^^ I read the articles, but don't see the same concerns. The MSDS was for PTFE resin not PTFE. From what I am reading, the hazardous materials in the resin should be eliminated during the manufacturing process.

The reference to hydrofluoric acid was in reference to a situation that was under the section "Advice to firefighters" and dealt with a situation where water can react with hydrogen fluoride fumes.

I don't think the reaction between silicone and butane in the context of what we are doing is something horrific. It's not like the silicone turns into something deadly. But the silicone on parchment paper can come off and get into your oil, and I doubt that allowing the parchment paper to come in contact with butane helps.

The problem with the Coleparmer chemical resistance chart, is that it only appears to apply 'at' a 48 hr exposure period (their comment on the site), which is nowhere near the exposure times we are using it at.
