And i'm not sure if i'd say the SS has a better taste? In fact, I can taste more "chemical" or whatever it is on the SS. My ceramic tastes better.

Arizer stated that at the exact same setting the SS is 5 degrees cooler, not 20.
actually I believe they said 5 Celsius cooler I believe.

Ok guys and gals Arizer basically told me to go fuck myself in so many words. He basically said

Thank you for your email. The temperature settings in the Stainless Steel units were adjusted slightly to account for the difference in heat conductivity of ceramic vs. stainless steel. As long as your Stainless Steel unit is working properly I am unable to process any warranty claims. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask me.

I sent him back another email to explain that into more detail because in my understanding the SS doesn't hold heat as well as the ceramic so shouldn't the heat have been turned up to account for the difference?

Do you get headaches/smells/tastes? Because that is not how a vaporizer is when it is working properly. Certainly not such a damn expensive one. Now I might know why they don't even advertise this POS on their website :( they have no intentions of fixing any of these issues they keep dismissing. They made a nice effort with stainless, but this is unacceptable at this point. I really want some OTHER company (at this point) to make a solo but safer and better. Damn you Arizer. You built my hopes up and I loved the vape. Then everything fell apart.

Edit: Also, VapeNStone, were you really expecting another free warranty replacement just because your first free replacement didn't live up to your lofty expectations of surpassing its ceramic counterpart?
You have two fully functional units... why are you still complaining?

I just ordered the solo with the hard case from ebay. I have an extreme Q as my main piece so getting the solo completes my arizer set.:D

Because I was supposed to get a unit that replaced my old unit. Now when the new unit is shittier when I want it to work right and since it was working fine before I would expect the new one to at least work the same or better. I never said I wanted another free replacement. Just want this one to work the same as the old one is all. I feel this should be standard practice when I paid $289 for this vape.

Oh and Darkroom I don't really have any smells that are upwardly too bad(just normal smell that my ceramic had when new), but i'm getting a horrid taste with the SS. No headaches that I have noticed but I just tried it that one time.

I'm hoping you guys are exaggerating the issues with the SS model. Meh either way it should be better than my MFLB

Well I am lovin mine. Both the ceramic and the SS. For new people considering getting one you now have pretty much all the input and info you'll need to decide. I think it's well made, well engineered and my expectations were not affected at all as I expected some smell on first use as all my vapourizers have had that issue and it makes sense from an engineering perspective. Also no issues with either as far as high pitched sounds. Just good vape! I've also shared mine with 6 other people and they all want to know where to get one. Three of them have other vapes (HA, MFLB, volcano) and one uses a portable (iolite) and commented how much better the solo is.

Thanks VnS for forwarding this to us! Wow, that makes no sense at all! Are they lying again? It's like they didn't adjust ANY temp at all. They simply stopped applying ceramic and the temp isn't as high. If they actually modified the temps, then they should be the same, or the SS should be hotter. Whatever, they have lost my trust and business, and I can't wait to replace my solo with something better for a portable down the road, be it mivape, minivap, whatever..

My ceramic is starting to not hold it's temp very well at all, i'm wondering if the battery is finally showing wear or something because clouds are not what they used to be. If I didn't have the free SS one, i'd be fuming at paying $300+.

Well he sent me an email back already.

Thank you for your email. The decision to change the temperature settings takes into account many variables such as heat conductivity, heat retention, and energy use. I am not an engineer, but I can assure you any changes made were not arbitrary and were made based on sound science.

Yeah the SS with the temp changes works fine for me. it would have been nice to have the higher range but
In actual use both the SS and ceramic work well. Even when I switch over the ceramic head
Onto the SS body, it works surprisingly well. I do have to turn it up a setting more but it works. So whether they are stock or switched they both work great. Goes to show that although my measurements indicate the lower temp SS shouldn't work as well, in practice it actually does work well, showing that measurements don't tell the whole story.

Sorry but at this point can't you guys just suck it up? If your first ceramic Solo worked so well then why get the warranty replacement in the first place?

These devices can't be cheap to make, and the fact that Arizer has shipped you guys FREE REPLACEMENTS and you are still complaining is a little wild to me.

If you guys are so dissatisfied with your Solo(s) then why not just sell it instead of posting the same product and company bashing you have been? I am a very happy Solo user and it pisses me off that you guys are so quick to write off a company after they have admitted a mistake was made and shipped you a second (free) product.

Yes, I now have two fully functioning solo's so I'm not going to start complaining. I was able to completely remove the ceramic coating from my older solo so now I have two SS bowl solos. Of course I do not get headaches or anything either so that changes things I see. But the endless bitching of the same things over and over again is not solving the issues with the unit or getting you what you want, obviously.

I just have to also say that the only problem I have ever had with my solo was the ceramic chipping, which is now not a problem. So I am a happy Arizer customer. Crazy, I know.

Who said we were dissatisfied with our soloS? I'm sick and tired of everyone putting words in my mouth. I'm mad over the fact that this replacement that they sent me doesn't work like the first one that I bought so in my mind they didn't do shit. They just sent me something to shut me up that works crappier. I am extremely happy with my solo(the ceramic) but, unfortunately for my vaping style the replacement doesn't work at all. So in reality they just sent me a very expensive paper weight. I mean the thing still works so I guess I'm just going to sell it to at least get some money back and I'll build my own portable vape. The only solo I dislike is the warranty replacement and in my mind isn't a solo as it doesn't work as good even at the hottest temp. So I'm dissatisfied in just my one solo and would love love love for it to work like the original one I bought.

Well it doesn't seem to have shut you up so maybe that's not what Arizer was trying to do. Perhaps they were trying to provide good customer service by giving you a free and revised version. There is no evidence to suggest that the SS version with the revised temperature specs is worse. For me it works better. I get a smoother draw, bigger clouds and better taste. Had the SS solo been the first release I wonder how much bitching and complaining people like you would be doing? My guess is much less. If you don't like your Solo, return it for a refund if you can and move onto products you do like. If you can't return it consider selling it. We've heard your issues (over and over and over again) so at the very least can you stop whining about it on here?

I just purchased some AW 18650 2900mAH cells. I am going to try making a 2900mHA pack which should give 35% more power capacity. I will report back once I get the cells which are coming from AW in china. Two cells to make the pack is about $40. I have the JST connectors here already from my RC hobby.

Remember, the batter pack that's in the Solo has a circuit board inside the over-wrap that prevents over charging and rapid discharge. If you leave out that circuit board you could damage the Solo's circuitry or have a fire hazard on your hands.

The AW cells I use have over-charge and discharge circuity built into them. I will investigate the stock pack to see what they are using in there. It might be that the board in the stock pack still has to be used even with protected cells.

Well it doesn't seem to have shut you up so maybe that's not what Arizer was trying to do. Perhaps they were trying to provide good customer service by giving you a free and revised version. Can't argue this as that is exactly what they are doing. But I was told that I would get a replacement that is absolutely equal to the one that I currently have with no changes? Then I asked questions and all of a sudden it was just slight different There is no evidence to suggest that the SS version with the revised temperature specs is worseNo evidence huh? How about personal experience? Not enough?. For me it works better. I get a smoother draw, bigger clouds and better taste.I couldn't get as big of clouds as the ceramic even full blasted at 7 with the 2 hole stem pulling very very slowly Had the SS solo been the first release I wonder how much bitching and complaining people like you would be doing? VapeNStone,
here is a video side by side for the solos. SS on the left Ceramic on the right. I mean from seeing this video I would have to say the temp settings are really really off!! Especially since that other guys video was waaaay different. Look how fast that SS heats up. I doubt its just that much quicker at reaching those temps. I am actually now thinking there is someone really wrong with my SS unit.

Did you not see my charts and video? I actually measured the ceramic and the SS temps in real time as they went through the settings. the SS crucible runs 20C cooler than the ceramic. I am using the SS on 6 right now and all i can feel is love for you, so it must work pretty good. ;)

yea but look at my video compared to yours? Your ceramic is only seconds behind your SS when my SS is basically done all the way to 7 before my ceramic reaches 4?
