The 5 ohms were an instant cloud, but I burnt out 2 in the first night of use. I can get the same hit from the 2ohm, it just takes about 5-10 seconds longer. I have ran over a gram through each 2 ohm KISS with no issues yet and really dont expect many either

I did not have any problems until I broke the center pin but thats my own fault!

2 ohm versions are super reliable for what i put them through and withstood tons of abuse from ppl who had no idea what they were doing with it!

I will baby the one 5 ohm I got. That is for emergency clouds :)

nice!!! thanks sooo stoked might have an iris soon, then the core but an iris so sick no vv lcd top I can find will do 7.4v!!
anyone with the white rod with iris recommend a voltage setting for shatter?
I have only the white rt now but am hearing great things about the black rod could volts be turned up slightly with iris and black rod for less button press time? or is that asking for trouble

The black rod at 4 volts is perfect in my opinion.

I got to open up the SR71 last night and the craftsmanship is amazing :o I took it apart, did an iso soak, rebuilt and tested ... it's at 1.7 ohms.

I just now got to load it up and I loaded the crap out of it. First I threw in about 1.2 and tested it out and got very light, hot hits. So I decided to just start packing shatter in and melting it down til I thought the coil was packed. There is now oil coating the top of the coil and I can see it dripped down into the lower chamber a little bit. The air intake is still free flowing but oil is coming out of one of the 4 holes in the lower chamber. After packing it up I'm still getting wispy hot hits. The hits seem to thicken up if I take consecutive hits in a row but they are still pretty light ... especially for how long I mash on the button. I've tried brand new freshly charged batteries so I don't think that's my issue.

Any tips for these "face melting" hits I've been reading about from the pro SR71 users?

Have you tried without the outer black shell? Just the inner herc ss assembly, ptfe lower insulator, and mp?

Use the Iris to bring the Herc down to 5.8v. You will get large clouds (just takes a little longer than 7.4) that taste better than any other vape or nail, hands down. It will stop from burning oil as well. Also, if you have some oil that you don't like the taste of on a nail, throw it into the Herc and it becomes tasty as sin. :nod:

You're "supposed" to cut the coil down to ~30-40% for shatter. Some people have recommended leaving it short enough so that when it sits down in the cart, the tip of the rod extends a few mm's above the coil. Hang on for a sec so someone with more experience can guide you.

@MileHighLife @Quetzalcoatl is correct. I've been using about a 30% coil (rod sticks out slightly above the coil) for shatter and get massive clouds with no leaks.

Cool thanks ... the used coil that came with the herc was already cut down so I'll test it out.

Edit: I had so much oil in the lower cylinder :clap:

The 8 was originally an herb chamber which was sidelined by the pursuit of other peripherals.

The Vection and Duction are supposedly run offs of some of these sidelined projects like the 8, or Gloc, or Universe.

My guess, as it's under their "Vaporizer" category and not under it's own, is this might be a desktop unit. The first, I think, dedicated to EO?

I see that on there too now, but it says "stay tuned". W9 Tech is so good at taking my money that i might as well set up a partial weekly direct deposit of my money into THEIR bank account!! Lol. I should be a beta tester with all of their products I've purchased!!(hint,hint-G) And I'm currently waiting on the Nibbler Xl in the mail for my SR71, which now I hear is about to be updated to the SR74, which is actually awesome as long as it doesn't end up costing us a bunch of money to upgrade or something and as long as it'll still fit my new Nibbler XL that I JUST ordered! Lol. And now "The 8 Oil Vape"?? Wasn't "The 8" supposed to be a herb vape?? I'm willing to bet that this might be that water filtered one which looks to me like it might have a built in kiss cart with the titanium grade 2 wire and a porous ceramic wick!!??? That sounds like that could be pretty tasty if that's what it is!! I guess we'll hafta wait and see! Hopefully I'm wrong and it's even better!! I can't wait to see what they came up with now!!

I was just throwing iris v2 in hopes of an update. The 8 sounds like it turned into the bender and hercules. But whats on the site is probably a placeholder for the updated sr-71 (sr-74?)

That would be something I'd like to see! A desktop vape for just Oils! Sounds cool.
Edit: Ever since I got "The Core" now my Persei is a desktop plug in/portable!! I love the core!
