my HI(sland) just arrived! Beautiful...small....., on VV PS turned up to max I am bong-vaping like a madman w/in 10 minutes of opening the package! One of so few (beautiful) pieces of kit that performed beyond expectations right out of the box....Started off w/the 14mm gong tube in my Oly 14" stemless double perc (gridline to helix I think)...filled it pretty quickly, over and over and over and...this is the same single "bowl" mind you.....Flavor is, wow, just Wonderful, especially the 1st 3ishhhh....

QUICK QUESTION: whats the red bare PCB w/the grid of LEDs and bare prong connectors??

this thing is beautiful and small, smaller than my Solo, and shorter than my TV T1! such wonderful mouthfuls of thick vapor....believe all the hype, wait, is it still hype if it's all true?? Hahaha I've only been using it for this past 25 min and I can see the distinct possibility that this'll be my go to at home in lieu of my HA and Solo both...

Voltage tester eh? whatever for? and how would one use such a tester with the provided VV and regular PSs?

I'm catching up on the whole thread I'm on page 45 or so (I tried but I couldn't bare to read this thread during the long wait, it was getting too urgent and close to home for me :) )

this thing is really a game-changer as a tool of mass-medication! the size weight and feel are just pure in your hand and the learning-curve on roasting well enough to get going is small to almost none (at least for me, here and now)...

Just used it w/my Solo 18mm gong and with a little delicacy I manage quite well with it!....

guess you should change your e sig dude and how stoked must you be,all deliverred in time for the weekend and the games.every day feels like a weekend when your e Hi.

I got the dark Cherry, the craftsmanship is artisan, the design is simple, elegant and intuitive as any vape i've ever used (This is my 1st log though) the price seems absurd(ly low) but I aint complainin' :)

All i have for pics is my old iphone but I'll try to get some up in the next week...

Just got my Black Leaf Saxo today and Allison at SSFG is trying to send me everything in her inventory (just kidding, they are however, very generous people... she has been a pleasure to deal/talk to). Anyway... I think this Saxo will be a perfect piece for the HI. Have to get a 18/14 reducer... but straight/vertical vapor path, into probably the sweetest firing tree perc I've seen (no shit... watch Wat's video I attach). Wide open design. That should work well, with the HI.

I could make a video... but it would literally look, just like this. Mine fires, just as well. Not bad for Chinese glass.

Though, I think when I get my SSFG rig on Monday, it will definitely my daily driver.

Hey Alan(or any one who bouth one) How much does the all glass roasting tip cost? I already have a nice wooden stem that seems as though it will work with it.

It's 30 bucks Ed. They're are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. I recommend the thicker one, it is really sturdy and feels very durable. For some reason the screen seems to clog up a lot slower then with my other stems btw, which is another big plus imo :tup:


It wasn't much more then half a video Alan, but luckily it was just long enough to see vapor production starting. I'm a bit surprised it was visible at all btw, considering it was filmed outside with blue sky's and the sun blazing at HI noon :haw:

I'll try to do better next time, if my bubbler ever arrives..

OhTheAgony, I believe you're referring to the all-glass roasting tube (which is $30), though mflb is asking about the glass roasting tip (in my most recent picture on this thread). And for those, I'm unsure of the exact price, as mine came with part of a package, but since it's not as long as the glass tube (though same diameter), my guess is that it's less than $30. But Alan can confirm for sure.

Speaking of glass tubes and such, here I am all glassed up and ready to paint the town HI!

Menny - The 13mm x 1.25" long glass roasting tubes are $10 each. They work on both the 2-piece glass roasting tube and the wooden mouthpiece. The ID of the glass varies slightly so that the wood must be cut very precisely and the glass matched to the wooden tube.

OTA - The screens have all been hand hammered to give them a shiny surface and enlarge them to 10mm diameter. The shiny surface seems to collect less material and keep it clean longer. Looking forward to a video with your new bubbler.
BigDaddyVapor - The new glass looks great. It will look even better with the HI.

Chance2Vape - I'm glad to hear your HI arrived safely and it exceeded your expectations. It has sure exceeded mine. Welcome to the fellowship of JedHI. You will become a master in no time. Very cool that you were able to use your Solo stem on it. The heat just never stops. Maybe you will get a chance to try the Vapor Lung someday. It is a really nice way to roast. VH, is that big the loading chamber in that stem??? I really like it. It's like twice a Solo stem.
I think it's worthy a try in a Solo :)

Whoops, thanks for correcting me VH, I must have misread that somehow. Plus I can't keep up with all the names, they're just stems & nipples to me :lol:

The nipples were either 6 or 8 bucks I believe.

That's a real tiny tube you have there btw, how tall/short is it?

Alan, aren't all the screens I received from you hammered or is it just the one in the all glass GonG tube stem thingie?


That stem won't fit in a Solo's chamber Zangano, it's to thick to fit in there.

Yes, it's super nice, Zangano. To explain the tube, it's 3" long, fits perfectly in my 14mm glass downstem (or any 14mm female thingy), and the dark line you see about 1/8" from the top or so (I think) is the screen. Perfect bowl size for me--allows for my perfect blend of air and herb.

And yes, I changed my avatar. RIP Phil Hartman--man I miss that guy. I'll use this for a while in tribute to him.

Actually, I must be wrong. The screen looks to be roughly 1/2" from the top. Regardless, it's a nice-sized bowl. :)

Vapinghole - I have been trying to make the screen about 18mm from the top. This should allow plenty of room for stirring and keeps the herb from being too close to the heating element. I never fill the bowl more than half full so that it always has great air flow.

Zangano Cruel - The HI should make a fine pair for your new glass. The HI never met a glass that it didn't fill with vapor. I believe that bOObs has used one of my all glass roasting tubes in his Solo. He had to turn the heat way up but it worked. Would love to try making some glass roasting tubes for the Solo someday, but I'm already making too damn many different roasting tubes.

OhTheAgony - I have been hammering all of my screens. The 10mm screens start out as 3/8" diameter and then I hammer them until they are 10mm. The 5/16" screens for the SS tips are cut from a 1" diameter screens that has been hammered first. It really does seem to keep the screens clean longer.

Whew, with 2 of my new glass pieces, I was going to be SOL with 18mm adapters. Needed a reducer, plus... my 14mm whip adapter snapped (it got a quickie fix)... needs to be replaced. Hit up the Oregon guy on ioffer. 18 to 14 reducer and 14mm whip adapter, with shipping, $26. Nice... the whip adapter alone he sells for $19.

He really is a GREAT source for HQ adapters, downstems, other accessories and he will make deals to. He especially likes repeat business. I ordered these pieces this morning, he just messaged me, letting me know he made them, right after my order and should be to me, by Wednesday. He's the one, that also made the showerhead for my MiO Micro.

Now I'll have my adapter in hand, the day my HI arrives, so it can get properly acquainted with that massive Saxo and my vaporlicious SSFG!

Though, I noticed he's started carrying some of the cheapo ac/percs. He's open about the fact, he's got them from a "friend" and doesn't make the pieces. I just don't like it getting mixed in with his nice pieces.

Hey... you just worry about making all those people ahead of me, their HI. I've got real glass (art), that wants a work of art vape to go along with it. Worry about MY roasting tube. ;)
