Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Caligula

Maximus
So I find myself the owner of a custom @Ed's TnT wood stem by chance yesterday. Long story short, I had ordered a Solo stem... Ed thought I wanted a Nano stem (who can blame him given how I am with my Nano?)... and now I have a Nano stem with a Solo stem on the way!

Now, I am not telling you this to knock Ed in any way. Absolutely not! Ed had given me top notch customer service and is on top of making things right... not that things were wrong as you will see. In any case, you may know that I am a fiend when it comes to vaping with my nano through glass. I really only busted out the glass stems for my Nano when I didn't have a WT for a time, and I think once when I first got it. 99% of the time I use my Nano, its with a WT and if Im "going dry" its with my Solo on the go.

And that brings us full circle, and now you see why I was looking at a Solo stem and not a nano stem. Ah, but this was a blessing in disguise! Having spend the better part of last night getting to know the stem (relearning how to pack/draw vs using a gong/WT) I think I have a better idea of what this thing is about!

I'm not saying that Im going to be giving up vaping through water any time soon, but the mere convenience of being able to load a dry stem at my computer station has something to be said about it. Couple that with the pure elegance that this stem brings to the table and the new subtle flavors which become involved, and you have an attractive alternative for when you dont want/need the mind crushing power of full on bong rips, or the soothing kiss of water conditioned vapor. Really the only bad thing I have to say about the whole experience is that the wood tends to wick moisture from my lips, making them feel dry over long sessions. Im sure theres a workaround for that somewhere...

So in conclusion, while Im not a convert, I think I will be doing a lot more dry path vaping with my Nano now that I have one of Ed's stems.

But enough of that. Lets some pics of my new wood!

The species is Hawaiian Koa and the inlay is turquoise. Obviously pics don't do it justice.

PS:

Now I just need to get some of Ed's Butter. Only complaint I have is that my lips get dry after using this stem for a while. The wood wicks the moisture from them. Im hoping the butter will help this?

Hello and good morning everyone, I hope all is well out there and you will forgive me for my absence. I gave it hell in the shop the end of last week like normal and took the weekend to spend with the wife. It was our 12th wedding anniversary and we both felt like we were kinda being neglected so we spent a couple of days with each other trying not to do anything other than be with each other. Its tough keeping the love alive after all this time and being as how much our lives have changed since we first met. We have 3 tough boys 12, 10, and 5. She has just finished her first year as a first grade teacher. We are always on the go, there is always something that needs to be done and the kids always want or need something. My biz has become more than just a hobby and is constantly growing which keeps me really really busy even if its in the backyard I am still not here so to speak. Yeah I am there if you need me but when a little while turns into a couple hours and then sometimes all nighters then kinda seem to never end, I guess I have been neglecting my wife and my boys. I do spend as much time as I can with them but just havent been enough. I am gonna have to make more time for them and try to budget my time better for work. Instead of a 1-2 weeks for custom orders it may go to 2-3 weeks. I will continue to fill wholesale orders and try to stock my website as often as possible and take custom orders, I just hope you all will hang in there with me and allow me a little extra time to get ya done. I am still mostly a one man operation. I do have a little help here and there but when it comes to turning I am the guy. I know better days are ahead and when I reach em soon I hope to be able to let you all in on how it all came about! Pls bear with me, I know you will and you all are so understanding and helpful thank you for making the magic happen at Ed's TnT!

@Seren Wow those are some sweet pics! I had forgotten how beautiful that piece you have was. The grain pattern in that piece is spectacular! Really glad you listened to @stickstones the SS bushing require you to bump the temp up a notch or so to get the clouds from the vapor. I hope you enjoy that piece for a long time to come!

@Vicki LOL EWAS!!! As far as Ed's Wood goes, hell everyone needs a little! I have been fortunate enough where I have gotten wood in every state in the US and many many countries all over the world! Got wood? If you dont, you sure need some! I hope you are enjoying that 2" Solo wong, its a nice piece and really adds to your collection which is growing weekly! Your order shipped this morning! Thanks for posting the pics.

@FlyingLow Same for you bro, your order shipped this morning as well, keep and eye out you should see it middle of the week at the earliest!

@Snappo Thanks for stopping by and the your input, thanks for your help!

@Reflections Hmmm thats a thought, Clip/Ring removal tool/stir/poker on one side and other end a Tamping Rod maybe one day it could be more than just that! Will give it some thought and see if time will permit me to do something. Thanks for the idea!

@Deja Vu Thats cool take your time my man, I am trying to find some and maybe when your ready I will have found some. I appreciate you letting me know the delay, get your gear together and we will go from there. Have been giving your piece some thought and doing a little research when I am able. I look forward to doing something different.

@namasteIII Holla at me at ed@edstnt.com and lets talk about what you would like done. I would be more than happy to do something for you and thank you in advance for the opportunity to do some work for you!

@VaporsVaporizer Thanks for the post bro! I appreciate you stepping in where you were able!

@Caligula AM really happy to hear you like the Nano stem and appreciate the kind words. The pics are really nice and appreciate your cooperation through all the delays and confusion on my part. I have shipped your Koa Solo stem this morning with some BAB as well. You may be interested in a more dense wood species, something like Blackwood or Cocobolo, being so dense they tend not to absorb moisture and would be easier on the lips. Try the butter and let me know what works for you.

@Enchantre Hmmm Caligula's stem must look a little familiar to you, if I remember correctly you got the first one in that species and style. Coconut oil is a great alternative.

@GSH I believe I shipped your straight cocobolo Nano stem this morning, gonna try and get your nano wong made this week. I look forward to your thoughts of my work.

Again pls forgive me for my delay in getting back to everyone here and pls understand my situation. I am truly blessed to be a part of FC and to be able to offer my handy work to you all, I only want to continue to do so!

Happy Anniversary Ed, great that you see the situation and do something about it, nice priorites :)

Don't worry about my custom order and take all the time you need, I told you I'll bring patience :spliff:
I rather read about all turning well than that my stuff was turned :dog:

Happy anniversary bro! My Ed's stem is about to arrive, expecting it today or tomorrow! Will post my review as soon as I've had a chance to play with it :D

Edit: boy am I excited to not have to be so careful with my Solo now lol, it seems so silly for the main unit of the thing to be so sturdy, but the stem so fragile!

Ok. My shorty stem/wong is here. First of all, apologies for the double post. Hopefully a mod can merge these for me.

Now, to the review:

First of all, this stem looks fantastic, smooth, dark wood, from afar it does not clearly look like wood. This is the reason I chose this particular stem - the plain black stem matches the Solo, whereas a beautiful ornate wooden piece may draw attention lol.

The screens are the perfect size of mesh, nothing gets through them. The metal part of the stem is very sturdy, as is the wooden part, it feels like it could go through the wars and still work perfectly.

I had a go at the shorty stem dry on 3 and then 4, tasty hits! I did notice that the wood imparts an earthy taste to the vapour. However, I find it a welcome addition, especially in making this dank THC Bomb taste smoother and almost chocolatey!

Then, I used the stem for its other purpose. I connected it to my Luke Wilson 15 arm tree bubbler with a 14mm reducer and jacked the solo up to 7. Milked up my bubbler in a huge way. This is similar to the hits I get from my E-Nano! Again, the wood imparts a definite taste to the hits, but again, very pleasant! After about 8 or so complete milkings of my bubbler, I checked the AVB, which was a lovely mid brown. Not at all charred!

I love the size of the shorty stem, it makes so much more sense and although not a lot smaller than the standard, is considerably more discreet. The dark colour and not being glass adds to this discretion. Loading the stem was easy, I just scooped the herb out of my container like I would with my E-nano GonG.

All in all, Ed's Shorty stem is the reason I use my Solo frequently now. Before, it languished because my glass stem fits way too loosely and I don't trust myself using it without breaking. Now, the Solo is as versatile as I first imagined it to be.

The quality is great, as was the service, the pricing is very reasonable and the delivery was super fast.

Cheers Ed! I owe you a few dabs/bowls should our paths ever cross!

Good morning, thanks for stopping by you all with all the posts of kind words, congrats and understanding! Its gonna be a great day, I hope you all feel it! You wouldnt think that by looking outside for sure, its raining cats and dogs here. All is good, all is good!

@herbivore21 Really glad that piece got there, that was super quick! Also glad to hear how much you are enjoying it, you will find it to come in handy alot of ways. The wood taste will subside the more you use it, the inside will be coated and sealed with resin. I wish you many good times bro!
