***Gamers*** What are you playing?

Nice, contra is the shit. From the arcade I also have Street Fighter 3 and Marvel vs Capcom 2. Those are probably my two favorite fighting games.

What sucks though for me is that my 360 is fucked up, cannot even play cd's anymore and when i put one in it makes a nasty repetitive noise and won't read the disc. Which really sucks bc I have fallout 3(my favorite game on my 360), Mass effect 2, Halo Reach, Fable 3, Bayonetta, Super Street Fighter 4, Red Dead Redeption, GTA 4 game of the year edition, The Orange Box, and some more. I totally am with you though about them having so little $5 games on xbla. Seeing as how they are Microsoft I doubt they give a fuck though

I plan on buying this $10 game called Warp, it looks pretty good and seems really trippy to play once vaped oout of your effin mind.

here's ign demo game footage of it http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/01/25/warped-press-demo-footage?show=HD

I also plan on getting ms.splosion man eventually as well. it looks like bloody fun.

The new Soul Caliber V is pretty rockin!! It is a fighting style game that is centered around sword like weapons. Lots of fun to play!! THe best part is you are now allowed to make OUTRAGEOUS new characters to play as. You can even make a special voice for your character so this is loads of fun to do while good and vaked!!!

Bah, that sounds awesome but it'll be running on ps3 and looks like there's no Move support, just kinect.

MW3 can be a lot of fun, but they really dropped the ball with some uninspired maps when compared to the last one. All those employees leaving Infinity Ward didn't help.

Another issue is the lag compensation. One match you'll have a 3:1 kill/death ratio and be stomping people and the next one you'll be lucky to break even. You can usually tell when you're at a disadvantage because of all the damage you're taking after you've already gotten behind a wall. Another clue I had was playing kill confirmed and grabbing tags and then having a delay before it even registered. All it takes is a peek at the Killcam to show that somehow you're operating on what seems to be a whole second delay compared to your opponent sometimes. This comes and goes which is why it's so frustrating. Your enemy can fall victim to it as well and this makes your job easier, but I wish we were all on a level playing field all the time rather than having to hope your connection matches up well with the lobby.

Got Call of Duty preowned for pretty cheap recently - played it for about 3 or 4 days before getting completely bored and frustrated with it. Went straight back to BF3 and it's just so, so much better! They really need to hurry up with their DLC though.

Been playing a lot of Forza 4 recently too - got myself a Mercedes SLS AMG that does 0-60 in less than two seconds!

wilf789,
I'm currently playing through the demo for Kingdom's of Amalur on PS3, and it seems really cool so far. Sort of of like a single-player World of Warcraft with real-time combat. I used to play WoW, but I can't deal with the scheduled raids/huge playtime requirements anymore, so this might be a nice fix for $55.

Haven't played the new twisted metal, yet...looking to pick it up soon though!

I hadn't noticed this thread ever, so I figured I'd add in...I generally just play Gran Turismo 5, I have a ps3 and Logitech G27 wheel. Are there many other GT5 players here?

I kept seeing ads for that. It looked like someone crossed Skyrim with God of War III.

Honestly I haven't been playing much lately. Mostly because I haven't been toking much. But when I was, the new Zelda was great, I was playing it on the dolphin emu. I would totally recommend it, if you're a fan of the series, you will be very impressed. I don't know if I will ever go back to a non-motion sword fighting game ever again; I tried going from Skyward to Skyrim, and I just couldn't do it. Wasn't really a fan of the elder scrolls series anyways.

Mostly any open-world games like GTA, WoW etc are great, make you feel like you're actually a part of the society they're placed in. But WoW is just too much fun when baked, it's super addicting, especially when you add some green to the mix. I hated PVE, extremely boring for me, but PVP was amazingly fun to play and rape noobs. Eventually it got repetitive and I got bored owning people, just like what happened with CoD games, so I quit. I'm anticipating Guild Wars 2, and possibly Continent of the Ninth, both look like solid MMO's.

Stealth games like Assassin's Creed are great too, but only single player. I was a huge Gears fan, until GoW 3 came out. Multiplayer is just so unbalanced with the sawed-off, all it does is piss me off, even though I haven't seen anyone with a higher K/D than myself yet (used no sawed-off either). Another sick game is MX vs ATV: Alive, if you're a fan of motocross & supercross, you will absolutely love it. Unfortunately mine has a glitch which makes it unplayable now, but when it was playable, Live matches were absolutely amazing.

Story is a meh for me, what really pulls me in about mass effect is the gameplay and all the space elements put into ridiculously well polished rpg.

So well polished.

I've been enjoying the mass effect 3 multiplayer thoroughly after the giggle-fest of an ending.

would I be better off starting with Mass Effect 1 and going through the trilogy chronologically, or should I just start with ME3?
I don't really plan on doing any of the multiplayer...

I personally would play all three. I played the second one again before the release of third, i really do like the series and its probably because its a great combination of three awesome things; Action games, RPG's & Sci-fi.

I played ME1, and then used that save for ME2, but switched consoles for ME3 so I couldn't import my previous character.

Let me tell you, there's a big decrease in overall enjoyment when you aren't importing. It feels much more one-dimensional.

At the very least, I'd play through ME2 first. The first game is much less polished and the gameplay is extremely clunky compared to the other two, but choices you make in the first game do impact the third game.

A big part of the fun of ME is the epic journey from humble beginnings.

Haven't gamed too much since my youth, but i like to buy toys and game systems are no different. Kinect on Xbox is the shit for parties, and the dance games are just insanely fun when you get the right group, with the right ladies. Mostly though, i just buy Madden every year, and then barely play it

I have been playing the Elder Scrolls series since Arena. Daggerfall, the second in the series, just blew my mind at the time and i played the hell out of it. Needless to say, I have played some Skyrim, and I can dork it to that game uber hard. For those who havent played, this is where the Fallout engine and concept came from, and although i liked both, Elder Scrolls is much better and much in depth IMO,
