I've been listening to a lot of Bob James's early fusion. Some beautiful melodies in there!

hopandstop,
Hopandstop, I love Daniel Johnston. "Walking the Cow" is my favorite song of his, though I can't help but love most of his other stuff just as much. Have you seen the movie "The Devil and Daniel Johnston"? Heartbreaking, and inspiring movie. A must see if you are a fan. I'll have to check out the other bands on your list.

Yes, that movie is really incredible. I had no idea what it would be like, but it was exactly what you said: heartbreaking. He is a true artist

hopandstop,
Listening to a band called "Pivot" right now. Their album "O soundtrack my heart". It reminds me of Fugazi's instrumental stuff, but electronic music based. Very easy to get carried away listening to this album. It's instrumental music with lots of emotional weight. Instrumental Post-punk electro is what I'd classify it as. Very easy to vape to as well. They are on a favorite label of mine, Warp records. If you like the band "Battles" then you'd probably like this band.

SkeletonLips,
I would never have believed it if anyone had told me a year ago, but I am listening to Lady GaGa's "Fame Monster" double disc. It is extremely infectious and has a number of tracks that I play over and over. "Lovegame" and "Poker Face" are a couple for example.

To me,her sound is sort of a Madonna x Abba, with a little Courtney Love thrown in for nastiness. Try it, you may be surprised like I was!

I saw the Daniel Johnston movie in 2005 when it first came out. I had never heard of him and the documentary was fascinating. The next day, I happened to see in the paper that he had a show coming up at a small club in town. The show was amazing. He played that old beat up guitar of his, and sang a couple songs, and then the local opening band came out and was his back up band for the remainder of the concert. It was great to see a near sold out crowd (about 800 people) with a ton of young kids in the audience.

Definitely catch him live if you get a chance.

That would be amazing to see. I would see him in a heartbeat. And yep, young and old enjoy Daniel, as I've introduced him to teenagers, as well as a few people in their 50's and 60's.

I guess that Im old school but I like and always have liked anything by Pink Floyd. I was listening to PF back in the late 60's and never quit. I can catch a buzz, close my eyes, purge my thoughts and float away. :ko: I love it. I listen to classic rock all of the time, the Doors, the Stones, ZZ Top, AC/DC, Joan Jet, Crosby Stills & Nash, CCR, Led Zeppelin, Meat Loaf, Molly Hatchet, Jethro Tull Jimmy Hendricks, etc, etc. PF is still my favorite when I'm stoned. Warren Zevon is playing right now - Werewolves OF London, my theme song. :brow:

same here lycanthrope only i wasn't even a glistening in my Dads eye in the 60's and 70's
but grew up with it.
i listen to alot of music always alternative from ballads to trash to electro but i always end up back in the sixties
the sound is infused with my soul

Plant,
Lycanthrope, a good 25 percent of my music collection is all 60s era music. My favorite band the Beatles are from that era. Pink Floyd is another of my faves as well, just watched a documentary on Dark Side of the Moon about a week ago on netflix. Made me appreciate that album soo much more to see a glimpse of what went in to it.
Devo, Zombi is great, I've recommended them to lots of people. I have 3 of their albums, and love their sound. I'll have to check out the other recommendations of yours. You should check out the new Holy Fuck album "Latin", if you like this kind of "live elctro" music.
I've been listening to a band called Sleigh Bells lately, they are a new buzz band of late. Totally original in their sound, yet drawing on so many familiar sounds of the past 20 years. Really amazing stuff. Fun music great for the summer.
I picked up Talk Talk's album Laughing Stock, and it is so beautiful. You can tell they influenced a whole bunch of current and past musical genres. Great music to vape to. My favorite song is New Grass, check out that song if you can.

Plant & SkeletonLips, Hey man thanks . I'm glad that you enjoy it too. I was in my teens and early 20's & 30's back in the day when that music was made it's been around a long time and I figure that it will be around forever, that's why they call it Classic Rock. Thanks for the recommendations that you guys made, I'll check them out as I'm always interested in something new, and I have a very open mind. I'm also into blues very much so. Allot of the old black blues men were smokin and tokin back in the 20's before any of us were ever dreamed of.

Has anyone ever heard of Tom Waits? He is absolutely unique, and not just a singer so to say, but a performance artist with a gravel voice. He writes all of his own stuff. There is no one else like him or even close. I have seen him in live performances, its ass kicking when your straight, but when your stoned its knock down bitchen. I have one of his early albums-Diamond Dogs (circa 1978) and hes still going strong, better than back in 78. He's been on TV; I think on the Artists and Entertainment channel recently with 2-hour specials at live performances, I never miss a chance to watch Tom Waits. He's not for everyone though. Just wondering if anyone else out there in Vapeland has heard of him or likes what he does?

Bruce, I'm glad to hear that someone besides me knows and appreciates Tom Waits. I was mistaken about the TV channel that has his live performance special, it's the Ovation channel. If you get it on cable or satellite watch for his performance as they run it periodically.

Vape on Brother.
