Has anyone been able to achieve a good body high from vaping? I know typically Indicas will produce a stronger body high than Sativas and I grew a pure Indica (landrace) strain just for that reason. I get a strong body high when smoking it but not so much so when vaping it. What temps are others using for a body high when vaping flowers? I understand higher temps release more of the sedative properties. Is anyone getting good body highs and if so how, and what temps, etc.? Thanks

Hi @Norcalsun... I experimented different temps with this Ascent.... most of my experiments were with sativa but some with indica. At low temps (280-315 F) I get a good head high.... for body high, I always put it to the max 420F+. I realized that after quiting smoking and starting vaping my high seems not as good... but after 1 week, I can tell you they are a lot better. I used to put a mix of herb and tobacco... that was also helping in giving me a head buzz (I was not a tobacco smoker).

My temps depend the the herb I'm vaping. I normally start out at 375 and work my way up. If too harsh I dial down, if not enough vapor flavor I go higher. I usually don't go higher than 395 with herb. If I have wax in the middle I'll go 10 degrees higher.

Received my 14mm water adapter tool a couple of days ago and so far I love it! While typically I pair my desktop vape with water, it is nice to have the variability and option to use my ascent with some glass.

Definitely a nice piece to have in the collection.

How does the water adapter tool work? I have the 18 mm one and it fits my water pipe but I'm yet to try it. Do you remove the ascent like a slide when it's filled up with vapor?

I love my ascent so much haha =p

I found the Ascent actually produces a pretty dense vapor cloud if you start at higher temps like 375F. To clear the bubbler, simply remove the ascent + WPA together (try to get a good hold on the ascent to prevent it from snapping the long WPA...

Speaking of which - why the hell is the WPA so damn long - does anyone else feel it would be awesome if it were half as long?

^^^^Yup.

I completely agree, it's almost awkward especially with the weight distribution. You really need to hang on to the ascent to avoid breaking the adapter piece.

Thanks for the tip guys! I probably won't use the water tool much because I like the portability aspect but it would be worth a try!

Pro Tip - Instead of using the retractable stem for dry vaping, try using the WPA as a mouthpiece. Insert fully (giggity) to the bottom of the vapor path. You'll find the draw restriction is tighter and the vapor is thicker.

(Not sure how comfortable the 18mm WPA is as a mouthpiece, I've only tried the 14mm and enjoy it).

Probably to give it a cooler vapor taste? What is the WPA? Are you talking about the GonG or WonG? That abbreviation I'm not familiar with. Water pipe accessory possibly?

I'm beginning to learn to use my ascent correctly and I love it, however I can't seem to find anyone complain about how difficult it is to retract the straw from the mouthpiece. I would say it is because i have big hands but it hurts like a bitch to take the straw out each time. My girlfriend with small hands has to take it out for me each time, and even she has trouble. i tried using the cap for the straw to help pull it out but even that didn't help is there an easy way to remove the straw from the top? i even removed the straws for cleaning and used the spare set and had the same problem

I definitely have difficulty extending a fully retracted straw. To combat this problem I never push my mouthpiece fully down into the unit. I just cap it and push it in util the rubber cap is flush with the buddy rim (or a tiny bit taller than the rim). It then spends every not in use moment snuggled tightly in the velvety bag, so it doesn't snag on anything in this position. It moves up and down more freely for me starting out partially extended as I have described (and I always let my bowl reach temperature before extending my straw). From fully retracted I agree it is more than a bit difficult.

WPA = water pipe adapter. I was referring to the 14mm GonG.

When fully inserted, the 14mm GonG actually gives a hotter vapor because there is no cool air entering the vapor path (which is normal when using the retractable glass stem mouthpiece).

I've been experimenting with vaping at higher temps lately- 400F- 420F. I've found that I get much higher. The effects seem much more noticeable and I'm getting more of the sedative effect that I'm looking for . It's not quite as strong as combusting but getting close. I can take smaller hits that make toking much more comfortable, no more over expanding my lungs. I'm blowing out more vapor than ever. I'm aware that at these temps there could be some nasties(benzene) but it's a fair trade off IMO and still better than combusting. My lungs feel a lot better also. The high seems to last longer too. I'm very impressed with the Ascent but considering that they state it does oils and waxes well, which it certainly does not, it should be much cheaper. It's on the verge of false advertisement stating that it does oil and wax. One of the reasons I decided on the Ascent was its ability to vape oils. I would have been happier paying about $175 for this unit. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, I haven't had to send mine in for repairs yet and I've owned it for about 10 months. All around great portable vape for flowers only, of course you could mix your oil with bud but it's just not the same as vaping straight oil. With that said I'm seriuosly looking at the Haze ($250) and vapes oils and waxes. Go to Massdrop and vote for it, should be able to get a good discount soon. It's not on sale or discounted anywhere so Massdrop might be the best place to get one cheap.

Hey guys, sadly my ascent gave up on itself last night. 3 months old and one of the newer units. Screen turned on but would not heat up and just sat at 20c about room temperature.

Bit gutted because I don't have a backup. I've now ordered an arizer solo and look forward to having a brand spanking new ascent again. Next few days will suck!

Try putting BHO or wax in the middle of your herb and vape away. Too bad the jars don't work. The Pinnacle Pro also claims that the oil can works. It just make a big mess.

@Ratchett I too have always wondered why the glass WPA just isn't shortened. When I am able to get a good deal and finally replace my Ascent the first thing I will be doing is contacting @Ed's TnT about a wong. I don't know off hand if he cuts them to the same length as the glass wong that DaVinci sells, but I think a shorter wong would be ideal.

@CarolKing I really think you would fall in love with the Haze. I have never been able to try it with waxes, oils, or concentrates personally. However, the reviews are very positive.

What website do you guys recommend buying the ascent from? How long have you guys used it before running into issues? I'm planning to use it daily

I suggest you buy your Ascent at Puffitup. You will get free shipping and you won't have to pay for shipping if the unit turns out to have issues. Puffitup will send you a return label via computer.

They are an FC sponsor too.

guys how much you grinding stuff ? it`s better to grinding to maximum to a tiny pieces or only little grinding and vape..Witch is better with ASCENT ??
And one more question. I use ASCENT very rarely. 2 times a month maybe (i`v got another vape too). As in this case, how i must recharge the batteries to avoid damaging it? When loads the battery indicator blinks endlessly...So how many hours i must charge to take no damage to battery and Ascnet ?

I like mine just ground up a little tbh, when the bud fluffs up nicely, 1 or 2 turns with grinder. Didn't enjoy it with finely ground up bud.

Not really sure on the second thing, but I think @OF linked me to this when I was asking questions about batteries so might help..

I usually charge mine up 4-6 hours but if you're not using it much a different approach may be better.

Hi everyone! Let try this again.

I am trying to find a good place to buy an Ascent online.

Anyone know some ongoing good deals?

Currently I am just waiting for massdrop to get fulfilled, last one the price was 180.

I wouldn't mind if I have to pay a bit more, I need to get an extra set of glass tube.

Thanks in advance!
