FlowerMate Vapormax V/V5.0/V5.0S/V5 Pro

I ordered mine from AVD the same day as @Everlyblue , Friday and he didn't text me the tracking code like he said he would. I called and got it and it turned out he shipped it Monday from Cali and it was in good ol Maryland by Wednesday. Oh and mine was black too, but I prefer that over the blue

Fantastic! I ordered mine Tuesday, so I'm gonna be anxious all day tomorrow hoping I'll be able to break it in this weekend :D

Having had the red, blue and black versions in my hands, I can confirm that the black is beautiful. Red and blue are nice too and I think they are stealthier to pass as hard drives or old mp3 players etc. The black tends to catch the attention a bit more, but maybe that's just me...

Coincidence you should mention old MP3 players, the FM 5s fits snugly in an old Apple iPod case.

Hello all, I'm a long time lurker here but first time poster. You all are the reason why I originally bought my original Da Vinci! Anyways, I ordered my variable temp flowermate from AVD like some of you here. I had to call a few times to get things straight, then I realized that I had not given them my email to receive shipping and tracking info. I sent 3 emails to the email listed on their website with no response. I trust the dealer based off of their rep on this forum so this isn't a big deal to me. @Everlyblue you said it took 4 days to get to your door. What area of the US do you live in? If you don't mind me asking of course. I live on the east coast and am looking for an estimated date of arrival.

To get from Oakland, Ca (West Coast) to Amherst, Mass (East Coast) snail mail took a leisurely week + in my case, so have a leisurely "vape" (toke) over the line.

it will be well worth the agony of the wait when you get your new toy.

Mine came with a sticker that said black on the side too but the unit was Blue and had the glass mouth piece. Im glad I got the glass mouth piece as I probably wouldnt of wanted to use it with the other one. Authorized vapor dealer sent it out 2 day mail though so I got it 3 days after ordering in Florida from Cali.

A taste on the tongue
Went to an army surplus shop with a friend he wanted some boots and I got this for £6.99 (I've included the brand name in case anyone looks for one online) - It's a notebook holder

1) Yes the charger is also inside the front flap

2) Flap open so you can the see the charger (not the most steady picture)

3) The inside zipped open plenty of room for spare mouthpiece and a container of herbs (it's a lot slimmer without the charger)

4) And finally the rear complete with belt loop - handy if trekking or something or just plain good old stoned adventuring

Yet another long-time-lurker-first-time-poster here. What a great forum this is! Reminds me of the best aspects of the Internet, largely gone except in isolated forums such as this.

Anyway, based on the reviews on this thread, I ordered the adjustable one by phone on Monday and received it on Thursday (I live in the Seattle area). Forgot to ask if I could get black, but as it turns out, AVD sent black anyway!

Has more airway resistance than I expected. I tried taking out the screen at the bottom of the pyrex mouthpiece, but the particles just ended up clogging the 5 holes on the non-removable (at least it looks non-removable) inner screen on the mouthpiece. I wonder if using too fine of a grind makes it more likely to clog?

A wide open draw on a vape like this wouldn't really be good. It would allow too much air too quickly and compromise the vaping temp. People who don't understand the relationship between draw speed and vapor output would be hitting too hard/fast and asking 'where's the vapor?' The 5 holes in the mouthpiece (not really a screen), restricting the draw, are there for a reason. You can improve vapor flow a little by replacing the mouthpiece screen with a standard stainless steel pipe screen. Another method for an easier draw is to open your lips a little and draw in outside air during the hit.

The draw with this model really isn't that restrictive compared to a model like the Indica, where I ended up drilling out the mouthpiece hole to 3 times the normal size. I would certainly not do that kind of modification with the FM. It doesn't have the muscular heater like you'd find on the DaVinci Ascent, for example, and the draw needs to be restricted to some extent.

Since I have a surplus of mouthpieces I decided to throw caution to the wind and widen out those 5 holes a bit using a 1/16th drill bit. I'll test it out tonight and see how she goes.

To pipe in, my unit seems to produce some particulates, so even if you don't decide to widen the five holes, it may be wise to put a fine mesh screen in the pathway, replacing the metal screen in the MP.

Rather filter out the foreign debris, than suck them into your ( my ) lungs.

I'm very surprised you're getting particulates. I have used 4 different flowermates and never gotten any material in my mouth. All I've ever used was the 5-hole screen and the mesh screen that FM comes with.

I, too, was surprised!

The double globed glass in ( pic- ) ( ture ) was clean initially....

My Flowermate just arrived! I too got a box with a sticker on the side saying "black" but I opened it to find mine is blue. Oh well, color doesn't bother me. Time to charge this thing and put her to work!

Just to update you guys...drilling out the 5-hole screen was a total success. I dunno if I'd bore it out any greater than 1/16th, but it resulted in a much easier draw.

Yes you have, although the particles would be too small to detect unless you removed the screen or maybe replaced it with a standard ss screen. The stock screen is a fine mesh and blocks more material than your usual screen. In fact, the supplied screens will require more frequent cleaning because of this. Brushing the ABV off the mouthpiece screen immediately after use helps, but still....

Glad it worked out for you. It's not designed to be a screen though, since it won't stop anything that's gotten past the mp screen. Think of it as a restrictor plate.

Authorized Vaporizer Dealer got cleaned out of FM's by a local dealer, so no more 'blue overstock'. I do think he'll have the best price on this model though, and I imagine the best price will be a phone order.

Okay, we're sort of splitting hairs on technicalities here. Particulate may have not been an appropriate word. It would probably be more accurate to say that I've never gotten noticeable debris in my mouth from my flowermates. Ever. I have used both the stock screen as well as the SS screens my ascent came with. With my Ascent...that one I caught a bit of debris with until I figured out the nuances.

That's probably a better word for it, I just never knew what to address it as. In any case, going slightly larger has proven very nice. I wouldn't want to go too much larger, as I think the returns would be diminishing.

And with the stock screen you certainly wouldn't get anything you'd notice, but any screen with holes will allow particulates to pass.

An official NASCAR restrictor plate looks just like it, only with 4 holes instead of five, and since it doesn't seem to serve any other purpose, I'd say that's exactly what they had in mind.

I imagine you just drilled out the center hole larger?

Nope, I drilled them all down.

Did the vapor seem less dense? I'm tempted to do the same, but I think Max makes a good point above about possibly cooling down the vaporization.

I did not consider the vapor less dense, I just felt like I was able to inhale the dense vapor quicker. I will have to try with two FMs side by side with one drilled resistor plate.

Hi everyone,

I just charged my Vapormax for the first time. My Vapormax won't turn on after charging. The charging light is green. It just flash the red light 3 times everytime I click 5 times on the SW button. I've been charging it for 12 hours.. What could be the problem? Thank you for your help!

My Vapormax won't open up after charging.

When you say "won't open up" do you mean "won't turn on" or do you mean you literally can't open the box (meaning, can't move the slider)? If it won't turn on, I'd agree you need to contact the retailer. If you mean the slider is stuck (mine is less than a week old and the slider is a little sticky), try inserting something like a skinny screwdriver or even your thumbnail into the crack and push it open.
