I can see why you didn't like that piece either.
It's too big and the Solo would sit on an angle.

You're still hunching over for 10-15+ seconds every time you wanna take a hit though. Plus you're looking at the floor for the whole time instead of the computer screen or whatever you're working on at the time. It's also annoying that you MUST to keep the PNWT straight up and down the whole time. You can't tilt it like you can tilt a tube or bubbler. Not only will it fire improperly but water can leak down into the joint.
Actually, I can tilt the PNWT a little bit and get no leak. I do hear what you're saying though about facing down, but it's not really a problem for me as it's only for a short 5-10 seconds. Love my bent neck Dave Goldstein Micro Fritted Disk bubbler though. So nice and comfortable. I love to change it up between my glass pieces, chillium, adapters, and stems...depending on mood and situation. Solo rocks! See ataxian's varietal set-up for some real excitement!

You use a PNWT instead of a DG? :hmm: :mental:

Haha JK. How does the DG pair with a Solo? I've never hit a frit before. Is the DG your oil rig?

Like I said, I love changing it up between glass pieces. Depends on my mood, situation, and setting. My DG is out-of-this-world and definitely has it's time and place in mine! Of all the glass I've used, the DG is by far my fave. Oil, herb, wax, whatever, it's the shit!!! It pairs with my Solo like Romeo & Juliette! Look at the 2nd pic in my signature. Flip the Solo on it's head and mount the DG w/GonG and go to town!!!

For those that have both bongs and the f-Bomb/PNWT, what's the difference in the hits you get, and do you find yourself reaching for the bong or the WT when you get that extra little bit with the Solo?
The hits I get from either of my bubs produce MUCH bigger clouds. I can also crank the heat up to 6 or even 7 and it doesn't taste that bad, but I still always use it on 5. I always used the PNWT on level 5 too which is why it's so easy for me to compare hits between pieces. Not only are the clouds bigger with bubs, but the hits are much smoother as well (which is probably why I can go up to 6 and 7). You'd think that a lot of flavor would be lost but I'm tellin ya it's not. A small bub is a match made in heaven for the Solo.

I also like inverting the Solo much more too. That way you can use any concentrate you want without the fear of it dripping down onto the SS bowl.

and do you find yourself reaching for the bong or the WT when you get that extra little bit with the Solo?
You couldn't pay me to reach for the PNWT.
I wouldn't do it. :nope:

I'm guessing bubblers have less restriction than a bong? My bong has one honeycomb perc, the other has a shower head downstem and one normal perc. Both are pretty restrictive, while the hits on the videos look so easy flowing. What gives?

Interesting timing of this discussion, I just received my PNWT this past week and already can see both sides of this. Won't use it all the time. Just another weapon in the arsenal. Have a piece of silicon tubing on the end of a stem until the PVGong gets here next wk. Mounting it upside-down on the bong really works good. Had to find something to put the bong in so that down stem was vert. and snout is 45*. Plastic flower pot worked perfect.

As to the above question regarding a lot of resistance in a bong, IMO the two things that come to mind are you may be packing too tight. The Solo is convection as well as conduction and likes the air to come through it. Looser packing gives the best hits. Water level may be too high. Hit long and slow, barely making it bubble. You'll find your sweet spot.

Haha alright, Hoof Hearted and RD, you two have convinced me not to spend what is still a decent amount of money for me on either the PNWT or the f-bomb and save up for a nice bong. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of grabbing this, y'all think this is a good deal? http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/burner-glassworks-reverse-shower-head-direct-inject-tube.11869/
With the glass you refer to you will have the same issue hoof objects to, which is facing the floor when you hit. Get a shorter piece with a bent neck. It will be MUCH MORE PRACTICAL and COMFORTABLE!

I'm so tempted to replace the batteries in the Solo with some of the new fancy high capacity 30A 18650s just to see how nice it runs... might be like hitting a Solo off the wall PA!

Someone sell me their old ceramic model Solo!!!

I am now on a quest to find a stopper and whip for the top of the PNWT.

Where was this discussion a week ago??

You want to put a hydratube on a vape and hit it thru the hydratube with a silicon whip? :hmm::hmm:

Whatevr floats your boat though!! :buzz::buzz:

No but I was almost able get an old EQ F/F adapter with elbow to work.
Now the correct plug with a bent Solo stem would work.

Edit: Snappo beat me to it.

Might I suggest a change in technique? I am hitting the PNWT older brother (bigger w/ chandelier perc) and I am able to look straight ahead. All you do is use the top part of you lips to cover or go inside the opening. Its not the best way for 100% of the time but works when you need to look straight ahead or to switch things up.

I'd save my money. Even if you can find them with tabs on them (I was unable) or get someone to weld them on for you (I only tried a couple of places, seems a 'lost art' as they now come from China with tabs....or not) so it's safe to build a pack that's not how the closed loop system Solo uses works.

The heater is turned on full blast (only about 2.5 Amps maximum, 2.0 average.....the 30 Amp potential is wasted) and left to run until it gets to the set temperature when it's shut down (as seen on the "Heat" LED).

The slightly higher power available by such a change only means it will 'make temperature' a few seconds faster on the first cycle and that the 'duty cycle' (ratio of on to off times) will change a little. But the working temperature in the load will not change at all. Not one bit.

And it will stress the heater all the harder for no useful gain.

Unless you use a stop watch you'll never be able to detect any change and there will be no useful improvement. Period (ever hear that before?). Same as putting a more powerful heater in your house doesn't change how hot the thermostat gets the living room. All it will do is make 'a cold house warm up faster'. My quick calculation just said you can save as much as 12 seconds of the two minutes initial warm up time, and the duty cycle ratio will shift a bit under half a second per cycle. Trivial IMO.

I think you're better advised looking for batteries more suited for the actual task they need to do, not run some other (open loop) vape. They make a big difference is Cera, Persei and similar vapes but not here. Arizer can also make this change (and they can buy the gear to weld the tabs so they can use any battery they want), the fact they don't (and use the model they selected) is a clue here.......I think they've done their homework and know what they're doing.

I'd same my money and buy some top shelf bud to feed the Solo.

Hello everyone, I have a quick question I'm hoping some of you guys would be able to answer.
I'm a happy owner of a Solo with model number m1d2 which I have been using for over a year now with no problems.

My question relates to the temperature scales.

On the vaporpedia page it states that the m105 update accidentally lowered the temperature scale but this was restored in the m106 run.
However in CentiZen's high performace battery thread he notices that his m14a runs cooler than his m102 (thus increasing battery life).
This indicates to me that the original temperature was not restored in the m106 run or has since been lowered again?
Does any one have any more info on this or has measured their newer Solo model?
I'm trying to figure out where my m1d2 fits in the temperature ranges (as shown by the table on vaporpedia the claimed temparatures by arizer seem to be quite a bit different from real world measurements and I currently have no way of measuring the temps my self)

Thank you

UP WITH HOPE!

DOWN WITH DOPE THE PNWT!
I haven't had any luck with the PNWT?

LEVEL 4 not enough?
I use my 18mm GonG and a female 18mm x Male 14mm adapter.

Looks like I will have to get a 14mm GonG?

PHVES or STOCK?

My BLACK BUBBLER is not pretty like a expensive high end glass collectors piece however for a cheap piece of glass it works so well.

I'm sure "OF" has a method to use this thing?

So far I'm not crazy about this piece!

I don't give up so I will make it work some how?
If anyone knows the best way for this to work well please post and recommend a solution?

I just got my solo about a month ago now. I got it from planet vape with the extra power adapter that essentially turns it into a plus-in vape, model M1B1. The new M1C1 can be used while charging. This happens every time I buy something. The new model comes out a week later.

Try spending $$$ on the latest software when two weeks later a new version is released.

The older SOLO's are different:
My older SOLO M107 will most likely out live me!

New is not always better. You own a proven version of an excellent vape, you should get first class sercice from it, congratulations.

The very feature you hail changes the nature of the beast and how owners manage their batteries. My bet is owners of two YO copies of the new version will be looking at new batteries more than you will in two years. Normal routine will force batteries to the top of the charge for most of their lifetimes, a known killer.

Put another way, they went a long way out of their way to make the original PA scheme, this 'charge while using' is much easier/cheaper to do......you have to ask why. Why they changed is clear, it's what customers 'demanded'. But I'm not sure the customer is always right in these sorts of cases........he just wants.

I think we all know two YO laptops and cellphones that now must be plugged in if you want more than modest use? Two and 3 year old Solos seems to soldier on.

Time will tell, but IMO you've for a first rate vape there and 'no worries'. The value of the new version is not known yet.

I totally agree...the latest model isn't always the best choice (at least it isn't for me). My Solo purchase dates back to about May of this year - M1A4. I can't imagine it functioning any better, and if I were to order a back-up I would seek the same M1A4 (EZVAPE has them still, I think). As far as the new PA/Charger configuration goes, I don't need it - perfectly happy with my OEM & Tim's Solo-mio AIO PA/Charger system. When my battery eventually dies, I will get a replacement Hi-Capacity from Centizen (I trust this won't be a contradiction to my conviction that newer isn't always better).
