Muad-Dib Concentrate Box

Well, damn. I was all set to buy a recycler, but now I'm highly intrigued by this. Not only is it probably the coolest-looking device I've seen, but it's apparently efficient and a highly portable dabbing system?

I am SO close to pulling the trigger. I dab at least 50% of the time, and right now I'm almost exclusively using a titanium nail on my Sheldon Black concentrator. I love the combination, but I don't really travel with that piece of glass (my priciest ATM), so it's a stationary setup. My current portable options for concentrates are the O-PHOS (great for what it is, but I'm not inclined to dump a half gram into a cart these days) and the BHOLT (hits awesome, but pretty sticky to be truly portable). I barely use those, to be honest. The MD looks like something that could become a well-loved part of my arsenal.

GAH. Recycler or MD? MD or recycler?

I hate to say it, but that recycler may need to wait...

I'm really intrigued by this. Up until now I've used the Dabbler for concentrates, pairing it with a Pinnacle hydrotube, but it still runs pretty harsh to my tastes (in all other respects it is rock solid, though). While I'd still use the Dabbler for out and about medicating (minus the hydrotube, obviously), I'd love to have something like this to use at home, which is where I do most of my medicating anyway.

Two questions:

1. Is this only for sale through the Magic Flight website, or are there other places I could get it?

2. If I want to use it with my Pinnacle, should I get the adapter that was linked in the thread previously, or should I get this water pipe whip I see on the Magic Flight website?

Thanks!

Thanks! I don't see a way to join the club without having bought a previous Magic Flight, so I bit the bullet and purchased it at the public price. Should be here in a couple of days. I opted to hold off on the water whip until I had a chance to see how the MD is on its own.

Do you use your MD with the lid open or shut?

Started using mine open and enjoy it. It seems smoother from more air, no science here just a guess. The visual feedback of material being vaped is much more clear this way too.

Now that I am running with the lid open I am also using the PA, rather than the battery, and this is my favorite set-up thus far. As @sundaddy has said it is like a cheap e-nail and it works awesome!

Very satisfied with the Maud-Dib. Thanks Magic-Flight for another great product!
Since you mentioned it, I do the, lid open too…a lot cooler!

VapeWorld was running a 20% off coupon, so I got the water whip for the MD and an adapter for $34 and change. I ordered one of the D020 bubblers from dhgate (hence the adapter). Looking forward to trying it all out. Now if Magic Flight would hurry up and ship the box already! :D

The Maud-Dib is so freakin' awesome I think it is a best kept secret. I am a little shocked more people are not raving about the MD yet? I love it! I think it is a better invention than it's big brother the MFLB imho. Yes, it is that good. Makes me laugh — literally!

Mine is due to be delivered on Tuesday! It was my Valentine's Day gift from my wife. :) She's a keeper.

I ordered mine on the 15th through the mf club store. What a great deal. Cannot wait! At least I have time to make some qwiso

Mine arrived a little while ago. It's much smaller than I expected, but I guess since all you need is a pin-head's worth of concentrate, that's not surprising.

I won't be able to try it until I get home from work, but I've got some blue dream butter that I think will be the perfect thing to inaugurate it with.

I got the beta version , last summer?, with kava and enjoyed both.
I found the taste pleasant and the head interesting.
Concentrates back then were very rare in my circle so the kava was all I had. The kava did ease my wife's migraines who is not a cannabis user.
After the kava ran out , I finally got some good concentrate and the shit was on .

Well that was easy. Took a few crumbs of the blue dream and dropped them onto the screen. Hooked up the whip, plugged in the battery, and the concentrate melted onto the screen immediately. I didn't see it produce any vapor, but I was already inhaling, and there was a definite vapor cloud when I exhaled. There was the tiniest whisp of vapor when I lit it up a second time to burn off any remainders, and I didn't see any residue.

This was approximately 10,000 times smoother than using my Dabbler. I started to feel it just a little towards the end of holding the vapor in, but no coughing. In fact, it was smooth enough that for a few seconds I thought it hadn't worked. Once I get my bubbler in this thing will be smooth as silk.

Took a few minutes, but I'm now feeling the high as well. Since this is my first time using this box, I won't set up a second hit. I'll see how far this takes me tonight to calibrate how much I want to use in the future. But so far I am very impressed.

After last night I can say that I will not need to set up a second hit for any given session. That tiny amount of wax was as effective as smoking a fully packed stem in my Solo. Incredible. I could vape three times a day and still have my concentrates last for months.

Until you build up a tolerance. ;)

Good point. But I don't actually vape three times a day. I do it a few times a week, and if I do it more than once in a day it's a very special occasion.

That's what I do as well. Nothing at all during the day (I work nights), and when I get home I'll do a session before bed.

Question for others: how much pressure do you have to apply to the battery to get the unit heating? My MFLB requires little to no pressure at all once the battery engaged. With my Maud-Dib, I have to push HARD on the battery throughout the draw to keep it engaged. Just wondering if that's normal or not...

Really liking the look of this so far, I love Magic flight as a company and the box looks really cool, cant say im a fan of the glass lid though as it looks easier to break maybe they will make a few changes when it comes off beta

@Meghan it might have to do with the little rubber stopper thingy. In my newer MF box the battery was really tough to push in, I took the black pushback ring out out with a pair of tweezers and put it back in and it was much better, I think it was just unsettled in there or something.

Last night I used too much wax. Got a huge cloud of vapor that escaped from under the lid, and it was really harsh on my throat. I thought the ball was small enough, but I miscalculated. It seems that less most definitely is more with this thing.

I got a MFLB about 3 weeks ago and was so impressed I started looking at the MD. This is my first dab rig. It was ordered on Saturday the 15th late at night and it arrived today, Thursday the 20th.

I am thoroughly shocked at the MD's ability to medicate so quickly (1 draw 5 seconds) and efficiently (literally 1/4 grain of rice size drop).

I got so excited about this little thing I pulled it out 3 times in the last hour and am on quite the magic flight, holy wow. (1 session would have been sufficient, 2 plenty, and 3 was definitely not needed)

If anyone is considering this I highly recommend it!

So how the hell are we supposed to clean this thing anyway? I got so much gunk in there I'm running out of somewhere to put material!
