Got my 2ohm kiss carts. These are exactly what I need at the moment. Saves my oil by not dabbing, but still enough to medicate. Until I have a good supply of meds, I will kiss instead of herc.

I like the herc, but for on the go, it's to cumbersome.

Hopefully the upgrade kit will be nicely discounted for those who have already spent money not expecting an upgrade a mere 3 months later. If the "new" parts were truly new features or something, cool, but, the "new" parts address performance issues and should definitely be refelective of that in the price of the kit.:2c:

I posted a while back that my black rod was not working. Just the slight misty hits. After cleaning up the Hercules one day and being jealous at others success with the black rod, I followed Mud's procedures and BAM! Clouds. So in a delighted frenzy I kept going and the 650 that came with the Hercules died quick. After a full charge it went quick again. So I picked up an Ultrafire 650/3000 mAh and it runs damn near as good as the white rod. So if there is anyone out there with a dormant black rod, maybe try MUD's procedure stacked with a new cell, you might get what you need. My white rod hasn't been used since. And also, my black had the slight curve to it too so if that was holding anyone back from trying, I can attest to them (well at least mine) being ok..

Most likely we will do an package upgrade for White Rod, AAF, bottom adapter.

But to make sure this is gonna work we are most likely gonna ask people to turn in their older white rods to get a discount on the upgrade kit.


As I promised AAF washer will free and we won't charge for it inside the kit.

If you only want the AAF washer then the original deal was you pay for the shipping.

Extra parts for the Hercules also being manufactured so that we can have people purchasing spare parts and have no more down time.

The worse part is the Hercules needs to get a price increase.

Little confused by this...is the new ptfe insulator new mini white rings or is it the whole black bottom piece with the two red orings? And i get that if you upgrade the new ptfe piece you need to upgrade the rod, but if you dont upgrade the ptfe piece can you still use the new rod with it? And what about the black rods?

And is the SR74 something different, or just the hercules with the upgraded rods and ptfe?

The new Herc is same dimensions and majority if the parts will fit the 71. What won't work with the 71 is the new stainless top cap. This requires a new top housing.


The ceramic rod can't be placed wrong anymore. The center post has a floor now. This requires a new rod if the center post is upgraded.

The bottom adapter can handle the black rod so that's not an issue.

You can upgrade the white rod rod and keep your current setup. Or upgrade the whole housing because the top section on the new one has a thread for the stainless top cap.


We will be doing it in packages. Let's say if you want the new rod, bottom adapter, housing, extra ptfe parts. The only thing we are asking back is the rod.

Understood. But you can see how some who have had issues with the old tech working properly, hope the "upgrade" fee isn't too costly, as we originally paid for the Herc to work properly off the bat. Not pay one price to own it and then pay more to make it work like it should have initially.

Maybe I don't understand what all is being "upgraded", or even if I need it or such(will it cure my button pressing and no power issues that happen more and more frequently).

Appreciate all you do here G and not trying to stir the pot at all. I haven't even seen the prices yet, so how can I bitch.

The upgrade parts arnt needed and the Hercs work fine without them. The upgraded parts won't increase performance at all other then the AAF, which that was already discussed as a optional free upgrade for anyone that wants it but has to pay shipping. It's the Persei's that are giving out because the tops arnt made to handle it that's the reason for the upgrades and the convenience factor. The Perseis are under warranty so the tops are not charged when they go for a replacement.


Don't get me wrong the new center post on a clean Herc won't come undone when you separate the top and bottom sections like the first gen sr71, but if there is oil that's sticking the center post to the rod then it will still come apart when separating the two sections. The upgrades makes it more Murphy's law proof but we all know that's not possible.

All in all the upgrades are a convenience upgrade not a performance one.

Have you tried using the core/black rod with just herbs? When i was trying the blue rod G mentioned it worked much better on an Iris at around 4.1-4.2V. I could never get any vapor from herbs and blue rod at 3.7V but i did get okay results from the black rod and just herbs at 3.7V so im assuming if you crank it up a little it might just be perfect...

No,I haven't tried just herb yet with the core and Herc/black rod. I'll hafta try it out. I plan on getting another Herc that I'm gonna try for just herb. I bet the black rod would bring out the flavor in the bud too! I'll let ya know when I try it.

Hey G, I got a question. I didn't realize the AAF washers are offered as an upgrade if we pay the shipping. I was actually just about to put in that order for my Nibbler XL right now, bcuz u said you'd have them in 2moro to start shipping again, so is it possible that you could just include one of those AAF washer's in my order for me to try out please?? I love my Herc and would like to try one of those. Please let me know asap bcuz I wanna put the order in but idk if I should wait or not to make sure u know to add the AFF washer to the order. Thanks in advance for your help.
Also, did u change the threading on the bottom connectors for the Hercs or did my first TWO bottom connectors just happen to be two different bad ones? Bcuz the bottom connector u just sent me seems like the grooves are alot deeper and it seems to hold in my tops alot better!! I like it! My other ones seemed stripped or something and my Herc has even popped out of my tops on me b4!!

G, I've been using some blond crumble that is very difficult to melt (and very potent, 87-93% THC).
I too have found that shatters (and CO2 oils) are easier to load in the Herc. These high potency crumbles are driving me crazy! (and not just in a good way :)).

That has been my concentrates of choice these dayz!
CRUMBLES was my go to wax for the 2.4 carts.
However I like CO2 OIL for my carts.
SHATTER for the HERCULES.
I haven't tried CRUMBLE in a HERCULES SR 71 so you know more than I on the subject!

SHATTER is doable however I have to buy CO2 OIL (I do not have the Required Equipment).

I like your comment about CO2 oil being easier to load.

I dream of a vape company that makes a solid product that works out of the box, and that doesn't have any foreseeable upgrades due to the fact that 'it just works'. w9 tech is always on that 'next best thing' or 'you thought this was good, stay tuned for something even better'. Been following the company for years and that's the one thing that turned me off, is that there is always something better. Meaning the current offerings are lacking. I thought after sitting out for years it would be safe to jump in on the herc, I was wrong, upgrades are coming.

I think you can find that with some vapes right now? MFLB, VG and the 'stem vapes' come to mind? And Vapman (a personal fav). I've also had several Iolites with no problems. And of course there's a host of e-cigs (vapes as well) that work as advertised routinely. It is possible.

It can, of course, be in the nature of cutting edge technology to be 'out there on the thin ice' anyway, and the demands of business often force things into the market 'before their time'. Things move too fast to let products mature normally in the real world?

Life is compromise. You might have less hair to comb, but now you have more forehead to wash.

Will the new higher ohm white rod eliminate the intermittent power button. Assuming the fixed rod will prevent the button from being an issue on a new head, will we need to send in our affected tops to be fixed.

What about very early Herc pre order customers who purchased the now useless Herc Accessory kit? Will there ever be any discounts for them, I feel like I threw away $60 to be an early Herc owner, when I should have waited.... a year or so.

If you get a 601 to 510 adapter the ohm meter should work just fine. Should have scooped one last time I ordered as I have one of those meters on the way, but I will just be using my multimeter until I get the adapter.
