Smell and portable vaporizers

So, I am not really in the market for a new vaporizer, but that new Pax caught my eye and I started to think about what I really need right now as far as a vape. The Cloud is, of course my main vape. I haven't really touched the Q since I got it. The MFLB is my "on the go" vape and I love it for skiing, hiking, etc.

What I need at this point is a stealth portable. Something that fits in my pocket, heats up fast, and delivers nice hits without a lot of breathing techniques, etc. BUT, what I really need is for this phantom vape to NOT SMELL. I'd like to stick it in my pocket when I go off to work and not smell like meds. I mean, I love the MFLB, but it has a distinct smell now. Like I said, it's great when I don't care about the smell, but sometimes I'd like to be able to medicate in a situation where I need to be discreet.

So, is there a small, stealthy portable that doesn't reek after a few weeks of use?

From what I heard, if you clean the MFLB with Isopropyl Alcohol regularly it won't smell. I'll find out when I get my own soon. :p

My DaVinci does not smell after a couple weeks of use. The thing is... I clean it thoroughly every 2/3 sessions. I think the trick to any device is cleaning it. All of my portables start to smell like burnt popcorn after some extended use. I found that being ultra proactive about cleaning is the best way to make portables not smell. I also don't store my plant material in the devices. I use one of those airtight/waterproof key chain pill containers to hold my medicine. This keeps the smell down. Then when I want to have a session I transfer some of the plant material into whatever device I am using.

thermovape t1 or evo? you can boil and clean all the parts. the evo would be the most discrete out of the two.

some vapes smell more than others, but they will ALL smell...and if it dosent... well the bud you're about to vape DOES smell...soooo thiers no way around it.

when my solo stems and bowl are nice n clean, i keep them in a smelly proof bag along with meds, works great...

check out dimebags, most of the pipe bags come with these smelly proof bags, saved my ass so many times with family....

I dont know if flowers is all your after but, I use a ego-t with hash oils and it's super stealthy I keep it in my pocket at work sometimes and no one would ever know. I have also hit it and had co workers walk up right after exhale. I also hit it next to a co worker in my truck once and he thought I was like chewing on a pen or something he had no idea what was up til I told him. I have only had people smell it taking very very large rips and blowing it in their direction in a confined space. It's nice cause if anyone actually asks what it is or sees me using it I can just say it's an ecig.

i take my omicron to work everyday. boss thinks its an e-cig, everyone else know whats up haha. i find if mine is in my pocket i reek like a dispensairy.... carefull you get used to your own smell, FAST. Just walk up and ask a friend "do i stink?" if thier eyes dont lite up, you're good :)

Good lookin out chad, thanks for the heads up. I don't use it a whole lot at work and I have different carts that I have switched up. Then when I am home it's SSV only, so maybe I just haven't ran enough oil through it I probably haven't even put a full a gram through a cart yet. IF.... that's all it is then I would say a clean pen vape is probably as stealth as it gets. You don't have to carry herb, grinder, container for ABV, larger more conspicuous looking vape devices. But as they say different strokes different folks. I find my pen doesn't seem to really get me there that well for me..... I don't know if this is because the oil and the thc/CBD ratio or what, it just isn't the same as a big crucible of flowers in the ssv filtered through some ice cold water...... Making me wish I was home right NOW lol

ah i know that feeling at work :\ if anything dirty mouthpieces give you away, cause its very close to your mouth and moist so it emits smell like crazy.


solo+preground sack. done. blow roasted bowls out the window :) but yea your whole fuckn car reeks like fresh bud

OK, yea, I mean I don't like to take ISO to the MFLB that often. It's rather fragile. I am all about cleaning my gear, but this would be a specific situation where I would need to be sure there was no smell.

I also don't want to carry a container with flowers and have to load, etc. My idea is to have something I can load in the morning and have the material sealed in the vape. Yea, flowers smell, but if it was something where you load it and cap it, then it wouldn't reek. I want to keep it in my pocket, take a little walk and medicate.

well, you can load a solo bowl and leave it off til you are ready to vape, thats how i do mine every morning, but i always have a tiny airtight container with 1-2 more bowls worth of pre grind for re-loading if you're out all day.

The DaVinci has a storage compartiment inside the vaporizer that is good for 2 more bowls, if you bring the main chamber loaded, you get 3 nice sessions with nothing else than the vaporizer itself.

Other than that, the smell issue being resolved with boiling and the fast hitting capacity makes the thermovape products a good option for you Tsat.

The puff it and the pax look promising too if you care to wait a while longer..

my omicron, revolution and mflb all stink to high hell when in my pockets.

the TV1 isn't as bad but I still think it smells. I think the best solution is to seal the vape away into some sort of airtight/smell proof container.

^^^ Exactly! I know how to get around the smell and all. Thats not what I am asking. I am asking if there is a vape that "works" and can fit in my pocket (filled with meds) and NOT stink. That is the question! :)

Some may be better than others, but keeping it clean is the key. That'll make more difference, odor wise, than finding the least smelly portable.

In order to get what you are looking for it would be ideal if there was a vape that closed off it's own airways... this is how they smell. it's when air wafts through them and carries the smell up with it.

Freshly used equipment is always going to have a smell with it too. so if you can bring it in clean then you will be better off.

another tip that was touched on was your body heat. Your own body heat is your enemy when it comes to keeping something stinky on the DL. The solution to that is a baggy pocket that lets the vape hang off your body.

I can't really think of any vape that seals it self. the Cloud would with 4 stoppers... LOL :p i know not what you are asking though bro :) I wish the cloud had a portable little brother though. I would be in heaven and probably stop searching.

I am also on the lookout for my next portable. Currently the TV1 is my go to device, but I need to buy new batteries. I ruined these ones by letting them get way too hot. It takes 2 sets to do a bowl! lol

What about an omicron?? You could get one of the those drip tip caps to close off the mouthpiece, intakes for ecigs are hella small and if you close off one side of fhe air path. There wont be any air movement to waft smells out the intake. Clean mouth pieces regularly and carts before refilling. Thats about as stealth as it would get i would think.....

well with my omi the cap (the rubber mouthpiece) still stunk and I think that's where the smell was mostly coming from in that instance?

^^^very true, the reason why the launch box has such a little odor (when used correctly.And matters of stealth are taken) Is because of the short airpath (native) the vapor doesnt linger or sit for a while, its newly made every hit.

Have you thought about an Aluminum Vapor Genie? You can pack a bowl in it, go for a walk, not worry about it, and you can keep it clean w/ ISO with no worries. It just takes a lighter, and from my experience it doesn't smell quite as much as a wooden vape like a MFLB.
