Hey guys!

Haven't been to this thread in a while. Just an update since it's been about 3 weeks now with the Mighty. After 3 whole weeks, it's my most used machine ever! I love this thing and I take it everywhere and have turned into a major pothead because of it. I rarely use my Volcano now which I still love. Just love this device way way more. Friends love it too. So after I got my initial unit, I messed up the LCD screen in a really bad way. Storz-Bickel were awesome about my dumbass. They sent me a new unit free of charge and included a pre-paid box to send the old one too. New one is flawless. Excellent customer service on their end too. I bought the car adapter which is awesome and one extra cooling unit.

One thing I noticed after 3 weeks of hard use was that it's been tough lately to get some nice clouds going. Vapor has been thin. I thought it was my rosemary bushes. I thought they had dried out too much or something. Stupid me. Thing was clogged and it was such a slow build that I barely noticed. So rule of thumb. Keep an extra cooling unit on hand or clean regularly. Installing the brand new unit resulted in me smoking several hits, passing out, rolling out of my favorite chair and then rolling off my deck, landing on a skateboard which rolled down my driveway and into a bus. I'm ok now. The mighty is awesome. Favorite buy. That is all.

Oh wait. No. One more thing. How are you guys and gals cleaning your cooling units? I was just going to dunk it into rubbing alcohol and let it soak up those juices for 1 hour and then hopefully it just rinses off? I don't know how this works.
First off let me just say that @futurebong you are fucking AWESOME! :rockon:The video, now this story! We need a pilot for a tv show with you brother! Anyway, I take the cooling chamber apart after a session so the gunk inside is warm then give it an iso bath for 30 min (S&B says not to soak too long in iso) then I get a kitchen brush for dishes and scrub it down in the iso. Everything should come out nicely. Then I rinse in cool water and let dry then reassemble. Good to go. Definitly need to get another cooling chamber though so I can be vapin while I do this.

I'm pretty sure I read here that S&B says not to soak it, but to just rub it with a cotton pad or something like that in ISO.

As I recall the book recommends using Alcohol(ethyl) as a cleaning solvent, but don't soak it for more than 1 hour because plastic can discolor and turn brittle. It alternatively recommends using warm water with wash-up liquid, if not alcohol solvent.

Agreed futurebong - the efficiency of the unit goes down dramatically if you don't keep it clean. This was my experience with the Plenty as well, and I think it's a necessary trade-off between how cool the vapor is and how efficient the stream will be over time. The Plenty has a ridged metal spiral, and the Crafty a two-layer plastic baffle, but in any event the end result is the same.

I've been popping the cooling unit apart into its constituent pieces, swabbing each down with a q-tip/pipe cleaner soaked in alcohol to remove the major debris, and then dunking all of the pieces in alcohol. S&B recommends soaking for less than an hour, as Bill mentioned, but in my experience the whole thing is clean after soaking for only a couple of minutes. No damage so far as I can tell, but given how cheap the cooling units are I'm going to experiment and see how easily/lazily I can clean this thing. I definitely want at least one more cooling unit so I can use one while the other dries.

Hey guys I'm about to pull the trigger on the mighty, just wondering should I buy it from vapornation and get two free gifts and 46 dollars off or should I just but it through the Storz and Bickle website?

how are you going to get the $46.00 dollars off?

Edit: I see the 10 per cent discount, I didn't think it applied to S&B products.

Just placed an order for the mighty from vapornation.Com the 10% discount code did work but I had to pay 16 dollars to ship it through ups because I hate usps lol. Thanks for helping me make the decision to go with the mighty I appreciate it. I'll let you guys know if it was the right choice once it gets here

can someone post the 10% discount code for vapornation?

edit: nevermind found it

just jumped the gun using the 10% code on vapornation. 422$ with free shipping (too bad it's not overnight like S&B).

My experience with them has been okay, but one thing you should be aware of, they do not state on their site when they are out of stock. When I asked them about the new S&B portables a week ago, they advised they did not have any in stock yet. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I did notice that the Crafty (on vapornation) does say "Sold out ETA 2 days" but there is no such sign for the mighty. Hope that's a good sign

I came real close to pulling the trigger when it was $422. The only thing that stopped me was deep down I want the crafty. Judging by the reviews you can't go wrong with either one.

yea my order is processing but I'm not too worried about it because they say one to three business days before they ship and I ordered it late on Friday.

I am about to order a mighty, size is not huge issue. Should I get a crafty instead or stick with my gut instinct and go mighty?

Thanks for reply, think I will have to order a mighty.

I was going to go with the crafty too but I didn't want to regret not getting the mighty... I ordered it off vapornation but now theyre saying itll be 5-7 days before theyre in stock :\

yeah i am chatting with them now too. i am thinking about cancelling the order and just ordering a crafty from S&B with free overnight shipping. They said 3-5 days to process refund tho? that is pretty deceptive imo, they didn't put a sign up like they did the crafty that says out of stock

If size isn't the issue , i'd get the Mighty. I got the Crafty because i was looking for a new great portable and the Crafty is light, fits in my hand and is kicking my ass with vapor production and taste. It lasts me all night at home and has pass through charging if i need it, but i haven't needed to do that yet.
The Mighty has twice the battery life for only $50 more ;) I'll probably get one of those too cause i want one  I don't need one , but when has want and need ever been a deciding factor when you have VAS :D
