The Lotus Vaporizer

I just discovered the Lotus with kief is a pleasure beyond belief. I can't think of a vaporizer that could do it any better.
Just had a pinch of kief with water assist - pic below. Disc at that level is a bit of an eye strain, and lower is cross-eyed. I need to get an 19MM TO > 14MM GOG GROUND JOINT LAB GLASS REDUCER *TURNS 19MM TO A 14MM OPENING. But, overall performance is aces!

Just a few local head shops in the area. Believe it or not regardless of Wisconsin being a non med state we do have very good head shops.

Ah, OK. That won't do me any good. Thanks anyway.

Does anyone else have a J-hook available at an online store that they they recommend over the one sold by Lotus or is it the best one for this vape?

Cheers

We were talking a little earlier in the thread about options with the Lotus and hydrotubes. Thought I would throw this up. I had a couple of the adapters and plugs already so I came up with this option and threw up the links to the cheapest adapters I found online...

One Claisen Adapter................................ $8.99 (shipped, thanks @alltoreup) - LINK
One 18m-14f adapter.............................. $8.99 (shipped) - LINK
One 18m-14m adaptor............................. $9.43 (shipped) - LINK
One Deadfoot Designs 18mm Slide Display... $8.00 (shipped) - LINK (scroll down, thanks @Tstat )
One 1/2" large end silicone plug................. $3.28 (+shipping for 10) - LINK (part # 9277K52)

EQUALS =

As you can see in the video I am using the longer end of the Claisen adapter for the HT. This makes the stand a little less stable (it's still pretty stable though) than if using it like this...

But I like the extra distance from the lighter. Although if I tip the lighter at a small angle while using like this I have no problem with it. Plus I like to hold the stand while using and don't feel like it will tip at all either way.

You can also fill up the Claisen with water and get a lot of extra diffusion along with quite a bit more chug. Chemistry is fun :science:

So I am thinking of selling my PNP (great unit, I'm just impatient with warm up time) and getting one of these.

I had a few questions: Does The Lotus ever combust herb? Is this possible with the unit and if so, how possible? Also, are there any FC discounts?

I will mostly want to use this with my Luke Wilson 15 Tree arm through a 18mm-14mm reducer adapter and the water pipe adapter for the Lotus. Will this provide big milky hits? I understand it might not be my E-Nano, I just prefer to get my vaping out of the way quickly, rather than sipping on a bowl for ages!

Cheers everyone :)

I think it will do you good ! For sure you won't have the ease of use like a logvape but you will get pleasure to play around and to have the control in your hands !
Lotus can technically get to combustion, but I find it really hard and never combusted : always got a really dark brown abv at max. No FC discounts.
It can provide big milky hits with just a bit of practice. It is all instantaneous with the lighter so you'll see or feel directly if you get too close on the border line between milky vs combustion. Just follow instructions and play around from there to your like.
Start hitting the plate for 2 seconds then start to draw, don't get the red spot too large red or bright : generally when i see it becoming slightly red i move the flame up a bit or inclined on the side. I'm also cautious with the heat transferring to the wood as an indication to avoid over heating (and possibly combustion occurring). Hope it helps !

This is sounding good so far, so can I get major milkage? I like to do large one hit rips on my water piece and would love it this could do that, as well as more moderately paced pipe-like toking?

Also, claisen adapter people: What does the 19/26 19/22 nomenclature mean? I am guessing the 19 refers to the diameter of the joins? Is this an inner/outer diameter measurement of the joins? Am I on the right track?

yes, you can seriously milk up a piece with this vape, watch youtube vids. Just have to watch how heavy you hit it with the torch, so you don't combust. You can overdo it. In fact most people combust once or twice in the learning stages...it's not that big of a deal, just have to figure out how far the line is, and don't cross it. I find this to be the quickest vape I have for instant heavy hits, aside from my plug in units.

On the claisen joints, the 19 refers to the diameter, and the other number refers to how deep the joint is, from what I understand. 19/22 is a standard size and works with things labeled 18mm...

I'm really looking forward to getting this vape, but I'm getting worried that it got mailed to the wrong address or something,it's been about 2.5 weeks and it's still not here......
But I'm in canada so customs may be holding it up

Edit-I'm really impatient so there might not even be a problem

My order from lotuavaporiser.com arrived in the UK within around 10 days from dispatch (really fast!). Have you received confirmation that it has shipped?

So i've been experimenting a little bit and I've had amazing results with using small, unground nugs (or smaller pieces of larger nugs) with the bowl filled around 3/4 full. When the outsides are nicely browned I use the stir stick to break them open and a get one or two more decent hits. I think it might be slightly more economical (maybe, maybe not), but the taste seems fresher and more robust throughout this way. Either way, my love for the lotus is growing daily.

Less surface area = less material being exposed to heat at the same time compared to a fine grind.

I agree with you re: taste being more robust. Seems like when I vape whole flower with my Solo the taste profile is a bit different than the same amount ground up. Might also be a bit more economical since you load small pieces of flower which would take up more space than ground flower.

got confirmation that it shipped but no tracking number

Did you get a customs declaration number?

That should track up to the US border.

From my experience as a UPS Store clerk, my manager always told me to tell customers that USPS international to Canada will always take 3-6 weeks, regardless that USPS says 2-4 weeks. He was pretty accurate.

Just wanted to check in and say that I got my Lotus yesterday and I really like it. Quick shipping from MT, my pink lighter works great.

I haven't combusted yet, but been getting thick milky rips through my mini-tube. Also haven't hit the aluminum stem, but its definitely quality.

Can the bowl be removed from the stem?
Mine seems pretty locked on there (even with screw removed).

Looks like you can't remove the bowl from the stem, however, the WPA bowl is a standalone bowl with a short 14mm connection which should be able to be worked into whatever apparatus you wanted (unless for some reason you wanted a stem without the bowl on it!?).

Thanks for the confirmation.
I actually did think it would be nice to be able to remove the bowl from the stem for on main reason:

Once cleaned it would simply be much less conspicuous to transport with it unassembled while traveling. I would pack the stem in laptop bag, the top in my bag, and lighter in pocket. However as a one piece unit, I think it is more obvious that it is a pipe; especially when taking a closer look and noticing the screen.

I love it more everyday. :)

I'll try again today however you may love it I find my other vaporizers much less work.
Maybe I just need more practice?

I use it once a week.

The JHOOK (SHERLOCK) works.
I couldn't make the D020 work however this ASH CATCHER set up I made work.
The flavor was good.
Ah, OK. That won't do me any good. Thanks anyway.

This is my best set up!
I think it's because of the visual more than anything else?

This is the one I want to buy.
These other ones were $10 however the quality is substandard.
The one from aqua labs is better quality.
I'll break what I have soon!

$100 torch is not worth it. in my opinion. Ive been using a dxing dual flame and it works really good, quicker hits. however i use the honest a bit more still. the dual flame scares me sometimes.
