Ed's tubes are very nicely made of beautiful woods. At half price they are a bargain too. I recently picked up an Amboyna burl tube which I like very much. I think Ed's tubes are all made for the old brass zap hardware, the smaller diameter brass fitting. The three tubes I have bought from him all were. He includes a little brass sleeve which adapts the tip to one of the later, rockzap stainless heatports. Other than Ed's tubes, it is very difficult nowadays to get the brass tip tubes, and none of the other makers tubes fit the old, brass, small diameter heatports.

All those stems look nice. I have the one that's standing and I can say it's one of my most used stems. Ed makes some great stems. I also picked up a purpleheart stem too.

here for the chicks
I was going to post this in the HI thread, but since we're discussing them all over the place I choose this thread over the PD one :p

Mine just came in. It doesn't have the pretty red spots unfortunately, but it does match my HI very well imo:

Very nice match you have there OTA, glad to see it!

Rick, I have been checking in watching for your updates and wishing you all the best! I keep thinking like I think you have mentioned that they havent moved on this yet, cause there is nothing there. Thats what I am really hoping and what I heard before is no news is good news! I will keep checking and hoping for a positive outcome. You and yours deserve all the best.

It sucks that after nearly two months you are still being left with questions unanswered, Rick. Hearing about the confidence you have in your lawyer, the "lion" you have in you, all the support you have from your immediate family (obviously) and your FC family (obviously), and the fact that they clearly did not get what they were coming for makes me think that even if the initial answers are disappointing, everything will almost certainly work out in the end. I don't know that, obviously, and I don't have "faith" in that; it just really seems like the most logical conclusion to draw from the evidence. I hope I'm right.

Vitolo, you rule. We are all grateful to you for the videos, pics, and knowledge you dole out on a regular basis, expecting nothing in return. The same goes for everyone here, actually. I fucking love this place. I am always telling my boyfriend how amazing the vibe is here, how kind and helpful and knowledgeable and funny everyone is--and I always feel so silly talking that way about some online forum. But it's TRUE.

And then there's Rick. Very few people who have asked me about my vape do not know who Rick is, because you can't explain the vape without explaining that the cool old hippy who makes them stays in contact with his customers and treats them like family. The one and only time I had a problem (not with the vape; it was with the power supply), Rick was my email hero, and a few days later the fix came in the mail. ("Fix came in the mail." That kind of talk must be the reason the LEOs following Rick here at FC thought he was dealing. Hi, guys!)

And speaking of my power supply, the plug on the end of my VVPS cord came apart. My camera quit working, so unfortunately I can't send shots. The tip and the black rubber ring below it both came out. I used just a dab of superglue (trying to keep it only where the rubber meets the metal), and it looked right, but I am not sure that the skinny rod (that's a technical term) inside the plug is positioned correctly. The vape gets warm, but not warm enough to vaporize anything that I may feel inclined to insert into a stem.

I love my Stealth Tattoo power supply. (Rick sent it to me to try out, free of charge, after my 12-volt quit working. Have I mentioned that he's a really nice guy?) I'd really like to get it going again. I know that there are instructions on how to make a cord at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/r...upplies-for-log-vapes.4918/page-5#post-239073, but seeing as how I have none of that stuff and am a stoner, that seems like a whole thing, and I'd rather buy one. Does anyone know where I can buy just that cord? I usually consider myself a pretty apt, boolean-happy Googler, but I am having no luck here.

I don't have an alternative power supply, so right now I am stuck with--gasp!--a pipe and a bong. Sucks balls inhaling all that smoke. Anyone know where I can get a new cord, or will I need to just buy a whole new power supply?

Thanks much, everyone. And I hope smooth sailing is ahead, Rick. Happy farming!

you ll need

This plug buy a few of these they are $1

A scissors

a trimming or sharp knife to strip the insulation off the copper wires (be careful Fc Family)

a small terminal screwdriver to fit the plug screws in the plug above

a small roll of black electrical tape to wrap it all together to support the joint

How to fix your e Zap or any other log without soldering hillbilly style

make sure youre power supply is off .

cut the old power plug off with a scissors.

use a sharp knife to cut the rubber sheath 1/2 inch off both wires to reveal copper strands.do this slowly and try not to cut into the copper strands when you do it.

twist the copper strands together.this makes the copper core stronger and stops it splitting when you push the wires in to the plug

Slide the twisted wire into one of the holes and using a small screwdriver tighten the screws on to the copper wires.

then using electrical tape wrap the wire leading into the plug and wrap several times to support the join you ve made.

And now youre a true techy!

Try to leave youre log set up in one place and try not move youre log too muc.this will stop unneeded pressure on the new join.

make sure to wrap the plug and wire tightly and neatly with electrical tape. This is the key part to this job and will hold everything together for much longer.:)

u bwade wunner, thanks much for the response. I should have specified, but it is the plug that goes into the VVPS, not into the vape. I do appreciate that info, though, and will keep it handy in case I ever have troubles with the other end!

ok so if you but the plug i mentioned and a tattoo power cable. and follow the procedure in the above post using the new cable.

You should be vaping and not smoking in no time at all.

You should be able to get up and running for under $6 and you will learn a lot at the same time.

It pays to know how to fix your e own log anyway.

power inlet/outlet faults are a common due to constant movement and heat stress .

The cable I describe could be used permanently.personally I think its hard to beat soldered cable ends but hey if it works and it gets you going again

Good luck :)

Hillbilly Zap plug Part 2

So i decided to add a picture of what the finished wiring should look when its finished. they say a picture tells a thousand words.

This is what the nearly completed Zap cable should look like.

its a simple affair strip wires insert in holes red or striped power supply wire to + on the plug.Tighten screws onto wires so the bite down.the wrap in strong black electrical tape where the wiring enters the plug to hold and support the connection.Plug into your e zap and youre good to go:)

^Do the "hilbilly" fix if you must, but a soldering iron is a great investment and pretty easy to learn. Even a cheap $15 radio shack pen could do simple jobs like connecting power cord wires, get some heat shrink and you'd have a permanent connection you won't have to worry about.

Wow! So much time has passed since I last posted on this thread. So many good questions and good answers. u bwade wunner, thank you so much for the detailed information regarding installation of the replacement green/black plug that goes on the end of a fixed or VV power supply cord and plugs into any log vape. I do believe all log vapes use the same 5.5 x 2.1 mm plug. xenith, good advice on a soldering iron. Even if one were to use the green/black plug shown above which clamps the wire rather than using a solder connection, tinning the ends of the wires with solder will make make the install even better. With the wire ends tinned(heated enough to allow solder to flow in the stranded wire), you turn the wire into a solid wire which will clamp better in the plug.

megan5marie, if you send me an Email with your address, I will hunt down a used VV power cord that will work fine and send it to you. LEOs took all my new supply inventory of anything Zap related but they left lots of straggler stuff around. I also appreciate your thoughts on our situation and your conclusion based on what facts you all know from the little information I have offered. Anticipating positive has always worked for me in all parts of our life. I try to never put a negative bridge in front of me as I figure The Master Flow will help me cross such a bridge if it ever appears.

Today is the two month anniversary of the invasion of our property which happened July 25th at 6AM sharp and lasted til noon. I talked with our lawyer again today. Still no news of any kind from the folks on the other side. The warrant used for the invasion is still secret and really does not exist, legally from our perspective. Laws are very interesting and one never really knows much about them until intimately involved with the particular law as we are now. I did get some wonderful news about 'the law' from my lawyer today that was different from our past understanding. That news relates to our rights as citizens of this fine country and the great State of Idaho. Idaho has an incredible Constitution with much emphasis on individual and private property rights.

The wait is still on for now. I will not have any news about our situation until more time passes. It is the game and we must play it.

We were in a race to the finish of Aromazap. We were running good and set to make the finish line with integrity and responsibility to our many customers. Then, someone tripped us right before the finish and we fell flat on our face. We are still there and we cannot get up...........yet. Hang in there. We will be getting up before too long.
Also remember, this event happened because of a very confused ex family member who needs professional help. Any person who can consciously lie to State Police officers to hurt someone needs help, especially when that person could have hurt 3 fine young boys and did not even think about that part of the deal.

edit to add: Anyone with a need for some small accessory, please Email me. I might be able to send you somewhere to get what you need and or help in some other way. My apologies if I have not answered all previous requests for help. I have been in a very strange place for Zapman to be in these last two months. Ten years taken away in six hours has a lasting impact on this old hippy.

i rarely use my zap with out it anymore.
it is even noob friendly. i think maybe even more noob friendly then the regular stems. i use my bubbler with first time users all the time. have never had an issue.
with the stems people are constantly accidentally pulling them out and dropping them and their contents.

Nice Ed! And kudos to Vito! :clap:Have always thought those things look awesome - just hadn't gotten around to getting one before stuff happened in Zapland. Clearly a case of "you snooze, you lose" for us. Maybe someday, when things get sorted out, they'll be available again (Underdog bubbler maybe?). In the interim, our CRZ is still chugging along - good as ever! :)
