Thanks for that, yes, I was mingling many thoughts at the time . . .

Keep the science going guys, I'm in the Clouds for a while ;)

I read that bit too, but thought you just meant that they took commercial BHO, which is invariably gonna come from trim.

I've been researching this ever since PG 1st dropped. Its good to see this topic actually coming to light! Can somebody drop some info on yield ratio's?

It's being used as a co solvent to help clean the oil. It's doesn't seem to diminish the yield noticeably but the d-lim needs ti be used sparingly because it hard to evap cleanly

Tetralab was recently contacted regarding LD (lethal dosage). They forwarded the message to a tech who responded about 2 weeks later. He said this

"Thanks for your interesting question. It's a new one on us. As far as we know, there is no lethal dosage either with PureGold or Marinol. In fact, a lot of clinical studies have been done on this, and it turns out that THC is remarkably safe. As I recall, a lethal dosage for rats was determined; however, it took an amount of THC comparable to a considerable portion of the rat's body weight. There is no known way to get that many pounds ofTHC into a human body. Nor has there ever been a reported case of a lethal dose of THC that we are aware of. And we've looked. Drugs that are dangerous, such as opiates, usually act on the nervous system in such a way as to suppress the part of the nervous system that controls breathing. This is very dangerous. THC does not do that. If you tried to overdose with it, you would probably become entranced with the pattern on your paisley tie for a while, and eventually doze off and wake up feeling fine.

However, it is still possible to take a dose that is to high for you. This can be uncomfortable but will pass and there will are no documented after effects. To prevent this, we always recommend starting with a low dose. Once you determine your ideal dose, you can repeat it forever because our products are tightly controlled with regard to potency and dosage. It's a bad analogy, but we make them like MacDonald's wants their burgers to be--exactly the same every where, every time.

Regards,
The TetraLabs Technical Team"

Couple of things that could be noticed is how different devices may/will cause puregold to effect some differently. As has been said, Omicron carts arent the greatest for it. And the effect overall is changed as opposed to a ti nail with rig. After effects may be noticed. The research and studies should be cited for such a statement. "No Doctumented After Effects".

Secondly, Marinol does have 4 documented direct death cases to it. And thats what was known even before. Asking about toxicity. They say 95% but how much is that actually?? Parts per million? Is it measurable in weight? So what is the lethal dosage? Probably fairly high but wont marinol be too??? especially if they are the same base component. Was marinol an OD? Believe so, cant find the citation for What the cause of death was but the report says it was Directly relating to marinol.

This is only being brought up for entertainment purposes. And continuing on the topic of science and puregold/d-limonene.

One question for those who know, What does the NON- d-limonene taste like? how can you tell? From the video online it shows it as more red without limonene.

Recent web searches on D-limonene showed that it is a skin and eye irritant. How would those at all be good for people to inhale? If anyone can put more information on inhalation up, that be nice. Puregold makes a version without d-limonene. Would like to see what thats about. EPA and CDC dont have any info on inhalation but show it can be irritating to other parts of the human. Anyone got more info? If not, will contact tetralabs again about this. And how about d-limonene vs butane extracted. As for ppm of irritants or carcinogens. If its better of the two then thats great. And a full comparison of butane extracted vs puregold vs puregold plus.

d-liminonine is found in all cannabis. It gives it a lemony taste and smell. Along with the alpha-pinene in cannabis, gives us that familiar "lemon - pine" that many strains have. If you use cannabis, you are inhaling d-limonene.
TetraLabs adds some d-limonene to it's "plus limonene formula" strictly because some people felt that without the lemony flavor, it's wasn't as satisfying.

BTW: d-limonene has medicinal qualities as well: A cannabinoid agonist, immune potentiator, antidepressant andantimutagenic properties.
BTW2: PureGold is not "extracted" using d-limonene at all. It's a fractional vaporization and separation at room temperature under vacuum. They use d-limonene as a carrier / washout solvent to avoid using petrochemical solvents that may place them in legal hot water.

Ever smell or eat an orange? (that's d-limonene) It's on the FDA's "GRAS" List of safe products.

^ and this is safe for your lungs? Yes, the concentration isnt known, but even minute amounts.

BUT all in all its probably a ton better than bho or iso or any other form of concentrate.

I know this is an old thread but I've been seeing the topic heat back up on a few forum boards in the last 2 weeks. I know Im working with limonene currently trying to see what quality the simpler distillation methods offer vs going to the more elaborate vacuum systems to try to produce a product that rival bho in cultural appeal without the toxic downside for the producers and in some cases the patients aswel. The results are just too attractive to not have 17-25 year old's playing with volatile substances and breaking every rule of logical good lab practices in the process of making a "medicinal product". Anyways limonene will be figured out this madness has to stop. I don't think when bob marley sang about weed being the healing of the nation it would need solvents that are the destruction of our environment to make it. This dam orange peel juice is going to save us all.

d-limonene freezes, I'm wondering if a person couldn't extract with d-limonene then mix with everclear then freeze and the d-limonene could then be filtered out...

D-limonene doesn't freeze till -74c, im hoping to winterize in seconds by putting the extrated solution in a second flask filled with limonene and dry ice. I got the idea from how they use acetone and dry ice to be a slush bath for vapor traps. I dunno if everclear can swap the thc out of limonene, last i tried limonene floated on isopro unless you emulsify the pants out of it.
