Ok, a few things I've noticed:

After the 2nd bowl, he's still holding the GH near the heating chamber (or at least where I would think it is), so I'm guessing that spiffy aerospace insulation is working.

Vapor doesn't seem to be extremely hot to the user for such a small vapor path.

AVB doesn't look bad, though I wished they got the good camera up on that instead of phone quality cam.

Yeah, that was a solid session. We have to take into account how potent the flowers were as well... more trichs = more vapor. AVB was pretty good, could have gone longer IMO, but thats personal preference.

Ehh maybe, but to me all that says is that he could have afforded to have taken a few more hits off of it. I know that there will be doubters no matter what, but this video really answered whatever questions that I had left.

Interesting first post without even an intro. Also interesting that you left out of my quote, "While nowhere near the vapor production of a good desktop vape, it wasn't bad.".

I'm just glad to see that it works.

Am I supposed to give an intro? I've been lurking these forums for a while but I've mainly been paying attention to the actual vaporizer threads and haven't really looked through any of the personal/more casual parts of the forums.

Seems like a pretty solid little vape if it works the way demonstrated in the video consistently ...

And the background music is excellent

From the youtube page:

"A test of the Grasshopper Vaporizer Prototype - Gen 1...
Gen 2 Prototype videos to come."

So this video isn't even of the latest model, it gets better!

Where did that video come from? Doesn't appear to be on the indiegogo campaign nor the official website. For a purely convection vape, that first hit he took looked massive. The first couple of hits are usually all flavour with very small clouds due to the nature of the heating methods, yet that first hit even though it was only a relatively short inhale was much bigger than I'd get out of the first hit of my SSV.

Maybe I just have low tolerance, but I'd be pretty baked after all that vaping. I don't usually have more than 4 or 5 hits at a time as that's enough to make me sufficiently medicated for the next hour or so, so I don't know how a first time vaper is still going after 3 bowls. If we get more videos before the end of the campaign, then I might reconsider my stance and commit to this.

IDK, but it seems like the norm for these forums to post an "intro," might be an unspoken rule for newbies on forums though.

I have seen you post over on r/vaporents, so I'm sure you're an actual user and not a shill.

I don't agree that "The first couple of hits are usually all flavour with very small clouds due to the nature of the heating methods....."

This hasn't been my experience at all. The first hit and the second hit from my LSV are HUGE. While they do contain more flavor than subsequent hits, the vapor production doesn't suffer one bit. The vapor production in the first hit can be soooo big that I have to modulate my intake or my lungs would explode..........lol, and I run 20 miles a week.

The designers should be commended for reacting to the demand for a video, but they need to sharpen their skills a bit. Don't use a phone, for starters. The output from that session would have looked more impressive with a better camera angle and lighting. I would have liked to see what a succession of micro-hits would have produced, because I don't think they got the maximum out of that session. Having said that, I don't think those who seek thick clouds will see the GH as any better at that than several other portables. It will have to rely on other features to rise above the crowd.

I presume this will at least shut up the doubters who speculated that they were faking the hits in the previous videos.

Edited because I was confused about which thread I was in. D'oh!

Actually, I thought the video demonstrated a highly functional device and very adequate vapor production. Take note, he was only vaping at 360F which is quite low on the temperature spectrum. Also, he was hitting it constantly with very little downtime. That shows me that the heater is in fact pretty fucking powerful. I bet if you cranked that thing up to 400F it would produce some serious clouds. I'd like to see a video with Grasshopper set at the 400F range. I typically vape at 390 to 410... It would be interesting to see how it performs at those levels. Overall, the vapor produced at 360F is more than adequate IMO...

TOTALLY agree. I had no idea that he was at 360.

I didn't think they could pull it off (mainly because of pricing), but after the latest video they have my full attention. At first I was concerned about there being enough heat but now I am worried about there being enough insulation and battery power to keep it going at higher temps. Regardless, it looks very impressive for a prototype and I can see it filling a nice niche for a helluva lot of folks if it works out.

Plot was meandering, no dialog at all, static camera, music got boring after the first few minutes. Thumbs down.

Actually- I thought the first couple clouds were pretty impressive, considering what they are being produced by. Second load, the hits seemed a lot whispier- was it not heated up enough or something?

Has a 14mm water piece adapter been considered? A low-pro 14-18 reducer is less cumbersome than a 14-18 expander.

The last video clears things up a bit, but you could get the same results with a Thermovape EVO, considering so few hits were taken during the length of the video. My problem with the EVO is that one set of batteries just doesn't last long enough for more than one session for one person, so I only really use it with the power adapter.

Will there be a video that demonstrates battery life? Cause that seems to be the biggest problem I've found with convection flower portables.

I think the only way to really show off the battery life is to have 3rd party reviews, or a live stream of one person going at the GH for about 3 hours straight, lol.

I'm sure people would think a video about battery life would be bullshit. It has to be from a 3rd party user who has operated it in varying settings, or a live stream (video of livestream).

I think these guys are knees deep in trouble if you ask me, from what I've seen in the videos they made
a fine looking and more than decent working penvape for flowers, even if half of their claims would be true, this is still a world's first.
Look at the indiegogo campaign it's past 250K, when the thread just started they said they needed 1000 backers so they could fund for those first 1000, now they already have to make 2000, they can make whatever video they want to keep the wolves from attacking, this februari I hope they are ready for a lot of crap if those 2000 pens aren't ready, I saw some nasty stuff over at thermovape, oh yes, and at ascent's place it wasn't any better, altough we users of MJ like to call ourselves peacefull etc, we can get pretty angery if we don't have our toys at the exact day that was promised. Good thing I have a few other toys to keep me company untill this one arrives :smug:
