Question about resin build-up in the short stem:
Since I last cleaned my short stem, I vaped maybe 10 grams through it. Earlier today I was vaping while the air conditioner was blowing cold air directly on my LB. I don't know if this is coincidence or not, but I noticed I'm getting the resin on my lips, and I looked at the stem and it was caked with resin. Much more than I thought there was before.
Could the cold air from the AC greatly increase condensation inside the stem?
I'll try to clean the stem with the blow drier as someone here previously mentioned, hope I'll get some nice oil :brow:

@mio4sho Your Launch Box looks clean. It almost makes me want to buy another one juat to appreciate it. Enjoy it. It can easily be a main vape, and to some it is.

Lovin' the MFLB! This thing is so efficient, I threw in not even a .1 and got about 7-8 hits at least out of it. Not to mention, I was noticeably high, but a clean and clear high as I didn't feel tired. I loved my first experience with the MFLB and I can't wait to test it out further. I assume I didn't grind my buds down to perfect consistency (it was quite dank, needed to dry it out better) but overall the ABV was a dark brown almost black at points so I got a bunch of good rips. I didn't want to leave any green on the buds so I kept on tokin' :brow: All-in-all it was a great experience, I really love vaping now. That's all for now can't wait to try this out more extensively!
I would grind MUCH finer than this...nice looking herb though.

can I ask someone to post a photo of what a fine grind should look like?
Since the LB is mainly a conduction vape, the finer the grind the better. The pic in the post by mlo4sho shows a grind that would be OK in most convection vapes, but getting all that surface area in contact with the LB screen is going to be almost impossible. To get a really fine grind for the LB requires dry herb, and it's hard to convert high quality sticky stuff to the tiny grains that work best in this vape. You may have to take a few hits and stir, then take out the load, which will be drier from vaping, and regrind or even use your fingers to crumble it up as fine as you can get it.

It does need to be a fine grind for the LB to work most efficiently. I use pretty high grade herb, so mine is sticky too. I take a couple hits, and then dump the bowl into the palm of my hand and crumble it between my fingers. I was double grinding, but I am trying this method because double grinding is harder for me lately.

What do you normally grind in?

I've been doing essentially the same thing as you, though I have contemplated getting another grinder to grind the first vaped bud, but that may be overkill.

I use a Mix n Ball Classic grinder, and I also have a Mix n Ball Nano. (it's the size of a quarter) I was using the Nano for the second grind, but it became too much for me to do as I have RA in my hands really bad. I also have a brand new Sharpstone grinder, but it sits unused because it grinds too coarse for the LB. I just keep it as a backup now.

Thanks, Vicki, I really appreciate the info. I'm going to order the Mix 'n Ball. I have a SharpStone and it's great for rolling j's but you are correct. It grinds to course for the LB.

Don't order a Mix n Ball grinder directly from the manufacturer. I've heard he isn't getting back to customers, or filling their orders in a timely manner. I would look on ebay, if it were me.

Just ordered my MFLB!

This will be my first experience with vaping.

I got the full kit with the 3 in 1 charger.

I live overseas, so it will be interesting to see how customs deal with this (and how long it will take to arrive!)

Excited!

I just got my Powerex MH-C9000 charger/analyzer and I can't say enough about how this charger woke up my batteries/LB back up. I have had the MFLB for about 2 months and I was just using a $20 energizer smart charger and 15 min charger and my hits just got weaker and weaker etc...then after some digging in this thread I settled on the Powerex and all I can say is it is worth the bit of extra $$$. Wish I would of got this from the get go!!

^^ Best charger on the market! I highly recommend the Powerex as well. It has brought many batteries back to life that I thought were done.

For a new comer like me does anyone want to summarize this 146page thread. Not out of laziness on my part just think this item is hot with lots of traffic.

Would be nice to see some highlights of tips / tricks / things to know

How to get the most out of your box and have the best experience possible

Doesn't need to be a huge post, everyone just chime in with whatever they have to say

thanks!

1. Everyone likes this machine. Get one.
2. It is an outstanding travel vape and remarkably stealthy.
3. It is a good all-around vape.
4. Great guarantee and customer service.
5. Very efficient.
6. For maximum efficiency and affect, grind your plant substance fine.
7. Then grind it again.
8. If your botanicals are wet or sticky, grind, vape once or twice to dry, regrind, revape.
9. Faster draw = lower temp (and conversely) Slower draw = higher temp
10. Most folks hit it "native", meaning directly from the wood, without the clear tubing
11. It is smaller than you think.
12. Not a good party vape. Best for one user (or possibly two).
13. It is hard to explain the correct battery usage to a crowd.
14. It takes a short time to become an expert user.
15. Upgrade path = Better Charger (no hurry though)
16. Heavy users need more batteries (which must be peeled of their labels to work correctly).
17. Everyone posting here combines the qualities of being articulate, opinionated, polite and friendly - a truly rare occurrence on the web.
18. Consensus says, "no hash".
19. When not in use, reverse battery in hole or better yet store in case. No metal in pocket with battery!

Well done Attack.

I will agree that hash is not a good idea, but kief is fucking awesome. I prefer a kief/finely ground bud combo, at most a 1 to 1 ratio, usually more like 3 parts bud 1 part kief. Makes that trench last alllll day when you're out and about. I like to be able to get where I want in a couple of hits for stealth reasons sometimes, and a super powered kief/bud trench always gets it done.

hi guys,

so most of you who use it native has probably experienced dead lip skin on the box at one time or another :)

This reason stopped me from using it native more often than I would. Maybe I need to drink more water, who knows....I usually use a stem when at home so not a problem but in group usage, I let everyone else use the stem but when I use it, I just pull out the stem and use it native...

I have found smearing this around the draw hole helped tremendously and feels nice on the lips:

I have no idea if it should be used on wood, but for now it works quite nice!

pluckytree - interesting site. Lots of hemp products. You'd probably want to find something else to buy besides the balm sampler. They'll charge $5 to ship the 10 ct. sample.

New poster. I just ordered this Sunday and according to USPS Tracking, I'm getting it today. I'm really as excited as I probably can be for having shelled out $100. I know I will enjoy it and get good use of it though. One thing that's bothering me and I've done a lot of reading: I upgraded my vapeworld order by $12 so they could include an Aerospace 4 piece grinder, since I knew that I'd need a grinder. I've been doing some reading and apparently this won't be enough of a fine grind? Seriously? I have no more money to spend, so if this is true, can someone help me make it work? Should I just grind the herbs for a few minutes and then chop them up with scissors in a glass? Or will the 4-piece grinder grind well enough if I just sit there a bit?
