By all means! Modify to your delight. That't the nice thing about this vape: you are given glass to start with, then modify as needed!
I think the answer to your question is that nothing sits on the screen since the screen is above the herb at least that is what I observed but I wouldn't trust me. Nigel where are you.

There are effectively two screens: The one at ingress, and the one at egress. Either would not be hampered by a additional screen... if your grind depends upon it.
yup. Glass-lined ceramic bowl. Above that the two glass pieces (for which you get a replacement set with purchase).

let us know the results jimmy! I think all he was saying is adding screens to adapt to his fine grind which would be nice. She had mentioned that she had some fine grind and got a mouth full of mint. So holes in glass prob larger for air flow . I do believe a good grind brings out the flavors and medicine more. Adding screens might affect the taste as thats the point of having all glass.Oh but please don't Jimmy cause it will give me a huge headache. Go and look at the video. The herb goes in the bottom in a glass bowl. Above the bowl is the "removable screen", basically a long piece of glass with holes in it. It goes through the ascent and connects to the other glass piece, the mouth piece. Now again I may have been in lala land and have it all backwards which is always very possible.

My DaBuddha is visiting it's old home in Colorado for a much needed tune up, so i do not have his teachings to keep me centered and calm. Luckily i was able to hold myself back or i would have surely gotten Sticks peeved at me and a flurry of points from the MOD's.

Nothing against GotVape. I've never done business with them and I'm sure that they are reliable. But their link to the Ascent appears to be have some old and, based on this blog, incorrect information. For example: (1) the wood grain they show for the Ascent is the original version not the burl that is now being used, (2) the retail price is inferred to be $350 and that their price of $250 is discounted over 300% and (3) that the li-ion batteries are removable. They are not using current information or haven't updated the link. So why can you suppose that they are able to take valid preorders. If I'm not supposed to bring this information to the attention of bloggers then I'm bad.

I went with GotVape because I have a 10% off code so it saved me $25.
I paid with PayPal and they won't bill me till the 14th (under the impression that since I bought it April 30th that by the 14th I should receive it.)
If I have recieved any word by the 14th I am putting in a stop payment that day.
I already bitched them out for allowing the charge to go through then sent me a "out of stock" email the next day. Most places I deal with won't charge your credit card until they ship on a "back order".
They didn't say a word about "Pre-order" until the third email back and forth.
I am waiting with baited breath now since the last couple comments have me wondering. As far as I knew GotVape was a reputable place. Right?

I got my Solo from them, latest model, price matched for $155, and had no problems with them whatsoever. I'm sure you'll be fine.
But they could stand to upgrade their Ascent page, especially since they're doing pre-orders now. The pics they're showing are not what you'll get. And I don't understand why they're claiming that list price, other than to make people think they're getting an awesome deal from them?

I dunno, I personally am just going to wait for the Da Vinci manufacturer pre-sale. The notion of potentially getting a free water pipe attachment for having pre-registered is way too enticing

This is what I always recommend. If you're already spending the money, buy direct. That way you get the best level of service/product. Rather than going through a third party distributor, this may allow for a less than desirable experience at times. The quality customer care from Davinci that I have received is worth way more in comparison then a few dollars saved. Say whether or not they would put the FedEx option when checking out because I was wondering the same thing and they currently only have the free shipping option and the USPS priority for 5$
