea that she can send out sub-par merchandise with no repercussions.

Again though, I'm not sure how important all that really is, which is why I'm turning to this thread, who has a long history of dealings and interactions with Kathy, to see what they think about the matter. So, those of you who have had less-than-optimal dealings with Kathy in the past, what do you think? What would you do?

FML... first dead on arrival. Box was smashed to shit, and it had to be on the thickest, nicest crafted piece I've seen yet, looks American blown. Stemline to imperial/crystal ball that was being talked about a lil ago.

Also the seller replaced their bong category with glass dildos lmao, hopefully they'll have stock and send me another piece. Sketched about shipping now.
Do you have a link to this piece and who was the seller
I would also like to see what this piece looks like when intact
