The State is just a bunch of ill informed politicians that are still stuck in the era of "Reefer Madness". When are they going to wake up and smell the coffee, "the times they are a changing". These people are dinosaurs, and we all know what happened to the dinosaurs.

Funny that you mention dinosaurs, I recently changed my location (From:) Arizona to Rockazona a reference to a neighboring state the Flintstone's visited. More primitive than Bedrock???

I used to think the old school 'reefer madness' crowd would die off... that was back in '72... What a fool I was... :2c: :peace:

I have high hopes for massachusetts.

We've passed a bunch of non-binding resolutions, ready for a real one hopefully.

Also in the General Court we have a bill to "An Act to regulate and tax the cannabis industry" HOUSE BILL NO. 01371

I agree that I have high hopes, but I dont think we will be the first state to pass this. I think we allowed it to be decriminalized because people wanted to let a little pot slide, but full on legal is another matter. I am not sure if the state is ready for that in 2012.... It would be a tough fight.

The medical issue is definitely more likely to actually happen. The stuff I've read didn't cover quite as many diagnoses as I'd like, but did include provisions for adding to the list.

My understanding is that it's been brought up before and sent to committee multiple times and I'm a little worried that's what'll happen again, but we'll see. You'd think they could only do that so many times :)

If I may, it's not that we automatically just dismiss the anti-cannabis studies for no reason. It's the constant propaganda and lying they have subjected us too. The psychosis study has been debunked already.

The US government says we need more studies. Why the fuck won't they allow them then?

http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=8092 ----They won't approve pro cannabis studies.

How about if a judge approves it, 45 senators, some scientific, medical and public health org? Nope.

EDIT* The final nail in the coffin, IMO, is the fact that even though cannabis use has went up, the schizo rate has remained flat.

I'm torn on this. On one hand, people need their medicine. On the other hand, this was a really shitty bill. Since I don't have one of the 12 or 13 illnesses, part of me is glad it failed, due to the belief they would of really tightned the laws on non-medical use. Then I feel guilty because this can really help some of those in need.

Either way, I don't think I've ever been this disgusted about an issue. It's a fucking plant. I can't believe there is even a need for a debate on legalization, let alone medicinal use. It boggles my mind.
