Hey Tom,

I enjoy your updates and posts ( and I like your website, too  ) -- I was wondering, why are the PD's not available in Arizona, as it says on your site?

Just wondering, thanks for the info! Cheers.

Arizona Sales Tax
The Arizona sales tax rate is 5.6%. Currently, all fifteen counties levy a tax in addition to the state tax. For Maricopa County, where Phoenix is located, that's 0.7%, making a sales tax of 6.3%. Incorporated municipalities also levy transaction privilege taxes which are generally in the range of 1% to 3% in Maricopa County.

I would need to collect and redistribute that 9.3 % and that would mean a professional website / web designer and add to the accounting burden and further need of professionals, all adding to the cost of every PD, not just AZ sales.

Internet sales outside AZ have no sales tax and it keeps it simple and cheaper for everyone. And a lot less head-ache for Pammy.

Last night, just for the hell of it, I wrapped a t-shirt around my PD. I left it there for a few minutes with a loaded tube. The wood was a lot warmer, and the hits were way more powerful and thick. I guess that's why some people put a koozie on their PD.

I keep a sock on my Black Walnut PD to maintain temp. as much as to boost it (winter months equal a colder apartment). I don't think I'll continue this practice in the dead of summer.

Any have their PD for a year or two of daily use and find the hole where you insert the stem seems a bit larger, as to allow the stem to rock back n forth more. Seems structurally fine, just wondering.

Also the parts inside seems to rattle or rock back n forth a bit more nowadays.

Still rocks, just wondering if I should worry.

420Birth write us, we will send you a tool to fix that. This is mentioned here and on our site a few times, just let us know where to send it.

Purple-Days,
I just spent the night in the hospital, and for those of you wondering about how inconspicuous the purple days is. It sat on my desktable all night in the open, with the incense cap on. and i had no trouble vaping without any smoke clouds, or smell, or even danger to anyones elses health. I was in a private room near the end but i started out sharing a room and there was nothing but a curtain separating me from the guy in the next bed, and no one noticed a thing.
It was very nice not having to deal with that shit morphine without weed lol. i was also able to sleep.
things keeps getting better and better.

gonna try a sock for those thicker hits now :D

BoredCanadian,
quick question. After I got out of the hospital and went home i had upset stomach. So i went for usual cure of upset stomach, which is smoke a bowl. Well no matter how much i vaped, it would not have any affect on my stomach. So i combusted a bowl, and sure enough immediate relief. So my question is, will vaping weed kill a hangover? or is is something else in the combustion process that does this?

I want a sapele PD so bad! Has anyone tried this variety? I'm favoring a PD for my next vape, Please help me with some advice, because this beauty is calling to me.

Empherio, as stated here on this thread, the Sapele was in testing. Only Pammy and I have used Sapele. It is like Myrtle, a bit denser than Cherry or Black Walnut and therefor like Myrtle it will run a couple of degrees cooler. Still well within the vapor zone, but a little cooler. There are about 6 Sapele units left. Don't know if we will be able to get more.

Edit: Feb. 21, 2011 1 PM Mountain . . . Sapele is sold out. We will let you all know if we can get more someday. ;)

So I decided to get a black walnut PD with a bison leather bottom. I wanted something more personal and intimate to use than the surfer while at home. Also all this talk of efficiency has me pretty excited. I ordered on the 10th of February, cant wait wait to see that beautiful black walnut!

Great choice! That's probably my favorite combo so far. Looks like something a successful banker or CEO would have on his desk.

More practically though, the bison seems the most dust resistant (compared to the Paisley and Purple leathers) and the texture look/feel is top notch, IMHO.

shantytown007,
I have had my Purple Days vape for a couple weeks and just wanted to add to the accolades. It's awesome. I have been casually blazing for over 15 years and wanted to stop combusting. The efficiency and simplicity sold me, as did Tom's attention to detail. Its a great intro into vaping and for me is similar enough to the rituals of smoking.

I use it with one of the glass stems sold by Aromazap. I have no interest in having plastic in the vapor path and there were no PD glass stems available at the time of my purchase. The combo works great.

We have cold winters where I live and the house is kept around 60 degrees. Like others, I find that wrapping the PD with a wool sock is helpful for getting bigger hits.

If you're on the fence about ordering I say go for it.

It's been too long. After nearly two years of rocking the SSV exclusively I'm really missing my old PD. Just put in my order. Two years of bong-like rips need to be replaced with sips.

I really like the look of the Clear Dome glass, anyone currently using glass full time on their PD?

Glass all the way. I broke my old Clear Dome glass tube :( So I purchased an ehle 250ml.
It's a killer combo with the pd. I highly recommend it, great price too.

Love my Porta Billy too! Just another one of many benefits of the PD is how easy it is to travel with everything. The PD, stems, and Porta Billy all fit in the carrying bag.

This hit is for you, folks...

Glass is uncharted waters for me but I'm interested. What is required to connect the PD to the ehle - a properly fitting silicone hose from stem to stem?

if it's anything like the mz, the regular stem makes a perfect seal with 14mm glass.

yep, the regular old stems that come with every PD will fit perfect into a 14mm female fitting. I prefer the shorter stems however, since I like shorter tubes, but the regular one works fine.

Im using that setup right now, maybe I will get a picture up in here

jeffp, no need for tubes, pd stems fit just fine with the ehle.
I'm using it with the whip ripper.
