One more question I wanted to ask.

How long does it take you to grind to the required consistency.

Just want to have a rough idea of when I'm in the right ball park when grinding myself.

I think that grind time would vary depending on what kind of grinder you have and the quality of your herb, it is more something that is done by sight than by time.

So the best herb is when its fine ground? Because it seems it doesnt grab everything if you leave it in nugs

Also... is it ok for the battery and wood end where the stem goes to get hot?

I find that when i feel the tip of the stem get hot on my lips its time to pull the battery out

so i got some eneloops along with the ones my magic flight came with
and i was charging two of them with the two it came with in my rapid charger
the light turned green (done charging), and i rolled them over (to see if they were done, because sometimes the light will change from green to red if you do that) and the light turned off
i got a weird battery smell from it, but they (i checked to make sure and it was the ones that came with the flight box) still power my magic flight and seem to charge in the charger it came with, and the ones i bought separately charge fine without the other ones
but i was wondering if anything serious happened? im just worried because it seemed bad but im not exactly sure what happened

true.

Does anyone have a photo of the desired grind?

I know its a bit courser than kief but "a bit" is very subjective.

I just want to know what I'm aiming for from the word go.

I would recommend a grind that would at least pass without pressure/force through the mesh of a common window screen. If it is at least this fine, then that is a good start.

A actually used some real fresh herb the other day in my LB. I was on the move, and had no grinder and just threw about 6 or 7 sticky bud booger balls into the LB. The did fill the trench up more full then i usally do. The first few hits were thin, but i was able to then crumble the herb further after stopping and trying. After about 4 puffs, i was able to crummble it to dust and continue. Not what i would want to do every time, but does work when needed.

OK WOW so we really are talking about a powder like grind.

Its a good job I posed this question because I would never have used such a fine grind unless I knew that I specifically had to.

When I think fine I think "hand rolling fine"

fine ground is the way to go....ive been using mortar and pestle with great results....is there any advantage of using a grinder over the mortar and pestle?

Thanks steiner666

I went with the 2" Titanium Space Case you recommended.

The reason I decided against the space case with the storage pot was that the grinder itself was only 1.5" diameter and I just thought this would be too small!

I do that too sometimes, works great and hasn't had any adverse effects on my LB yet. Its just stuff that turns to goo when it gets hot that you need to avoid putting in this thing IMO.

I don't know that it is recommended that you vape kief in it. I know that when I use kief in my whip type vape, the wand gets super dirty fast. I would imagine it could really gunk up your screen/box. Make sure you do a cleaning cycle with your battery often if you are going to continue to use kief in your mix and I would brush off the screen with every trench. :2c:

Yeah it sucks through in my ssv screen, but the screen in the LB is significantly finer and I havent had any real problems with it there. I also brush and blow the trench out after every session too, so i'm sure that helps avoid build-up. That little brush has become the most valuable tool for sure, esp if you load a powdery bowl up and then carry it around and shake it up for a while b4 hitting it. Brushing everything into the trench b4 the first hit is what i usually do.

Well, I'm still waiting for my LB to arrive :( looks like it will be Monday.

I suppose now is as good a time as any to ask about additional batteries and chargers.

I'm thinking of getting the La Crosse BC-900 charger. Does anyone have any criticisms of this charger or a better recommendation.

Does anyone know how fast this charges on its highest setting?

As for batteries, I gather there are two types, one holds more charge but loses charge over time, the other holds less charge but dosnet lose charge over time.

In laymans terms which do I need? Any does anyone have any make and model suggestions?

Thomas Distributimg does not carry La Crosse and if Thomas Distributing does not sell it it is not worth getting. Check out some of the combo packages they have. I like that they provide complete descriptions of every chargers capabilities so you can make an informed decision of what features you want, must have and can live without. Their prices are as good as you will find and their shipping is very fast.

Just joined the forums, just ordered a LB from vapenow. VERY STOKED! :D Also have a few questions, does anybody have any experience with vaping spice blends (such as K2) using the LB? I'll be doing so when I get my unit but I was just wondering if anyone else has done so? I'll post my own (future) experiences later if anyone's interested toooo.
Thats my area of specialty since I have not/will not be able to consume cannabis for about 4 more months. I haven't used bud in 2 months.. GASP. :| I use the JWH-018 compounds which are added to various herbal blends. These blends do in fact work very well with the launchbox but the technique does vary a little bit from vaping actual cannabis.

With my launchbox at least, I have to suck in quite rapidly with cannabis because the box runs pretty warm and I want to avoid burning or releasing much smell. With the jwh stuff (spice, k2, darwin, etc), you're defiantly going to want to suck slower as to get the herb vaping at higher temperatures. The blends at the higher temperature will extract the compound effectively and deliver a nice punch in the face high. :ko:

Play around with it for a bit, you'll get the jist of it. Any additional questions, feel free to shoot a question directed to me or even check out the Darwins Head Stash thread in general vape discussion.
I GOT MY LB!! A few little problems though, but first thanks Sti for the tips, sucks about not being able to smoke the real deal huh.. Same situation here..

So I got my launch box, but it seems to have a little rip at the edge of the screen, on the left side. It still works but sometimes little bits of my plant go into the lower chamber and it's a bit irritating. A bit sad that I didn't get it in perfect condition, maybe it happened during shipping? In any case, it works! I was surprised, being a vapeirgin prior to today, at the flavor. It's really quite nice :) Will return with more thoughts after some more use!

Yeah it sucks a great deal without the real stuff.. But I have no choice.:/

Anyway, if the issue with the box is seriously bothering you, contact magic-flight and I'm sure they would be more then happy to replace the unit with a new one. Their warantee is amazing. Just email them.

Let me know how your experiences with the JWH compounds are. I don know too many people using the stuff so it's great to hear input.

How about the Ansmann 2500 mah LSD batteries? These, if the company/product is as advertised, could be a good option- they are LSD with a high enough capacity rating. Dunno what the quality of the batts are when compared to the maha or sanyo stuff. I have them and use them regularly, seem to be fine. They peel real easy too, which might be a decision making factor ;)

You've bought this particular brand before, and you know they peel easy? That is a big plus for me because I have severe RA in my hands, which makes doing even simple things difficult. I'm not even sure I could peel a battery, especially if it were being stubborn. (not wanting to come off)

I want to order 4 more batteries tomorrow, unless someone says these aren't good. I not only need them to be peel easy, but also be good quality. :)
FedEx just showed up with my batteries, and I am very pleased. They were very easy to peel, which was good for me. They also came pre-charged, and the package says they have a year standby time. I also read on the package that they will not get a memory. I tried one out in my LB, and it worked great.

Vicki,
Anybody ever leave their LB in a hot car during the day (while at work)?
When I get mine, I definitely want to take it on the road, but it will not be a great idea to carry it in with me.

So ... is heat a problem? I imagine the batteries would not like it so I guess I would just pocket them.

I would think that as long as the batteries are not in direct sunlight, there shouldn't be much of a problem. Put them in the center console or something. As for the box itself, I really don't think you can damage the thing with heat from the inside of a car.. I mean it is a vape so it's made to withstand heat.

leaving batteries in the sunlight can cause the chemical reaction to speed up inside the batteries. Providing a bit more juice, but batteries will also lose their power quicker when used.

Question regarding how fast to draw.

Am I aiming to completely fill my lungs in the 15 second draw duration?
