Good job, VST.

I dig your screen name. Every time I see it my mind automatically recites "We were somewhere around Barstow when the drugs began to take hold..."

Yay, that Air Strike does look petty awesome indeed Boobs! Pretty pricey too unfortunately :/

Nice comparison vid VST. One little mistake though; you still can't charge and use the Solo at the same time with the separately bought 8,5V power supply. It just powers the Solo in use but it doesn't charge the battery.

Hi All,

I have just taken the plunge and bought an Arizer Solo which arrived yesterday and I am amazed and very happy! To date my only vape experience was about 8 years ago and I was not impressed, hardly got a buzz from it at all. I forget the make but it was a cheap looking unit made from an upturned jam jar with a heating element and a whip. But this Solo is a totally different story, far more effective as I was battered after only using about half the weed I would normally....so i am now a happy convert!

However I would really appreciate some advice from you Vape veterans out there.

1) Once packed and loaded how long do you wait to take your first rip?
2) Roughly how long should I wait between rips? I am using the between 4-5 on the heat settings.
3) How do i know if my bowl is done and how long should that roughly take on the above heat settings?

Apologies if these are silly questions and have been covered before but I would appreciate some advice in order to get the most out of this wicked little unit. Any other tips would also be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure I thought of other questions but for some unexplicable reason my short term memory isn't working so well this morning!

Thanks in advance.

Mod note: Vape specific questions should go in the threads for those vapes. This has been moved to the Solo thread.

As all of those questions are about the solo, they should really go in the solo thread.
A mod will probably move this at some point, but until then, I can give you some answers :)
1 - I pack a stem, put it in the solo, and then turn it on. once its up to temp, its ready to hit.
If I'm putting a stem into an already hot solo, I either wait a minute, or just start puffing - your draws should heat the stem up a bit quicker than letting it preheat on its own.
2 - I don't wait. Hit, Hold, Exhale, repeat :D if you notice the vapor getting thinner, maybe give it 10-15 seconds, but I haven't noticed any need to wait between hits.
3 - I usually just wait until the vapor gets particularly thin, then its done.
It usually takes me 8-12 minutes to finish a full stem (but will vary depending on your hit style/preferences)

Oh, BTW
Welcome to FC

Huge props to VST for such an informative awesome comparison video! Dude, you are the vapor!!! Thank you!!

The glass aroma tube makes that much of a difference in taste in comparison to the silicon on the DaVinci eh?

can i stick my male joint in there?
my 107 runs pretty hot imo. i run it lower then i did my 104 or 105, which i run on 4. but new 107 i run on 3. check out my video a page back, that is pure hash and oil, if it can handle that then i wouldn't worry about it.

Without glass mouthpiece, the dimensions are as follows:
Diameter 1.75"
Height 4.5"

Heater is ceramic, mouthpiece bat is all glass.

Battery charge lasts between 3-4 hours depending on temperature settings used. Takes about 4 hours to charge fully.

This unit cannot be used while charging with the standard charger, but another charger is available for purchase that can charge the unit while in use!

Heats up to temp in about 1 min 30 seconds.

When you turn the unit on, if you hold the down arrow button for a couple seconds it goes back to your last temperature setting used.

I'll have to get back to you about the battery type and temperatures. I will do my best to respond to those questions tomorrow, and I'll post more pics then as well.

Which is better the straight or the bent mouthpiece?

i prefer straight. They both perform the same.

During a normal week how many times do you have to clean the Mouthpiece? I was going to make the Magic Flight my first Vape, but I am going to do more research and I might choose a more expensive unit if the features stand out.

Which is better the straight or the bent mouthpiece?

They both perform more or less identically, but I prefer the bent when i'm not vaping through my tube (once in a blue moon). IMO the bent ones seem to hit a little bit cooler, not as hot on the tongue, its hard to describe and very subtle but i've definitely noticed it. I also notice that most of the condensate and particulates will collect right around where that bend in teh glass is, i think kinda supports my theory that even a slight, simple bend in the air path can provide some degree of cooling versus it being a straight shot into your mouth.

again this is just IMO. the straight ones are nicer to use in some ways tho, in that they dont spin around in the solo like the bent ones making you have to line it up like a straw in a glass before every hit. Straight is also nicer to use with a glass piece, but nowhere near as nice as a gong stem.

fortunately arizer sends you one of each so you can decide which you prefer. at least, they did last i checked...

I ordered my Solo a few weeks ago off ebay for $160 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-ARIZER-SOLO-Portable-Battery-Vaporizer-2012-Free-Bonus-Grinder-Silver-/160769958649?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256ea2e2f9#ht_7003wt_1163). Expidited shipping included free. So if anyone is looking for one they could get one there, or show that price to puffitup.com see if they will match it.
