I think my DV is suffering from more manufacture error :( . My unit has trouble charging. I have to either push and hold the plug into or slightly left in order for it to charge and buzz. This is fine when using the unit but I use it as my everyday go to portable so when I can't charge it over night when I fall asleep it becomes incredibly inconvenient. I only ever plugged it in at night and let it sit on my bed-side table so I don't know why this has happened. Would warranty cover a replacement? I would send it in but like I said it's my go to and currently only piece I have. I could try to take a video or shop around for a quick replacement piece, but I'm currently broke with no job, fresh out of school with the debt that comes with it, but I'm sure I could find something.

I have exactly the same problem.. i think it is a connection problem between the charger and the DV itself. What i do is put the charger in a way that it is continually pressing the side of the entrance in the hole. And then i monitor the battery icon, if the sequence doesnt stop and restart then it means it is charging correctly and i can go to sleep knowing the DV will be charged.

I thought i had a problem with my battery and then i realized it wasnt the battery, just a bad charger.

I was having a problem vaping oils using the oil cans provided with the davinci. I didn't think it would work for concentrates. I was using an empty steel can with a little oil in it with not much luck. I finally got those cans to work thanks to DV customer service. You are better off using the can with cotton in it. Just put a little oil on the cotton above the little pipe in the can and vape at your preferred temp. I was greatly surprised it works great. I got some organic cotton pads at walgreens and I use that to replace the spent cotton. The davinci oil cans are for real and vape oil great.

That is great! You use the same temps used for herbs?

Possibly, but no matter which way I put it it doesn't charge. I have to hold it in place in order for it to charge. This pretty much eliminates the portable bit and turns it into a plug in.

I put my adidas on top of the jack and that was enough to keep it charging without having to hold it.

Did you contact DV yet? Reminds me of a set of computer speakers I had once that had a pin that had to be just right to get stereo. Clearly a manufacturing defect.

Like ss said, that's a question for the company, not us. They might be willing to send you another charger, if they think that's the problem. As for warranty service, the vast majority of companies require you to send in the bad product first, otherwise it's a good way to lose product, since there'll always be dishonest buyers out there. If you're talking about finding a compatible charger, let me know if you have any luck, because I haven't.

Yea I have and hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.

I feel like its a problem in the unit itself and not the charger because the socket itself is very loose and if I remember correctly the socket was pretty tight when I first got it. I'm definitely willing to send mine if it means a new correctly working unit, but it's my only piece at the moment and I know the whole shipping back and forth thing can last a week or more (knowing my bad luck with Karma products even though I love them). Hopefully I can work something out or just buy a cheap new piece, but that might mean going back to combustion which I've been trying to stay away from.

I bought a VaporGenie for $55 when my E broke back in the day. It tied me over well, is cheap as shit, and I still use it from time to time...overall a good purchase.

Or you could just combust...it's only a week or two.

True, I probably will go back to combusting. I've though about buying a VG but I just don't have the cash right now. I'm literally broke as can be. My new piece budget is no more than $25 which is pretty sad.

pandawok, it could well be the charger. If so, I can get you a new one shipped out Monday.

If you feel it's the unit, call me at the office on Monday and I'll get you a replacement shipped out.

Any other wiring questions, I've sent an email to our engineer at the factory for full rundowns. I'd hate to answer and be wrong. I'm not an electrical engineer nor do I play one on the internet :)

I'm almost positive it's a problem with the unit because I can see whatever the charger plus into sliding around, and I'm pretty positive it felt a lot more solid before. Now it only charges when the plug is pushed into a certain area/position. I'm not really sure how that could be a charger but I could be wrong.

Much appreciated, any info on the specific materials/composition of the paint, amber tape inside the chamber, and the red/black insulation on the heater wires would be very welcome.:)

Although the charging jack looks solid(i haven't had any issue), if the connector is loose then it is most definitely on the jack end(unit end) not the charger.

It's getting harder and harder to find a position where it'll charge. And if I do find one, 80% it only lasts a minute, then I have to find one all over again :(

To those with a DV, does the black box thing that you plug the charger into move around? Or is it pretty secure in there?

What do you mean with black box thing? The ring around the charging port?

I'm pretty sure it's this circled in red. The place you plug the charger in. Mine moves all over the place

It seems i am in for the same fate, already contacted the website where i purchased it from. Do you know if the problem is in the charger or in the unit itself? Because i am having trouble charging as well although i don't have the moving heating port like Pandawok56.

Is it loose inside? If not, it could well be the charger. You can also give us a call at the office and someone will help walk you through and see if it's the charger or the unit.

The pin is loose if i poke it but otherwise it doesn't move. and the cilinder around the pin also moves when poked.

On a different note, as anyone tried cleaning the DaVinci with a Q-tip and using the cotton to vape after? Thinking of trying it tonight. :D

I think the black cylinder your talking about is the little black box that the charger plugs into, correct? Mine moved around too, but my pin was pretty sturdy in their. And also with cleaning, Q-tips work great, but Q-tips with iso work even better. I don't know how often you use your DV but mine is used multiple times everyday but if you're like me, iso helps remove some of the brown stains left from ABV.

Yes, the black box exactly. I am waiting on a new charger and i'll see if that fixes it, :)

I get what you're saying with the ISO but you can't vape that after, can you? I think a nice way to to a clean&vape session would be to wipe the q-tip inside the chambers and the straw and then remove the cotton and put in the chamber and vape it but i dunno if it will harm the unit in any way. I got the idea from Vito's tips in other vaporizers so i thought it should work in the DV as well. Thoughts?

Didn't see your little bit about vaping the cotton lol. Yea you're right, you wouldn't be able to vape the iso right after cleaning, but I'm sure if you let it sit, maybe it'll all evaporate, but I'm not sure how long it would take though because I've never evaped iso in anything other than a metal tin. I do think if this all works, you will get more content in your cotton with iso than with a dry q-tip.

Your method should work too though, since the oil can is designed to be use with cotton (JRR's mod makes the cans so much better to use). Haven't tried it your way though, when I use dry q-tips they tend to leave behind little fibers anywhere sticky. Let me know if it works.
